Chapter 2: A Fresh Start
Adam couldn't keep track of the time after the robotic voice said it was going to sleep. The one time that he could see anything, his whole world was tinted an odd color. After that, most of the time he spent asleep. He was most worried that he had actually survived the fall off the bridge and was in some kind of weird coma.
After what seemed like an eternity, the voice that he had hear before finally came back.
"System booting up.... Verifying upgrade..... Complete. Host is minutes from being born into a new world. Please remain calm." the system said.
That little bit of information was enough to shock Adam to the core. He had never thought that reincarnation was a possibility. He was both excited and afraid since this would be a new life from him. His only hope was that this life would be better than his previous life.
A few moments passed and he was blinded by a bright light. As his vision cleared, he was able to see an old lady looking at him. She then passed him to another woman who could only be the most beautiful woman he had seen in his life.
"Hello sweet child. I am you mother." the beautiful woman said.
Adam was amazed that such an amazingly beautiful woman would be his mother. He continued to memorize her face so that he would make sure to not mistake anyone else for his new mother. At this time, a man dressed in glorious robes rushed into the room.
"How is my son's condition?" he asked with concern.
"No need to worry. Your boy is in perfect health." the old lady said.
The man then made his was to his wife's side and took at his new born son. The baby had light bonde hair with streaks of silver and black.
"My boy has three affinities. He will surely grow up to be someone great." the man said.
"Gregory, now is not the time to worry about his elemental abilities. You should hold your son and let him see your face for the first time." His mother said.
His father, Gregory, was a tall man with long blonde hair with some red streaks in it. His eyes were a brownish golden color and he had a handsome face.
"Hello my child. I promise to teach you the wonders of life and to always love and care of you no matter what." His father said with tears in his eyes.
Those simple words shook Adam to his core. He had never been truly loved and that simple declaration brought him to tears.
"Dear, pass him back to me. He is probably hungry since he was just born and hasn't had time to eat yet." his mother said.
"Here you go. Make sure to feed him well Diana. we want him to grow up big and strong." his father said.
After being fed, which he couldn't help but find uncomfortable, he was laid down in a crib so that he could rest.
"System, tell me how you operate." Adam said.
"Replying to host.... The system will display the status of the host when the key phrase 'status' is requested. The system may also be used to detect enemies and analyze anything the host desires. The analysis time length depends on how complex the item is as well as the hosts existing knowledge. The last open function is the memory bank. It allows the host to store and recall anything that has already been learned." the system said.
"That's quite the list of functions, but it also seems that the system can gain further functions with time. System, show me my status. " Adam said

"Seems like my Intelligence is rather high in comparison to the rest of my stats. It is probably because of my reincarnation. System, from now on, abbreviate the status names." Adam said
"Confirmed." the system said
Adam decided that he should sleep since there was nothing else that he could do at the moment. It seemed that this new life of his was going to be rather exciting.
