Chapter 36: Getting a terregenic crystal
Landon's p.o.v
"Please do not do these to me. Don't you understand that I love you? I love you with all of my heart and soul, I can't live without you please." I screamed my heart out to him but he didn't seem affected by my confession. He left without a word and didn't even look back, my heart broke into a million pieces.
I dropped and cried in my hand, the fog started to rise and increase. It became so thick that I couldn't see anything but I could not care to react. The man that I love has left me and broke my soul, I am feeling so cold and it is not because of the fog. I will never forget this day not even after I die, I exhale the frustration in my heart.
I get up and walk away from the spot that witnessed the heartbreak, pain, and loss. The spot where he chose to end everything with me. I trip and fall and my hand gets bruised by a tree branch but I hardly feel the pain, my whole body has gone numb. I hold the tree branch to get up, the tree branch turned into ice the minute I touched it. I let it go immediately and move away from the tree but I bumped my back on another tree and it also turned into ice.
I ran away as fast as my legs could take me, I have to get away from this forest as everything is weird and I don't want to be a part of it. One of the tree branches gets a hold of me and pulls me back to the forest, it keeps pulling me and my body starts trembling out of fear. I don't know what is happening but I am scared and I want it to end soon. I want to wake up from this nightmare and not ever remember this day but the twine around my body is a clear indication that this is not a dream.
I want to scream for help but I can't do that because no sound is coming out when I open my mouth. It is as though something is trying to stop me from screaming. The fear in my heart increases with every distance we cover despite my plights the tree keeps taking me along to wherever it is that she is taking me. I assume that the tree is a she, this situation is driving me crazy.
The movement stops and the tree drops me to the ground not even minding whether I get hurt or not. 'I am human you big inconsiderate buffoon and humans are delicate.' I curse in my head because I would dare upset a tree that is capable of dragging me to this place. Wherever this place is, I look around but I can't see anything except for ice. East, West, South, and North all I see is ice, there is no landscape and no trees except for the one that saw it fit to bring me out here. Should I ask it where she has brought me or remain silent, I have no manual on how to deal with a tree that might be alive.
I don't like these one bit and I won't stick around to watch what this tree plans to do to me. I turn around and ran away at a speed that could make me jump out of my skin. I have no idea where I am going to but anywhere is better than with that tree. I keep running until I stop to catch my breath, I inhale and exhale as fast as I can. When I look up to see how far I ran I find myself face to face with the tree at the same place he had brought me to. The impossibility of the situation hit me hard but I wasn't prepared to give up yet. With a quick flight, I was once again on the road running for my dear life.
After running for so long I stop only to notice that I was back where I started. How is any of this possible, first the things turning to ice and then the tree that brought me here, and now no matter how far I run I still end up here?
I was scared out of my wits, something is not right here and it is creeping me out. I scream loud enough to awaken the dead hoping someone would hear me and save me from all this nightmare.
The scream didn't get someone's attention but the ice underneath my feet started breaking 'just great this ice couldn't break at a better time than this' I retort sarcastically in my mind. I run away as fast as my feeble legs could take me, I try to outrun the ice but I can't and end up falling into the ice-cold water.
My whole body is freezing and my breath becomes heavy, I don't know how to swim and I can't believe that my cause of death would be drowning. I haven't even had my first s*x yet and I am dying, life is so not fair. Today was supposed to be different, I would propose to him and he would also tell me that he loves and we would share a kiss under the sun, and then we would be together. Instead, he broke my heart, and now I am dying.
I close my eyes when they begin to hurt when they come into contact with the cold water. My breathing slows down and I slowly start to drift off. Is this what death feels like, it feels like everything is a million miles away from and I can't make out anything other than the fact that I am drifting somewhere. My eyes burn from a sudden bright light that hit my visage, I opened my eyes to see what it was.
I see a white fox dancing around as the ice shaped as stars revolve around him. He looks so angelic while dancing with ice as though they are one, it is beautiful and much more. He stops to dance and I clap to congratulate such magnificent dancing. He turns around and looks at me with eyes bulging out of its sockets.
I look away from him and to the ground embarrassed that I had to watch such a private performance. I think I should apologize to him for being nosy but can it be called nosy when I woke up to the dance. Wait, where am I and how did I get out of the water.
"To answer you, you are in the heart of the ice kingdom and I got you out of the water. I also changed your clothes to a proper attire befitting of someone of your status."
The fox can talk and it changed my clothes, this means that he got to see everything. OMG, this is the worst, has discovered my secret. But how did the fox even manage to remove my clothes? What does it mean by befitting someone of my status, what is my status.
"Despite being a fox I was able to change your clothes and as for your status, you are none other than the Ice queen or should I say king," had said pointing out the fact that I am male and I became terrified. The fox can read my mind, what sorcery is this.
"I am Nuru the guardian of Ice and you are Keifer the Ice queen of the ice wolves," he said introducing himself.
"What madness is this?" I asked not understanding a single thing. Today was supposed to be my coronation day, all I remember is the queen visiting me and talking about getting me a crystal to make me a beast to protect the prince's child. If only I could tell her that I am not pregnant.
"But you can be pregnant," the fox making me look up with shock.
"Say what now?" I asked making sure I heard him right. How can I get pregnant when I am a man?
"It is possible, you are an ice werewolf now. You can be with the child if you mate with your partner, the terregenic crystal inside you has given you an identity. With it you can bear as many children as you like," the fox said.
"So I am a woman now?" I questioned and reached my hands to feel my body. Nothing much has changed, it was still my body.
"Do you wish to be, the crystal can be modified to fulfill your wish but you will have to endure another heartbreak. The tree of the forsaken only hears the pleas of those who cry tears of a broken heart," he explained.
"That is why I assume your mother made you the illusion of being abandoned by the one you love on an important day and brought you here. For the tree to grant your unfortunate soul a crystal and make you fortunate.
Congratulations, on your new identity," he added.
"Wait, why did you call me Keifer. My name is Landon," I said with confusion. He seemed to know so much and he couldn't even get my name right.
"Your name was Landon as you were unfortunate, now that the tree has granted you a crystal and made you a beast like the rest. Your identity too has changed, you are Keifer the ice werewolf king but as you prefer being a woman perhaps Kiara is befitting," the fox said word by word to ensure I understood but I was lost more than ever listening to it.
'What sorcery is this,' I screamed in internally.
