Chapter 1: The Shepherd and the Wall

Everyday, a shepherd goes on the fields with his sheep. He sits under a tall dark oak tree and watches over the sheep as they graze in peace. Nothing ever happened as he took good care of the sheep and made sure they wouldn't wander off too far.

But one day the shepherd dozed off under the tree. When he awoke he didn't know how much time had passed. But it was dark out. A darkness that enveloped miles upon miles around him.

Nothing could be made out. But he knew his sheep were gone. He could not hear them. He yelled and yelled but no answer. The man walked what seemed like years. Until he stumbled upon a wall. It was a tall wall made of large stones. It looked old as the stones were shaky here and there.

But this did not stop the shepherd. He climbed and climbed until he reached the very top. He looked around in hopes of spotting the white fluffy wool of his sheep. But nothing. Just darkness.

As he was about to get down, something pulled at his foot. Slowly the object wrapped around his leg. Like a snake wrapping around its victim. The man tried his hardest to tear it off. But all his efforts were in vain. All that happened after that was a scream as the man got pulled into the endless darkness behind the wall.
