Synopsis
Amaki Hikaru found himself transported into a Duel Academy that bore an uncanny resemblance to the one from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
This place was filled with extreme fanatics who believed that Fusion Summoning was the most noble form of summoning. They sought to change the minds of duelists from other dimensions through dueling, forcing them to join the “Fusion Absolute Supremacy” faction. Those who refused would be turned into cards, twisted and insane beyond measure.
Hikaru glanced at the complete set of Fusion Spell and Trap Cards in his deck box and fell silent for a while.
He nodded.
“Yes, absolutely.”
“You’re completely right.”

It's a solid yu gi oh fanfic, the characters and world feel believable. However the duels are so vanilla that I kinda lost interest. If this is your first yugi fic you will like it, but if you read yugioh fics and play games it will make you bored since the strats and decks used in these are not very interesting. Also the mc feel like card board, he's also not very interesting.
One of the best Yugioh stories I've come across. The story takes its time to establish existing characters well and create good worldbuilding. There's always this sense of growth for the main character that, even nearly 400 chapters in, still hasn't changed.
The best yugioh fanfic that i have seen!!! The story change is so fresh and awsome hoe it fuses arc-v and Gx and the MC power is the right ballance between power and balance. I bing read it in 2 days. I hope you continue
A solid yugioh book. The duels and plot feel like actual yugioh plotlines. And it does us charecters and elements from yugioh but the world has changed enough that it feels unique.
Unironically one of the best Yugioh stories around. The story takes its time and gives each character a chance to shine. I'm also surprised that different series of Yugioh blended so well together.

Despite what the Thumbnail implies, the MC doesn't main Shaddolls. He does get some eventually (Ch100+), but it's just individual ones Winda, Falco, Core, and Fusion I think?

This story, MC, and author are FUSION! If you don't agree than you aren't very FUSED! If you're going to binge read, I wouldn't recommend doing more than 100 at a time. I blitzed straight through 200+ and felt the series was slowly losing steam despite it actually improving. Reasoning being that the tactics aren't changed all that often, as in he doesn't tend to diversify the combo chains after getting new cards. He'll make new combos don't get me wrong, but the card chains are limited to the same few card selections. Like 200+ chapters in and ready/instant fusion will still almost always be used to bring out flame swordsman or dark flare knight. It chains well with his other cards, but I think he's too reliant on the same sequences that it should've been countered heavily by now. It wouldn't be noticeable/bothersome if you didn't have the last hundred chapters still fresh in memory though so it's more of a me problem. There is also in world lore reasons why the story starts out with basic deck builds, so don't get disappointed when there's no xyz or pendulum and stuff...yet! Outside that I think the series is doing a pretty good job at investing readers into the story. I especially love the ambiguity of the MC having an obsession with fusion. Is he so focused/dedicated because of his 'cheat' or was he chosen specifically because he was already on the brink? Personally I'd love it if he dove off the deep end and fully committed to FUSION!! I mean...my absolute favorite moments are when he's putting fusion on display and/or talking smack about someone's lack of fusion~!

As long as you are able to get invested into the duel's in text format is GREAT, once you get into it, the story actually tries hard to making those it as interesting as possible and I just watched the ygo series a year ago or so and every character is... well... them. every single one has a lot of effort into them and the story you can actually think of it as the alternative Isekai arc-V rather than just fanfic if you let your guard down lol. thanks for the amazing read!
