Eric thought he had never beheld anything more exquisite - Seraphine was a radiant vision in snow white.
The color complimented her hair and made her eyes seem large and doe-like. He tried to burn this image of her into his memory – his beloved in the flower of her youth, on their wedding day, with his dragon scales shimmering on her cheeks and forehead. She was nervous, he could feel it, but she has walked up the aisle like the princess that she already is, gliding gracefully over the floor.
Eric only sees admiration in her eyes now - no fear or tension, and his heart skips a beat. He suddenly realized it was time for him to speak. He looked at no one else - just fixed his gaze on Seraphine and spoke only to her.
The crowd was a mere memory.
"Are you free and willing to come to me? To be loved and cherished by me for the rest of your lifespan? To be mine and forsake all others with a claim on your heart and soul?"
