Chapter 15: Chapter 15 The Unknown Enemy

Jay directly exposed the disguise, but there was no surprise on Alicia's face. She smiled lightly, pulled away from a little, brushed her hair, and asked, "So, you noticed."

"My memory isn't that bad, X-sight, remember?" Jay shrugged. "I saw your face when I was down there, and your pretty mask didn't help."

"I think so too, but I couldn't confirm that you had an X line of sight before, but now I can be sure." Alicia looked around for a while, stood up, and said, "It's not suitable to talk here; come with me; I have something to say. I have to talk to you."

At this point, the game is ending, and the fans' enthusiasm has just reached a peak. The audience stood up one after another and shouted to the arena. The voices of the people were superimposed layer by layer, like a turbid and loud thunder, and the content could not be heard at all. Jay struggled to squeeze through the high-spirited crowd and followed Alicia to the empty parking lot on the lower level.

"So," Jay asked as they leaned against a load-bearing post in the parking lot, "what should I call you? It sounds stupid to call you Huntress or Alicia."

"Just call Helena," she smiled. "That's my real name—that's what I promise."

Jay knew at least in this part that she wasn't lying, and it was a good start.

"You work for the government?"

"Forget it. I work for a special operations department, a new organisation formed after the doomsday invasion, which specialises in recruiting agents with special abilities to perform special tasks." Helena said.

"So, I assume you haven't told anyone about me?"

"Temporarily." Helena said, "I omitted your part when I reported to my superiors."

"Thank you so much; I guess I owe you a favour now." Jay said, paused, and asked again, "So, you didn't come to me to hear a 'thank you this time. Bar?"

Helena put away her charming smile, showing a severe expression for the first time since Jay met her.

"Yes, I have some essential information that I think you need to know." She said, "Two days ago, my superior informed me that a member of a certain killer group had been found around the Metropolis. As far as we know, it's a pretty large system, and their killers are brutal and dangerous, with blood on their hands. Our agents have fought against them many times, but we still know very little about them."

"Like a man in black who named a member after a drink in a comic?"

"I'm talking serious, don't interrupt."

Jay closed his mouth with interest after Helena's stern scolding, and Helena continued leisurely: "I was sent to inquire about the situation. I identified one of their temporary dens based on the tip, and they conducted a raid last night. It's a pity they were quite clever, and I couldn't catch anyone, but I got some data from their computer equipment that might be relevant to their mission to the Met. Then I found...this."

As she spoke, she operated the watch-like instrument on her wrist for a moment and soon projected a small floating screen. Before that, Jay had only seen such black technology in spy movies, and he subconsciously began to wonder if he should also find a way to make such a beautiful thing.

A photo was quickly loaded in the centre of the screen, and Jay opened his mouth in surprise when he saw his photo sticker in the centre.

"This is me?"

"Very obvious," Helena said.

Jay frowned. "You mean I've been exposed?"

"Otherwise, you can find a reason why the mission target of a certain international terrorist organisation is a high school student." Helena paused and spread her hands, "Before you ask again, I will answer— It's not me, I didn't report a word about you to my superiors, and of course, I didn't contact the terrorists."

Where exactly was it exposed? It was the first time Jay had used his abilities outside the Underground Mall so far, and he was pretty sure Helena was the only one who had seen it. Otherwise, these people had some connection with the original owner of his body before he crossed into this world.

This does seem to be the most likely explanation.

"I can't be sure of the specific content of their mission, and I don't know what they want." Helena said, "But I can only be sure of one thing - they are here for you."

After a long pause, Jay said, "Well, anyway, thanks for warning me; I'll be careful."

Helena asked, "Mind if I ask, what are you going to do with it?"

"How to deal with it?" Jay smiled bitterly, "what else can I do? If it is confirmed that someone is coming at me, in the worst case, I have to say goodbye to my current life. I have to abandon this identity and leave far away, To avoid anyone associated with me getting involved."

Helena blinked her eyes. "So, are you ready?"

Jay was silent for a while.

"I don't know," he said, "but I don't think I have a choice."

"Okay, then I sincerely hope things won't develop to that point." Helena patted his shoulder and said, "Let's do it for now, and I'll let you know if I find anything else. "

"Thank you anyway."

Jay said goodbye to Helena, and his mind was a mess. He suddenly had a strange suspicion, as if everything had swept into his life like an invisible cloud in these two days, breaking the delicate balance he had long held.

Helena also turned around and was about to leave. She strode towards the parking space where her car was parked. Her fingers had just touched the door handle, and the cold blade was already on her neck. An oppressive murderous aura seemed to be released out of thin air from behind, instantly covering her whole body, making her only feel cold hands and feet. Intuition tells her that she can't resist the enemy behind her because he is too much better than herself.

When Jay's keen super senses realised something was wrong, a black figure silently appeared behind Helena to restrain her. He was wrapped in a tight-fitting all-black combat uniform, with white goggles attached to his mask, and his sharp eyes, like steel knives, shone through. With his elbows tightly around Helena's throat, he pressed the bright, sharp knife against her snow-white skin, his keen eyes as if warning Jay not to act rashly.

Jay was startled. With his super-microscopic vision and powerful hearing that can hear things from miles away, he was confident that no one would be lurking around him without him noticing—but that was before today. Because this black guy in front of him did it, he was like a ghost; Jay couldn't hear his breathing and heartbeat and appeared out of nowhere like a ghost.

The enemy has come much faster than he expected.
