Chapter 33: Chapter 33 Going Home

This is the end of Jay's first alien trip, and overall it's a thrilling trip. Although he would never want to do it again, the trip might even be funny retrospectively.

Helena was very empathetic and didn't drag the exhausted alien travelers to the routine questioning; she said that she would stay and deal with the funeral and then found a chance to see Jay for details. This guarantee is good news for Jay and Carla and all those who have escaped a world at war. After this series of frightening and exciting experiences, everyone has reached the point where they feel extravagant even with a single thought, and now all they miss most is their warm home. If there is one thing I must miss more, it should only be a warm bed at home.

Carey International Creative Company has been completely blocked. When they left the skyscraper, Jay felt so lucky that he had the "solar power bank" physique of the Kryptonians. The warm sunlight poured generously on every inch of his skin, dispelling his exhaustion instantly. He seemed to feel that every cell that had been drained was filled with sunlight and swelled up again, making him think indescribably comfortable.

He squinted and enjoyed the sun's gift and said, "I love the yellow sun; I think I'll have to go back and find a chance to sunbathe all day... oh no, I'm going to fly to the surface of the Sun Sun, I have never tried it, it must be delightful."

Cara smiled and said, "I suggest you don't do that. You'll likely be stretched to death, or you'll never want to see the sun again."

Jay turned his head to the side, seeing the brilliant sunlight lining Carla's almost translucent skin with gold trim, and the few strands of blond hair fluttering in the breeze were practically indescribable beauty.

Carla noticed his gaze and asked suspiciously, "What's wrong? Is there something left in my hair in the junkyard?"

As she said, she reached out and groped her head, and Jay laughed and said, "No, it's just... just unbelievable about what we've just been through." He paused and added: " I couldn't have done it without you, thank you."

"It's the same for me." Carla smiled lightly, then thought of something and suddenly said with a bitter face, "Well, I think I must have missed Ms. Grant's plane, and I will miss her. Angry. I think I must be fired this time."

Jay laughed and said, "Don't worry, she won't do that. Trust me; she likes you in her heart."

"I guess we'll see each other soon." She sighed heavily, curling strands of her blond hair with her fingers, "Well...I think I'll have to go back and shower now; It must smell bad."

"Ha, me too."

"Um... Then bye first?"

"Well, let's do this first; I must go back to my mother, and you know." Jay paused for a while and said hesitantly, "But... ...when it's all done, and we all have time...maybe..."

Carla smiled. "Let me guess, you mean...a real date?"

"Look, we sometimes get along quite well."

The two smiled at each other. Carla nodded and said, "Okay, then it's settled, a real date. Don't let my dove."

As she spoke, she floated up slowly, like a feather that was so soft and weightless. Jay watched her disappear into the blue sky from a distance and, for a moment, seemed to feel that the clear sky was bluer than before.

Jay's adventure across the universe and galaxies seems to be long and far away, but it only happened in more than ten hours. But it almost felt like ten centuries had passed for Mrs. Reynolds, who waited anxiously at home.

She had prepared Mr. Reynolds full of complaints and grievances, but it all vanished when her husband and son appeared at the door of the house together. She gave the two of them a big hug with red eyes. It was a family reunion moment, and they were very grateful to have each other at this moment.

Until Mrs. Reynolds pushed them away, pinched her nose in disgust, and asked, "Who of you two smells so bad?"

Jay raised his hand awkwardly. Mrs. Reynolds hurriedly urged him to get dressed and take a shower because he smelled like a moving recycling station. Jay said he just climbed out of the junkyard, an alien...

"Eternal God Emperor"

So the father and son took a quick shower one after another, and Mrs. Reynolds buried herself in the kitchen to prepare a feast for them. Mr. Reynolds took a bath as if to wash away his exhaustion. After he came out, he was more than refreshed and utterly different from before.

Jay asked what he was investigating to get to this point. After a brief exchange between the two, Jay found that what he saw in the office folder was all Dad's content. After learning about the Carey Technology and Creative Company, they immediately involved unexpected things such as human trafficking and illegal human experiments in cooperation with the aliens in the war world.

What's even more terrifying is that this series of events could have been involved many years ago, and people don't even notice it. So many people have disappeared silently from society, and there are even some people with great social energy. Hasn't the government seen the slightest difference?

Or the question that should be asked is, what role did the federal government play in this incident?

Some mysteries have been solved, only to raise more questions, and each one seems more daunting than the last. Jay increasingly felt that the events they were involved in were far from simple, perhaps a conspiracy beyond his imagination, and he wasn't sure if he was ready for what was to come.

The discussion between the two fell into a dull atmosphere, and they sat silent for a long time on the sofa in the living room.

After a moment, Mr. Reynolds broke the silence: "Thank you, son...and I'm sorry. I shouldn't have kept what I was doing from you and you. Mom, we are family members and are supposed to trust and help each other. It was my ill-considered actions that brought about this."

"It's alright, Dad." Jay patted him on the shoulder and smiled. "It's all gone. The important thing is that we're all back, right?"

"Yeah." Reynolds looked straight into his son's blue eyes, "I'm such an idiot. For all your talent, I've only seen you as a child for so long.... ..my child. I always worry that I miss something important - you've grown up."

"You can talk to me about anything, Dad," Jay said. "Whatever it is, I'm sure we can work it out together."

Mrs. Reynolds, who was passing by from the kitchen, saw this scene and couldn't help showing a relieved smile. She coughed lightly and strode into the living room: "Mr. White, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, just sent a message to greet you, and he also gave you a few days off. This makes me think...When was the last time we had a family cookout?"

Mr. Reynolds echoed, "That's a good idea." He thought of something again, turned to Jay, and said, "By the way, maybe you can call the girl you brought with you this time, she's Nas; she'spergirl, right? She looks amazing. Do you have her contact details?"

Jay's face was black, and he was reluctant to think about what Reynolds meant by "awesome."

"Yes, but . . . I'm not sure it's a good idea," he said. "I'm not sure she'd like it."

"Try it; youth is all about having the courage to try so that you won't have any regrets!" Mr. Reynolds made a high-spirited gesture as if he had returned to his youth, "or you could say because she saved my old man. My life, I thought I had a chance to thank her in person."

"Okay, I'll ask." Jay compromised; at least the reason didn't sound so bad.
