Synopsis
The day before his spirit awakening, Xie Xie has a dream. A dream of another world called Earth, a dream of another life. On that same day, a power awakens within him. The Anime Compendium of Martial Arts.
The MC will be very strong for his age, but not overpowered. He will still have to struggle, train, and preserve through hardships to gain his power. He will not have any knowledge of any of the Soul Land books. Also, he will retain his core personality, as his 'dream' of another life is more akin to watching a movie than experiencing a whole other life, so he will still mostly act his age. Finally, he will have a very close relationship with Tang Wulin. As the story develops, they will become closer, and their dynamic would be more like the one between Killua and Gon than a Goku and Vegeta one. No Yaoi.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Soul Land novels, nor do I own the cover. Basically, I don't own anything in this fanfic. Just like how I don't own my house anymore because my ex-wife Karen took it when she took the kids.

Obligatory author review. I try to be not too cliche, but I’m gonna inevitably have some. As for why I picked Xie Xie as the main character: I honestly like him as a character later on, and I think his friendship with Wulin was cool. I thought it would be nice for them to have a kinda Gon and Killua dynamic. I also like Yuanen Yehui as a love interest. Obviously, it won’t go the same as canon because I liked their relationship but not how they got into the relationship. And finally, while I did like Xie Xie’s character as a whole, there are some aspects to him I didn’t like, and I think he had way more potential than what was shown in the story. Imo they did him dirty just because he wasn’t the main character. From this point on: slight spoilers for like chapter 1 As for Xie Xie’s cheat, it’s basically a library with some anime martial arts and weapon styles. I don’t think it’s honestly that op, mostly because pure skill and technique really can’t help you when some dude one shots you because he has a dragon arm. If he’s fighting someone who’s just honestly way more powerful than him, he’ll just straight up lose. Another reason why it’s not too broken is because of his body can’t use it, then it won’t work. As an example: if he gets the Eight Gates technique, hows he gonna use it cause he has no chakra neither the Eight Gates in his body. The only foreign power system I’m introducing is Haki because 1: it’s not too broken and 2: I just love it. On top of that, I actually have an explanation on why he can use it. Also, this story will be a bit Slice-of-Lifey because I want to develop my characters more and help emphasize how they’re different from canon. On top of that, the MC won’t have any foreknowledge on Soul Land at all, so he won’t try to keep canon the same. Anyways, what I’m trying to say is that if you want a harem and op-mc who never loses, you should probably leave.
