Kit laughed as Loma stared down at the glittering necklace…which she was apparently supposed to use to strangle creatures. 

"Yup." The adept gave Loma a roguish wink. "It's a weapon, but it sure looks good on you. Each of us put some of our energy in it to make it work."

"All of you did this…for me?"

Kit nodded. "Well, Alaric gave the most so that you are extra protected by his magic specifically. And because he had to prove to Lysander that he could. It really would be faster if they just take out their penises and swing them about a bit to determine who has the most skill once and for all, but we all know Lysander doesn't care about proving anything to Alaric."

Loma choked on a snicker, but her face started to burn. She knew from a lot of recent experience that Alaric didn't need to prove anything about his skill in that department.
