I pushed the Giant Rat corpse off of me before pulling the sharp chair leg out of the Giant Rat's skull.
The Giant Rat was the size of a dog and was quite heavy, but I picked it up and walked up the stairs to the 2nd floor of this office building. 
Once I made it upstairs I found myself at a reception desk that had a computer and some papers. I put the Rat's corpse onto the ground and carefully explored the 2nd floor of the office building.
After exploring for 15 minutes I found that the office has a conference room, 4 offices, a men's restroom, a woman's restroom, the reception room, and a Mechanical and storage room.
I found 2 first aid kits inside the restrooms, 16 Computers, Computer parts, lots of new paper sealed inside plastic bags, pens, pencils, and all kinds of office supplies.
I moved some desks out of the offices and made a moveable blockade at the stairs. I found that the stairs could go to the roof and I walked up to the roof of the office building.
Once I walked onto the roof to my surprise I found a few dirty solar panels that were connected to the building. Does that mean that I could turn on the electricity in the building?

The building to the left of the office is a parking garage and to the right of the office was an empty 3 story building.
Across the street from the office building was a church and parking lot and next to the church was a small grocery store and gas station.
The first thing I did was go over to the small grocery store.

"Mark why don't you come with me to that tent." Jodroun points at 1 of the 3 largest tents in the center. There were 2 tents to either side and a little behind each of the 3 center tents. This was a well organized camp site, The 3 larger tents equidistant around the fire. These large tents were almost twice in size once you walked in. Other then the tent Jodroun directed Mark to there was a dining area while the other one became a bath house style tent.

Just how long will it be until Mark stops getting flabbergasted over these little things? Speechless he follows Jodroun into a 2 room tent the front portion being a small study with mats on the floor. Watching as Jodroun sits cross legged on 1 of the mats and points to another directly in front of him. Mark follows along sitting the same way on that mat.

"What are we doing?" excitedly voiced Mark.

"Time to teach you that meditation technique I promised this afternoon." As Jodroun straightens his back explaining. "Posture is vital you want your spine to bridge the energies between earth and sky."

"Why is that if sleeping does the same thing, there is no spinal orientation?"

"You will need to research this on your own, as I don't have an answer other then it works." "Next lesson is breathing exercises while visualizing the flow of blood through your body." "After you feel comfortable with this, you can begin to focus on the lessons you learned regarding soul skills." "I suggest you pay attention to me assimilate your language then start your own meditating."

Attentively Mark watches as Jodroun pulls out the same soul stone used earlier that day. Cupping the stone in his hands he begins regular breathing. Posture, breathing, eyes closed, so this is his meditation technique. Placing his hands into his lap as there is no soul stone. Mark begins his own meditation. Soon his consciousness falls into a darkened place. Shadows of things slightly beyond perception zoom pass. Eventually letters slowly float around coalescing into words.

Mark is brought back by a shake of his shoulders. Foggily looking around he quickly ascertains his surroundings in the small office. Jodroun quips while staring at him. "You need more practice its been little over 3 hours. How do you feel?"

Feeling refreshed as if he's had almost a full nights sleep. "I feel great, that sub skill is text translation, how does that work?"

"A scholar soul!! How did you get a scholar soul from a beast soul?" "Oh yea! It was transformed, still doesn't make sense."

Attempting to redirect the conversation, "I feel as if I have slept most the night away. How is it only 3 hours?"

"My clans technique restores your body as if you had twice the time in full sleep." "You need at least 1 hour between meditations before you can train another skill." "So why don't you read that hunter's book for now. Maybe it will help you to work on additional training before we leave in the morning." Jodroun then heads into the other room, must be his sleeping quarters.

As Mark starts to study the book he realizes that only a small part of the text is understood. How can he translate more? Just as these thoughts emerge the book fades into sparkles that float towards his forehead. Pain begins to develop at his temples. "What the FUCK!!! What just happened" Mark exclaims loud enough to wake Jodroun, who comes running out. Yelling out in that foreign tongue that must be dwarfish. Obviously calling for guards as the 2 archers rush into the tent.

Looking around slowly Jodroun asks, "What's wrong, what happened?"

"I couldn't understand all the words, then suddenly the book disappeared."

