Campus during sem-break had a strangely nostalgic vibe — like the whole place finally exhaled after the academic torture we all just survived.
The trees lining the walkways were turning amber. The air smelled faintly of fresh paper and cafeteria bread. And groups of students gathered around bulletin boards or stared at their phones, checking final grades the moment the portal refreshed.
Today was grade release and enrollment day.
Meaning:
Everyone came to school even though break had technically started.
I took a deep breath as I stepped onto campus.
No exam stress. Just… life.
My phone buzzed.
Lara: Where are you??? Steven and I are already at the café!
Kate: Hurry. Before Vince and Jeff arrive and ruin the vibe.
I smiled and typed back:
Me: On my way. Five minutes.
But as I walked, my stomach tightened.
Final grades.
