Chapter 38: Catching up
Toriko was walking out of the hotel room with a smile on his face after two days of non stop labour. The women however were limping down the corridor struggling to keep pace with him. The landlady was just watching envious of them as her bum of a husband can't do that to her.
Karin was a little annoyed that even with tsunade's training she can't fully heal this damage yet, muscle fatigue. Tayuya was just annoyed by the muscle ache while the other two are annoyed for different reasons. Hana is annoyed she didn't receive the most attention so she couldn't establish herself as the alpha female of the pack while Hinata is annoyed that they'll have to return which means paperwork for her.
She'll have to write up every detail of their 2 days rest and submit it to the proper authorities (shizune, tsunade, Pakura, Kurenai, Anko, yugao and tsume). While they are walking she used the byakugan to search their surroundings. Surprisingly they had a tail, the two tails jinchuriki who is watching toriko like a hawk. Hinata tighten her grip on her hoodie making it crease against her body figure even more. "Another harlot" was the thought going through her head.
Every week they receive letters from the hidden mist from the mizukage practically demanding information about toriko so they can establish wedding dates between the two. If Hinata had her way she would start another war just to find the woman and end her, who the hell sends wedding demands including supplies for the ceremony before it's been confirmed. Toriko even though he's young is a clan head which means he has to address the issue himself and with the clan council as well as those roaches the civilian council.
Over the years Hinata has noticed their little plots and how they try to intervene in clan business such as trying to marry over clan women or making small issues blow out of proportion. Her friend naruto is a prime example of that. She'd also noticed about how Sakura was influenced by them as shown by her actions. She was placed into the clan class to seduce sasuke and voice loud opinion. She herself is unaware of it but she probably is just parroting her mother who is on the council.
Hinata and Hana are being groomed by their parents to become clan heads or matriarchs in the Yūhi clan who are still gaining power. Hinata is glad that the siblings work paid off the way it did though she feels that the akimichi clan could lay of abit.
Now they are leaving the front gate and beginning to speed up their sprint to konoha. The limp has mostly vanished but the girls are still sluggish. Toriko who noticed this slowed down and bit his finger. He slammed the ground and summoned a gigantic white wolf who the girls recognised as terry cloth. The way he panted towards toriko showed his eagerness to help his buddy. "Terry can you give us a ride to konoha, the girls are sick so they can't use body flicker". Terry sniffed and then sat down so everyone could board.
His fur was so soft that the girls could sleep on it, their time at the hotel may have got them hooked on sleeping on fur quilts instead of futon. Toriko is actually glad that his little plan is working to make them match his sleeping habits, in the cave he slept on fur for two years so he learned to love it. Now if he needs a pillow he can summon one but the girls can't. Karin and Hana pass out shortly so the fur extends and wraps them while terry maintains his swift pace.
Tayuya couldn't help but ask "toriko how can terry manipulate his fur like that?" "Well Tayuya, the wolf jutsu involves using jutsu to harden their fur and then fire it as needles but they can also use chakra to thicken it, thin it, shed it, flatten it and more depending on their needs. They also have other jutsu besides fur manipulation but this is one of the main ones".
She asked "can you do it?" "Yeah I can though it's more impressive in sage mode" Hinata couldn't help but comment "you learned sage mode!"
He looked at her "yeah why?" "Well toriko-kun, as a student of tsunade we were allowed to make a contract with lady katsuyu so some of the girls tried learning sage mode. After receiving some of your research findings about the mode lady tsunade began training in it as well."
"Oh how's she doing in it" he questioned back which was swiftly answered by Tayuya. "Her prograde is good but the results aren't very nice. She can channel nature energy which made her body younger but she then got into a frenzy about using it to refine her body like you did. Then she tried learning how to produce her own slime so she can moisturise herself but keeps failing. She lacks the time to do the meditation portion so she plans to wait until she chooses a successor".
"Interesting, how have you girls done over the years?" This made Tayuya puff her chest "well I developed my sound genjutsu and worked on my bloodline stuff. I unlocked kaguyas mind eye so I became a sensor like Karin. I also found Kushina-Sama's scrolls which detailed uzumaki Ken Jutsu so I began studying those. Karin unlocked her chains and developed a subset that allows her to heal those she wraps around."
Hinata then said "rather than say I'd prefer to show you when we return. How did yours fair".
This led to a lengthy conversation about his adventures in the forest then about the horse clan and Guiness. How he mastered sage mode and learned the Guiness punch. How his cooking progressed so he can make food that improves the body now and much more. Later that night they made camp and had some of his cooking which made them foodgasm.
Karin placed some seals then led toriko into the tent they posted which led to the group having some more fun in the night though not as lengthy as previous so they could actually run tomorrow.