"I'll give you another copy, but we will require additional services or 45 silver." Jodroun hands over another book that appears out of nowhere. The guards head out and Jodroun returns to his room.

Upon opening the book Mark realizes more words make sense. He somehow absorbed more of the language, but not all. How many books do I need to buy to get complete understanding? Its been more then an hour so lets see if I can assimilate my further understanding. Putting the book into the palms of his hands Mark sits in the meditative position and enters that darkened region once more.

As the words once more coalesce, his temples again begin to ache. Once the pain recedes Mark notices the 2 next to dwarfish fades and returns as a 3.

Shaken back to reality once more as the dwarf clan begins to break down camp. Thinking about time Mark checks how long he meditated for. Its been 2 hours and 45 minutes so the more often he does this the shorter it will take. Jodroun is directing the others so Mark quickly gathers himself and heads to the river. Realizing he will need clean clothes a washing up may not be in order for the day. Wait the book its gone! Great I will need another one and be further in debt.

The last tent to be taken down is the dining area. Following everyone into the tent, a lively room while breakfast is served. Mark thinks on what has happened last couple of days. Soul stones grant practitioners skills and abilities. These can be trained with sleep provided one thinks and contemplates on them. Those books faded away apparently being absorbed by me in some fashion. To get full advantage of things I need to really consider the minutia of my previous equipment. What other skills and abilities might I have? Some of them most likely no one here will have anything similar. Breakfast comes to an end as these thoughts surface, and everyone loads into the boat.

Sitting in the middle Mark asks, "I lost that book do you have any cheaper books in dwarfish?" "I seem to understand more as each book disappears."

"I have several children's books that sell for 4 silver each how many more do you think you will need?"

Pondering 2 was almost half and realizing the law of 5. "Lets try for 2, Will I be able to meditate while in the boat?"

"I have heard of people who could but until you have practiced more I doubt it is possible."

On the way the 1st book once more fades away, while the 2nd does not. As a Myth buster Mark developed an inquisitive mind. It doesn't take long for him to realize or is it assume that each level of book download allows 1 book to be absorbed per session. The 2nd children's book can be completely comprehended so most of the dwarfish tongue obviously has been acquired.

Something else Jodroun says only 1 level per session is possible. However since I was holding the book last time I meditated I gained 2 levels. Apparently the standard knowledge of soul practitioners is incomplete. Might not be myths that need to be debunked but my past should help me see what others miss. Based on the number fading then changing, proper preparation can double my training speed. But will it be enough to survive or even succeed in this strange world? I will train the basics, then work on that scanner. Hopefully someday I can return home.

Couple hours have gone by with these thoughts and reading the 1 childs book. Mark asks "Jodroun do you have another copy of that hunter's book. This book is still here don't think it will fade again."

"I will see this as an investment. You owe 1 gold and 45 silver. As I don't' have enough work for you so soon, you will need to join us while we travel until it is paid." "Since you are not part of our clan we will also charge you 25 coppers per day you spend with us." He explains while handing over a 3rd copy of the hunter's book.

This time only a few words are beyond Mark. A better understanding of how training works with a surprise. Some beasts after training for some time can learn quicker. With the earlier realization Mark concludes that soul level increases training speed. With this even though he is currently far behind other soul practitioners should only be a matter of time before he surpasses them all. Assuming this world is in a medieval age there will be fighting and none of his skills relate to surviving such.

Mark operates a online stream debunking many of the myths throughout the world. latest target the supposed vortices in Sedona Arizona. Yes great place to practice yoga but no portals to other dimensions here. RIGHT???

Little did he know that picking up a random rock would transport him to a land of myths dwarves, elves, goblins. All the things he does not believe in will become reality.

Adam was stunned, as earlier, he saw a massive number being displayed on his status window, and now he saw how OP this SSS-Grade skill is! 

He was so stunned to the point that he nearly forgot to breath as it was really breathtaking!

Of course, Adam knew of this starter pack as it was given to every chosen once invited. The ticket can be used to access the roulette, same as one Adam saw before. 

For other, it was considered mediocre as it was only of E-rating, meaning they only have a 1% chance of obtaining a violet-color gains, and high chance of getting an E-grade item which is considered trash especially to those who had an A-rating before! 

But for Adam? Now that he knew the existence of light-color, a violet-color was not attractive to him anymore. 

