Chapter 23: Chapter 22: Sweeping All Away

(AN: This chaper will be mostly on Ulquiorra's POV. The past few chapters, Ulquiorra hasn't really been the focus so I decided to change it before people complain if Ulquiorra was really the mc. Also added a new portion in the clarification chapter for the medicine and ingredients.)

Upon entering the realm, Ulquiorra noticed that his mind briefly shook. It seemed that one needed a strong enough mind to enter without side-effects. He was then greeted by a realm that had a red sky with no clouds. He could see different variations of plants and trees in the vicinity. The qi here was very rich, and was even more concentrated than the outside. Cultivating here would lead to quicker results.

'So this is a hidden realm. It seems to be some sort of high level pocket dimension considering how well it seems to have been made.' Ulquiorra thought.

Wang Yang and Yan Fei appeared beside him. Wang Yang was fine, but Yan Fei was a bit dizzy. Still, they were started looking around, and when they noticed the herbs around them, they became excited. Yan Fei was raring to have a go at them.

"Hundred year yin mushroom!! It's a valuable four star ingredient!" There are even others like the crimson leaf, soft earth wood, and more!" Yan Fei exclaimed as she was about to run over, but was stopped by Wang Yang.

"Don't just go rushing in. Who knows if there's a trap somewhere?" Wang Yang said taking Yan Fei out of her initial excitement.

Ulquiorra noticed the two turning serious as they slowly observed the herbs and plants. He looked around once more, and noticed that there wasn't anyone else near them. He used pesquisa to search the nearby surroundings, but didn't detect any other cultivators. He tried extending his range, but it seemed that an unknown force was stopping it. Ulquiorra surmised that this realm was more than meets the eye. Ulquiorra then turned his attention towards the herbs that the other two were paying attention to.

"Wang Yang." Ulquiorra said.

Wang Yang looked at Ulquiorra. He was curious why his stoic junior brother called him. He wondered if Ulquiorra noticed anything strange.

"What is it?" Wang Yang asked.

"Are there any special methods to pick up the herbs around us or can we pluck them directly?" Ulquiorra blankly asked without even looking at Wang Yang.

"Hm? From what I know, not really. One just has to be careful of tr-" Wang Yang spoke, but the next moment, Ulquiorra disappeared.

Using sonido, Ulquiorra plucked all the herbs around them rapidly, and threw them all in his storage ring as he passed by each one. Most of the times, nothing strange happened. He did notice that some plants had some sort of traps like snakes and insects with early foundation level strength, but Ulquiorra made quick work of them before they even got the chance to strike. He took their beast cores if they had one.

Ulquiorra reappeared beside Wang Yang again with an emotionless face. Wang Yang and Yan Fei froze. The area around them that was once abundant in medicinal ingredients was now barren. Wang Yang stiffly looked at Ulquiorra.

Ulquiorra looked at Wang Yang from the side.

"If there are any special ways to get herbs, then inform me immediately. I do not wish to ruin them as much as possible. It's best for us to continue forward as quick as we can." Ulquiorra blankly said.

"I-....I understand." Wang Yang said with a sigh. He'll try asking for some herbs later once they got out of the realm.

The three moved on deeper within the realm. The normally perilous beasts and traps were rendered null by Ulquiorra through sheer force. Still, don't be fooled. Even though Ulquiorra was using brute force, he still analyzed the things he saw as much as he could. The traps, creatures, and even the herb natures and behaviours were all observed by him.

Through this, he was able to learn many things. An example of this would be the Yang sun snake that appeared as he was about to pick a nearly ripe triple coloured ginseng. Ulquiorra learned that certain ingredients would have guardians especially when their are plants that are near the time of being ripe. Still, Ulquiorra merely blasted away the beast with a bala.

In short, everything was smooth sailing. They were not able to locate anybody else so far. The realm was quite empty in terms of people, but it was filled with all sorts of beasts and ingredients. There were even small forests in the realm. It can also be said that their storage rings was not empty as Ulquiorra started to share the ingredients. After awhile, they could see structures from a distance.

"Look! There's something over there!" Yan Fei said. So far, her initial gloominess was gone. She was happy as the sole storage ring in the sect was given to her, and was now filled. Still, she needed to find out more about what happened outside.

The three went closer, and found that the structures they saw were built in a manner similar to how a sect would be built. The difference was the scale. What they saw now was vastly larger and grander than the Vastmoon sect or even any other sect in Rising Dawn city.

"Could this have been some sort of super sect in the past?" Wang Yang muttered.

Ulquiorra also looked at the seemingly abandoned sect location. He wanted to try using pesquisa to search the insides, but it seemed that his pesquisa wouldn't go through. Suddenly, he sensed people approaching from the distance. He turned to look at them. Wang Yang and Yan Fei noticed the action, and looked towards the direction Ulquiorra was looking towards to.

Slowly, the silhouette of around thirteen azure robed disciples appeared. They were led by a haughty looking man that was around Wang Yang's age. Wang Yang's eyebrows when he recognized the figure.

"It's Lu Tianfeng. He is one of Azure Peacock's best disciples." Wang Yang said.

