Chapter 46: Chapter 45
Sam calmly wandered through the woods in search of a suitable dense forest. He was quite calm, the choice to engage fight or not would still remain with him.
If a whole army arrives, he will simply run away. There is no way they can catch him given his current abilities.
No matter how the general's people will search for him, only the owner of another sword can find him.
Sam lay down in a tree and began stroking the cat, trying to convey to him that it would be dangerous and that he should hide.
An hour later, Sam felt the call from the sword, and soon he heard the sounds of a helicopter. And just in case, he began to move.
The helicopter was already over the forest and the skill passed on to Sam an extreme degree of danger.
Sam moved with all his might and soon a missile landed in his place, luckily the range was not large enough to hit Sam, given his timely response.
Sam began to swerve through the forest, accelerating when necessary and avoiding missiles one by one. Sam cursed this dastardly coward, he probably did not see Sam, but gave instructions where to aim thanks to the sword.
On the other hand, only one helicopter arrived. Either the general was overconfident or did not want to attract attention. In any case, this was fine with Sam.
Soon, either the ammunition came to an end, or the general lost patience, but the shooting stopped.
The helicopter hovered over the forest and four people descended. Sam hid and watched them approach.
All were equipped with armor and carried different weapons. The sniper sat in a tree and pointed the barrel towards Sam. One held an assault rifle with a grenade launcher.
The third one brought the RPG in, Sam cursed these assholes. He didn't want to run away, he wasn't going to let the general go because the situation was not the worst, at least he didn't bring the whole army.
The general held a sword in his right hand and a pistol in his left, behind his back was a shield. He pointed in the direction of Sam and gave orders. Then he turned to Sam:
- Sam you are not interesting to me, and those people in the mansion too, just leave the sword and go, it will be better for everyone.
During his speech, Sam was shot by a man with an RPG. There was no more time to think about the strategy. Sam moved out of cover as soon as he felt a real threat.
He moved to the side, dodging the shot, and then started approaching towards the man with the RPG, wagging on the move. He didn't know how long it would take to recharge, but he had no choice.
Both the major and the assault rifle man opened fire, trying to hit Sam. Sam's agility exceeded 40 units, and his strength was not small, thanks to which Sam moved extremely quickly.
But several bullets from a storm rifle and a couple of shots from the general hit him anyway.
The sniper was in no hurry and waited for a convenient moment, after which he also managed to hit Sam, but the armor did not even fall by a third.
The RPG guy was clearly surprised by the speed with which Sam was approaching. He realized that he was not in time and tried to get his rifle, but Sam moved like the wind and got to him earlier.
He tried to resist, even used some skill. But in the end he did not last even a second. Sam took off the head of the RPG asshole and felt his armor charging.
But then he felt danger again and General actually changed his pistol to an RPG himself and shot at Sam. That was a bit unexpected so he did not manage to evade that shot completely and armor took severe damage.
Immediately after that, he moved towards the assault rifle guy, he fired at Sam with a grenade launcher, which only delayed Sam, the armor absorbed the fragments.
Sam caught another shot from the sniper during the delay, and the the assault rifle guy used some holding skill, of course to no avail.
At that moment general made another RPG shot, that happened almost in no time after the last one. It was obvious that general just put out another ready and loaded launcher from his ring to make another shot in no time without reload.
But this time he was somewhat ready and managed to evade this shot almost completely. He finally got to the assault rifle guy and recharged his armor partially. The the assault rifle guy covered himself with a shield and again tried to use the skill, of course all was useless. Sam took him out even faster that the last guy. Although they had armor, it could not withstand his sword along with strength of blows.
Sam was considering making some kind of spears or just using firearms, but it was useless against somewhat decent armor, he would only waste his breath. Only his sword in a melee fight could get through almost anything.
The general made yet another RPG shot trying to get Sam while he was finishing the assault rifle guy. Then he switched to shield and sword again and stopped a dozen meters away from Sam, preparing for defense, his eyes filled with spirituality and Sam felt that the armor was starting to take significant damage.
Sam lunged at the general like a train, striking the shield and continuing to strike at maximum speed from all directions. Even tho he managed to evade yet another RPG shot, his armor was almost depleted. He did not use any swordsmanship techniques, he fought like a madman swinging swords with maximum speed and strength.
The general was in full armor, including his face, he resembled a tortoise in shell. Well, his shield was even stronger, and it was impossible to break through it.
Sam moved around the general and tried to pierce his armor, avoiding the shield. The general himself did not even try to counterattack, he only covered himself with both a shield and a sword, using his strange skill.
Sam was clearly faster and stronger, he continued to lose Armor from the general's skill, but he could hardly fight off Sam's frenzied attacks. The general continued to fight back as best he could for 20 seconds, getting more and more wounds, he had good armor and most likely a lot of toughness.
Armor was finally depleted and Sam felt like he is being burn alive. He gone crazy from the pain the very moment he felt it and started attacking even more violently trying to stop his sufferings. Sam's sword and his strength made themselves felt and he finally managed to kill general before losing his own mind from pain.
That skill was burning him only for some second, but that pain was fucking unbearable and almost made him lost his mind. He looked towards the sniper with a distorted face.
The sniper did not even try to escape, after seeing the death of the general, he threw away his weapon and was already on his knees on the ground with hands up. Sam checked on him, tied him up, and left sniper as it is, he will talk to him later.
Checking himself, Sam realized that his physical body and armor was not damaged by that strange skill. It seems like this skill were affecting his soul directly or something like that. He was still trembling remembering that unbearable pain.
That general was only at around level 18 or so but his equipment still made him a tough opponent.
He returned to the general and first of all began to absorb the sword, this did not happen immediately, but after a couple of minutes Sam lit up and the process was completed.

Sam finally laughed and relaxed a bit. It was all over. A cat jumped from the tree to him and he spun with him in a dance, he looked like a madman, but there were no witnesses, so he gave vent to his feelings.
He began to take apart the general's things, the shield was extremely good, it was thanks to him that the general held out so much in the first place. He certainly suffered, but did not fall apart completely.
The general's armor was shredded, and he doubted that he had it better than Sam himself. He took 6 rings from his hands and found a dozen more in his bosom. The rest had a minimum one ring each as well.