Aside from that, what if he activate his skill 'Extreme Luck' when using a roulette ticket?

He dont have any weapon right now so an item ticket was indeed a smart choice but upon giving it some thought, an item ticket varies from different kind of items. 

Theres the armor, weapon, accessories and so on.. 

So in general, he only had almost 30% of obtaining a weapon and what if he drew a bow or a scimitar? He cant use those weapons and on practical, it takes time to learn how to wields it. Due to this, he gives up a thought of using an item ticket first. 

' so, its skill book ticket then! ', Adam thought excitedly 

Skill book as the name suggest, contains skill of different variety. Though its like this, considering his high amount of mana, no matter what kind of skill book he obtained, he can use it repeatedly. 

Of course, theres the limitation of those skills with high mana consumption. 

But among all the tickets he had, he consider the skill book as a necessity right now, as he needed a skill which can eliminate his enemy with 'one swoop'. 

Actually, he wasnt proficient in using any kind of weapon, and learning how to use one needed months or even years of diligent training, and he didnt have the luxury to do that. 

' Im no protagonist so learning one was a hassle. ' 

So like others, he prefer being a DPS or damage dealer. Especially those mage or spellcaster which only needed a skill points in order to wield any skills!

Adam was bewildered at the mana required just to unlock the necessary skill. Aside from that, he was also shocked that this skill book contain ten skills! 

Normally, skill book contain only one skill no matter what grade it has. But upon giving it some thought, it was a SSS-Grade skill book so its not good to apply common sense on this case. 

Still, he was somehow hesitant at learning this skill as a Chosen can only have a total of 15 skills! Thats why others prefer just learning only one skill when they are low-level and just learn more higher level skills when they achieved level 700 and so on... 

Since skills cant be deleted and such, Adam was contemplating about it. Especially because the skill book offers 10 skills, meaning he can just only learn 5 more skills! 

He already had skills on mind like some stealth skills, levitation skills and such which he thinks was awesome. 

Imagine flying in the air like those on novels? It was indeed such a feat to achieve! 

After contemplating, Adam decided to give it a try as he dont have any skill book to choose from anyway, so he immediately out the skill book on his chest then absorbed the skill book...

Speechless, that was all Adam could do. First of all, he didnt expect that he would awaken an occupation by just learning a skill book, second, the effect lf the occupation was so massive! 

In normal cases, an occupation would only have an effect of increasing someones battle prowess by 20%, which is the highest to ever be recorded! 

Also, theres no option such as additional 5 attribute points per level and +1 skill points per major breakthrough ( every 100 level )! 

Now, with Adams SSS-Grade unique skill and Occupation, Adam can have 15 attribute points gained per level! Which others normally take 15 levels to achieve! 

If someone were to know this, they would definitely try to escort Adam into their guilds no matter what! 

Soon, Adam collected his thought and immediately checked his status window again.

Zephyr Collins, the next alpha to rule the Filtrian Pack, is a senior in high school. At 17, he finds out that he's mates with his guider and all time best friend Derek Steele. His mother, Iris Lace, has yet to return and it's taking a toll on his father, Maxwell Collins. 

Derek Steele is Zephyr's guider. He's been a great help to Maxwell since Iris has been gone for the past 17 years since the battle against his childhood best friend, Lucius. At the age of 29, he becomes mates with Zephyr and was totally okay with being with the Luna of the pack until he is called by Nyx and Luna to come with them to the Morinrich Forest. Usually, when the last bell of the day rings, the students would swarn out of the school immediately, while it is a little different today. Besides the teachers and the janitors who have leftover jobs, six boys from Class 3-1 stay behind in the campus. They assembled on the corridor and then headed to the teachers office for a meet up with their class teacher.

