...

When Nam Hiah called for a momentary pause from the job, everyone loved that.

She and her brother, Nam Hana went to take their rest inside the van, leaving Young Mirae alone in the wrecked place.

Rummaging through each body, searching for their valuable items, and moving them to the adjacent warehouse was exhausting. Not to mention, they had to do it twenty times.

That was right. Young Mirae deemed the count was eighteen, but there were two others added, which were hiding behind the cargoes.

What were these people doing before they died? Were they pulling up a meeting, and these gunmen barged in without their notice? Or were they having a good nighttime party?

As she glanced down, she gave the body another inspection. She brought on her chin and pondered, 'I might be right with the second one. Look at them, arms raised. They must have been having a great time when the gunmen showered them with bullets.'

Young Mirae was earnest to find out if these lifeless people were a part of the mafia family she was looking for. Hence, she wanted to double-check if they certainly weren't, even if she had proven it a moment ago.

But she still had not seen a single blue brooch pinned on their clothes. All she saw were tattoos on the backs of their necks: a seven petalled lotus.

'This is…'

There was no doubt she knew whose family this insignia was from. It was from the Lee family.

How would she forget the two families who long-neglected one another decided to warm up their cold shoulders out of blue, and the bosses of the families came into an oath of their heirs' engagement?

'Unbelievable, this is so unreal.'

Even to this day, she still remembered the event at the ball hosted by the Lee family precisely; as though it was a nightmare printed to her mind where she simply could not lose the memory.

Shit, she didn't know that she moved in near their domain. What should she do?

To the unexpected coming of the notification into her head, she gnawed her nails. Another problem that compounded her trouble of hiding from her enemies awakened the concern she longed buried.

Nothing other than laying low; Young Mirae couldn't — no — she must never meet these people as the last thing she wished right now was to get married!

'I will have to smile in a wedding picture, kiss my husband unwillingly, give birth to a hundred babies, and will forever forget the people who killed my family. No, I don't want that! No!'

Her mind was in a downright riot, hence she failed to notice the steps coming from behind her. However, what caught her absorption was the bloodlust undeviatingly addressed to her position.

Who could it be? Was it someone alive that sneaked among the bodies? Certainly not, the bodies were undoubtedly dead with the bullets on their heads and chests...

The broken glass sitting near one's hand glistened in her sight. She cautiously glided her way to reach for it and make it a weapon.

At this point, she wanted to slip her hand into her heel boots for a hand knife, but unfortunately, she had none hidden in her possession right now. She could not even bring a kitchen knife, as there were no sharp objects inside the fake grandfather's condominium.

'Gah, everything is beyond my imagination with that saggy ball!'

A swift clamor from an item pulled out followed by a thin click. Her ears twitched accordingly; Young Mirae knew that the sharp noise was from a gun where someone pulled the safety lock.

It only mattered a second before her head would blast and her body would flop atop the dead she was inspecting. Therefore, Young Mirae advanced at full blast and went to steal the first move.

The direct sweep of the sharp glass in hand took the person sneaking behind her in surprise. But the handgun in his hand immediately blocked her strike.

She locked a fierce gaze into the rich brown eyes that matched hers. Young Mirae could visibly see her reflection mirrored back to the sweetest chocolate eye color she had ever seen.

She lowered her eyes and caught the same Glock 19. Unmistakably, it was the handgun that belonged to the man who wanted to shoot her in the head just a week ago.

"Hello, handsome."

Her voice curled between her greet; the corners of her lips gradually bent upwards. Young Mirae lifted her chin again and shared gazes with the luscious cocoa eyes.

"I haven't seen you around—" As she attempted to trail her fingers on his face, she was instantly shoved away.

"Fuck," he cursed while wiping off his left cheek, which Young Mirae tried to touch. "Who the fuck called this crazy woman?"

"Excuse me, handsome? Who's a crazy woman? I'm in the moment of cleaning these bodies when you suddenly fucking tryna blow my head!"

"I was only checking if," he paused.

"If what?"

"If a crazy woman is squatting near the body, and I'm right."

"Oh, you also think I look crazily cute with this uniform and boots. Geez, you should've just told me—"

Young Mirae flashed her lashes and executed a cutesy act. Although she hated her outfit at the beginning, she soon found it pretty when matched with her heeled boots.

"Um, er, no," he strongly disagreed, "why are you here?"

What? How could he not see the cuteness in Young Mirae's outfit? Unbelievable, this man must be distorting the truth.

"Can't you see that I'm working? Are you blind? Oh, wait, actually it's our break time, but I chose to continue working so." Pressing her lips forward, she scoffed and continued, "What are 'you' doing here?"
