When futuristic technological advancements nearly brought about the annihilation of mankind, a potent biological weapon was devised by an enigmatic bioterrorist military unit. The superweapon was manufactured with the intent to terminate an individual(s) within the span of a few seconds, but the bioterrorists seemed to have underestimated the adaptability of the human genome. A weapon with the potential to eradicate all of humanity instead served to strengthen it. The properties of the biological weapon were introduced into the genetic codes of many human beings. The majority of humanity was transformed into ghastly genetic aberrations with hideous forms, reduced cognitive functions, and abnormal abilities, hence their name, the Abnormals. The remainder entirely absorbed and acclimated to the properties of the latent superweapon, becoming known as the Evolved. Many unaffected humans, the normies otherwise known as the Inferiors, remained and were dominated by the superior Caste, the Evolved, and their counterpart, the Abnormals. It was the New Order.