Lu Tianfeng also noticed the trio. He revealed an evil smile as he led the Azure Peacock sect's disciples towards them. They were instructed to get rid of the Vastmoon sect's disciples especially the Ulquiorra kid. They were promised great rewards. There were only two of them so this was an easy task. Lu Tianfeng also noticed Yan Fei.

'A short haired green-eyed cutie. Hehehe, she may not be the prettiest nor is she from the Vastmoon sect, but she'll make for a fun time as a bonus.' Lu Tianfeng thought.

Lu Tianfeng and the disciples stopped a few meters in front of Ulquiorra and the rest. Lu Tianfeng raised his chin high. The disciples around him did the same thing. They expected the next few moments would be of the Vastmoon sect disciples feeling despair as they would all launch a joint attack at them. Unfortunately, this would not be the case.

Lu Tianfeng was about to speak up, but suddenly his voice was cut off. The disciple behind his right side felt something splatter on him. The disciple took a look at his robe only to see red.

It was blood.

The other disciples noticed the anomaly, and took a look at Lu Tianfeng who now had one less head and a large hole on his torso. The disciples couldn't quite process what had happened yet. Sadly, they weren't given time to do so. Another two disciples suffered the same fate as Lu Tianfeng. This time the remaining ten disciples started to understand what was happening. They started to panic. Soon another disciple fell.

eight disciples left....

They started looking for the source of the attacks. They noticed Ulquiorra had some sort of red energy emanating from his left hand. They started to piece things together. Another one fell.

seven disciples left....

Two of the remaining senior disciples in the group braved themselves as they launched themselves towards Ulquiorra. The rest ran away. Two disciples fell once more.

five disciples left....

Lu Lin and Lu Fan were a part of the remaining five. They were sent here to confirm Ulquiorra's demise as Lu Zheng was confident with the amount of force they had along with Lu Tianfeng. They did not know that reality was so unkind. They ran as fast as they could. Another disciple fell.

Four disciples left....

The four were running as fast as they could, but when they looked back, they could still sense the horrible and indifferent gaze from those green eyes even from a distance. Two disciples fell.

Lu Lin and Lu Fan were the only ones left. They didn't understand how they were the remaining ones alive. They didn't have the highest cultivation, and yet they were still alive and breathing. They ran away from the demon as fast as they could. They found a small forest to run to. The two siblings decided to hide there. The two panted as their legs gave out.

"Di- Did we escape? *pant*" Lu Fan said.

"I- I think so?" Lu Lin replied when an emotionless voice rang out from above.

"Is that so?"

The twins looked towards the voice, and saw Ulquiorra standing in midair. Their hair stood up, they were about to run when both of them felt pressure weighing down on their very souls. Lu Lin remembered this feeling, and started to regret coming here. They fell to the ground once more.

"Who gave you permission to run?" Ulquiorra said as he stared down at them.

"Please spare us! Please, oh great one!" Lu Fan cried out.

"Please! We'll do whatever it takes! Both of us are only fourteen year olds! Please have mercy on us! " Lu Lin added completely disregarding that Ulquiorra's current physical body was that of a ten year old.

(AN: Forgot to add an actual age for Ulquiorra's body. Edited chapter 2 to include it. Please correct me if I added one before though.)

Ulquiorra looked at the two. He was once again comparing them to the fifteen year old orange haired youth he fought in the past. They were near in age, but completely different in terms of attitudes and resolve. The youth he knew would never beg as pitifully as this.

"Do you feel despair?" Ulquiorra said in a chilling voice.

Hearing this, the two kowtowed.

""Please spare us! Please, we beg of you!"" The two said in unison.

Ulquiorra paused seemingly pondering about something. The two looked up. They thought that it was a chance.

"Great one! Plea-" Lu Fan spoke, but was cut off as his head was blasted off.

Lu Lin looked at her dead twin, and froze.

'Is this the end? Is this how I die?' Lu Lin thought.

She looked at Ulquiorra with despair on her face. She lost all hope at this point. She just sat on the ground with her knees. Her face was wet with tears as she started to cry. The next moment, a red flash came into her vision, and then everything went black.

Ulquiorra looked at the corpses. He spared nobody. Be it male or female, child or adult; none was spared. He had heard the orders of their elders with his enhanced hearing. The disciples did not disagree with anything. They all agreed. He felt no remorse. Why would he?

Ulquiorra used sonido to return to Wang Yang and Yan Fei. The two were still surprised at what had happened. Wang Yang fared a lot better than Yan Fei. He knew that they were done for if he and Yan Fei were alone, and the Azure Peacock disciples attacked them. It was a harsh world for cultivators. Yan Fei was on the ground as she felt mortified. Wang Yang was comforting her. The two saw Ulquiorra appearing once more. Yan Fei flinched in fear. Ulquiorra looked at Yan Fei with his green eyes.

"Your mind is too weak." Ulquiorra said as he walked inside the abandoned sect.

Yan Fei froze while Wang Yang shook his head. It seemed that Yan Fei was a sheltered type of cultivator. He hoped this experience would not break her mind or dao heart. Wang Yang helped Yan Fei up as they followed Ulquiorra in. Wang Yang had another thought in his head.

'I must get stronger!'
