Chapter 198: Worry and Worn Gears (2/2)

At Wren's appearance on the patio, Kit and Willow promptly forgot Rowan existed and began to fuss over him each in their own way.

Talk of Lysander and Galena fell temporarily by the wayside, but the glances they gave each other confirmed that they all shared the same thought about what Wren had just said. Whatever had happened to Galena, Ciprian was responsible. 

Anger burned in Rowan's chest before Wren's smile at his guests doused the flames. There would be time enough for anger after today.

Rowan was done letting his coward of a father hide. He would find him and drag him out for judgement, one way or another. But right now, he was still enjoying this reprieve from what was sure to come.

He flopped down in one of the patio chairs and watched as Wren preened for his guests.
