"Why won't you just accept me?" Kayden snarled out. Rylan shook his head in exasperation as his palms rubbed over his eyes.

"Because I'm not like you", Rylan spat out. "I grew up most of my life being tortured by rogues. Why do you want me? I'm..." He trailed off searching his mind for a word.

Kayden's eyes softened a little at Rylan's confession. "It doesn't matter what you are, I will and always love you."

Rylan looked up from his crouched position taking his palms off his eyes as Kayden's heart broke at the sight of him. The most vulnerable he's ever seen Rylan.
