Chapter 12: Chapter 10
"I don't know how to feel about this," said Yu Yingyi.
Yu Yingyi was in a dress that four maids helped put on her, obviously, she was not used to the treatment and offered to put it on herself but the maids didn't yield.
In the end, Yu Yingyi was forced to give up and let them dress her.
Song Liya was dressed in traditional Chinese attire which added to her stunning beauty. Yu Yingyi found this unfair, not because of the clothing, but because Song Liya was allowed to put on her own dress.
"This isn't fair." Yu Yungyi muttered.
"What isn't fair?" asked Song Liya.
"You can put the dress on by yourself, but how come the maids have to help me?" asked Yu Yingyi.
"That's not unfair at all, many maids feared me because if they messed up once, they would be punished by me severely. That's why they never dare to dress me up after the first time," said Song Liya.
"Uh, I don't think that's something you're supposed to be proud of though," said Yu Yingyi.
She understood why the maids didn't want to dress Song Liya up, considering her personality, she was definitely the type to do that without any hesitation at all.
Even the slightest mistakes would make Song Liya turn vicious and ruthless. Yu Yingyi wondered if there was a time where she was ruthless with her but there didn't seem to be. Song Liya would only act possessive and cunning when it came to her, other than that, there was nothing else.
"Nevermind what we talked about just now, the most important thing we have to do is participate in the pre-ceremony or ritual where we both have to say an oath of truth," said Song Liya.
"I get it, I get it, but first, how's my mother doing? It's been a while since I've last talked to her and heard from her," said Yu Yingyi.
"She's doing fine, with the money I've been sending her and the guards checking up on her, your mother is guaranteed to live a peaceful life," said Song Liya.
"I see....wait, is she attending the ceremony and the wedding?" asked Yu Yingyi.
"She's not attending the ceremony," said Song Liya.
"What about the wedding?"
"She might be attending the...wedding."
"..."
"Then this marriage is not happening, there's no way I'm going to wear a wedding dress in front of my mother and kiss in front of her too!"
"I don't see any problem with that, what's wrong with it?" asked Song Liya.
Yu Yingyi sighed before answering her, "You just don't understand the embarrassment of it, moreover, I don't even think you can get embarrassed."
"That hurt you know? I can get embarrassed," said Song Liya.
"Really?" asked Yu Yingyi with a doubtful look.
"Maybe not, anyways, there's no time to waste! Let's get to the ceremony!" Song Liya exclaimed.
Without a second thought, Song Liya grabbed Yu Yingyi's hand and started heading towards the place where the ceremony was being held.
"W-wait! I can't run in this!"
"Oops."

The ceremony hall was packed, there were people Yu Yingyi recognized from the novel and people she didn't know at all.
Yu Yingyi felt embarrassed holding hands with Song Liya in front of this many people while they were walking down the red carpet.
Many people turned their heads over to see the two beautiful soon-to-be-married couples walking down the carpet with a sparkling, pink atmosphere around them.
That was when Yu Yingyi suddenly tripped on the edge of her dress due to being inexperienced with the high heels she was wearing. She never bought them or tried them on since they looked so uncomfortable and it was expensive.
However, Yu Yingyi was saved when Song Liya quickly saved her with a hand wrapped around her waist and the other hand holding her hand.
"You should be more careful, darling~," said Song Liya.
Everyone saw the flowery screentone floating around them like they were in a shoujo manga.
"OOOOOOO!"
Yu Yingyi immediately regained her composure, since when did Song Liya look that charming and since when did she start calling her darling?! Somehow, the nickname made her heart race a bit.
'Stop it Yingyi! You're only married to support your mother! Focus.'
"T-thank you."
Even though she made the resolute sentence in her head, she still stuttered.
"No problem, I don't want our ceremony to be ruined just because of something so trivial," said Song Liya.
'Did she just say that me nearly faceplanting onto the floor was trivial?'
Nonetheless, Yu Yingyi let it go and instead focused back on the ritual that was starting.
In the middle of the hall, there was a big stage where they would say their oath and at the end of the hall, the emperor was sitting on the throne watching the event unravel.
When Yu Yingyi and Song Liya finally made it onto the stage, the announcer took the mic and started speaking into it.
"Everyone! Welcome to the pre-ceremony where the two soon-to-be-married couples will speak their oath of truth to each other!"
"WOOOOO!"
"Congratulations!"
"They're both so beautiful!"
Everyone cheered for the marriage, no one had a problem with same-sex marriage since the emperor said it was fine, and no one dared to oppose the emperor.
Yu Yingyi felt embarrassed to be on stage with this many people looking at her. Glancing over at Song Liya, she didn't look the slightest bit embarrassed, it seemed as if she was enjoying the attention that was on her.
Yingyi mentally sighed, if only she could deal with the attention as good as Song Liya. But then again, Song Liya has been attracting attention to herself since birth so she was probably already used to it.
"I see that everyone's excited, before we start, does anyone have any objections with the marriage between these two?"
Right when they thought everyone accepted, a voice boomed over the crowd.
"I OBJECT!"
When everyone turned over to the voice and was shocked at who it came from.