After he draws them out of the cabinet, he takes a deep inhale and blows on the surface of the books, dust seizes upon the boys in their faces, in no time, the teacher's office is covered by coughing noises. The boys cover their mouths and noses with one hand, and wave the other up and down in front of their faces.
"Uwa-Ack! Ishiya-sensei!" slapping onto his chest rapidly, Kaito rebukes, "What! Are you trying to kill us!?"
"Gomen, gomen, hahahaha." with a silly smile, Ishiya-sensei scratches on the back of his head and apologized.
Pointing at the four books, Irie shows a curious yet excited expression, "Ishiya-sensei, what are these?"
"Ah, they are Eitsuma's annual commemoration books." with a mystic smile, Ishiya-sensei revealed. He then asks, "You boys know when Eitsuma Middle School was built?"
After a while of pondering, Momo answers, "1950."
Ishiya-sensei nods, "Correct." and then he picks the thinnest book among the four and shows it to the boys, "This is Eitsuma's commemoration book in 1950."
As Ishiya-sensei mentioned, Shinji grabs over the book and starts to flip through it.
"Uwa, what an old book!" Tetsu takes a step backwards from Shinji as he sees the pages, "It's all yellow and moldy!"
While just as Tetsu hollered, Shinji suddenly waves his hand up and down in the air summoning the boys to his side as he flips to the bottom pages of the book, "Guys, look."
There, the boys surge up and surround Shinji. They squint their eyes and stare hardy at where Shinji's pointing with his long index finger.
"Class 1-1?" with a sharp gasp, the boys exclaimed.
Genshiro abruptly raises his hand and flips through the book until he hits the last page, "There was Class 1-1!" he said, "Look, the first year's classes used to be Class 1-1, Class 1-2, and Class 1-3!"
"So they did have Class 1-1 before..." in a doubtful tone, Momo mumbled.
Then, Ishiya-sensei passes the second book to them, "This one, it's from 1996."
Shinji snatches the book over and flips through it swiftly, until he comes to the pages of the first year students, "Class 1-1." he points at the page and says, "There's Class 1-1 in 1996 too."
Abruptly, Kaito and Irie snatch away the last two books from Ishiya-sensei's hands and flip through them immediately.
"This is from 1997." first Kaito mentions, but with a frown, "There's no Class 1-1, the first year's classes had been changed to Class 1-2, Class 1-3, and Class 1-4."
"What about yours?" Tetsu turns to Irie and looks at the last book holding in his hand.
"It's from 1998." Irie mentions, "It's the same with 1997, there's no Class 1-1 in 1998."
Quietly, Ishiya-sensei nods.
"1996..." there, Shinji looks at the second book and gives his surmise, "There must be a problem in 1996. The last batch of Class 1-1."
Momo agrees, "Something must have happened to them." he states, "Why did Class 1-1 disappear since then? How?"
Pointing at Momo, Ishiya-sensei raises his eyebrows and nods, "That's what sensei wanted to know too."
Tetsu puts his fingers under his chin, he does a quick calculation, "This was just twenty years ago." he mentions, "It wasn't too long time ago. Didn't we have some old teachers here, some of them taught over twenty years in Eitsuma, why don't we ask them?"
Shaking his head, Ishiya-sensei reveals, "I've been asking since I first joined the school four years ago, no one told me anything about it. They're almost annoyed by my curiosit-"
While unfortunately, before Ishiya-sensei could finish his sentence, the office's door is suddenly opened. The boys and their teacher turn to the door at the same time as they heard the door hinges crack.

Eitsuma Middle School, a school built for children from impoverished families, located at the foot of an extremely remote mountain in the outskirts, it is often called the Mountain Foot Middle School. Eitsuma Middle School was founded in 1950, it has a history of more than seventy years.

Grabbing his seven books, Hadrian places them into a pile, gets comfortable and starts to read. Picking up his first book, the one about Magic manipulation techniques related to spell creation.
As he read through the book, Hadrian started understand the genius of the author of this book. It introduces the reader to many basic MANA manipulation techniques that not only increase your MANA control but also when one learns and masters them all, they can combine them together, and they will help with the more intricate parts of spell crafting.
Reading deeper into the book opened Hadrian's eyes into the world of Magic, allowing him to understand just how deep and challenging it could be. "Okay, so I've got two magic spells for now, MANA bolt and MANA shield. Adding them to my fighting style at the moment will be incredibly difficult, I need to make sure to test both in the Dungeon later. MANA Bolt shouldn't be too hard to train, I can just shoot it against the skeletal wall but the shield will be incredibly hard to train now. I sure as hell not going to try it against any of those black knights or the silvery big boys"

Setting down the magic book he picks up the second book, the book was a manual describing basic hand-to-hand combat. Hadrian starts going through the manual, it's a well written manual. It includes many detailed descriptions and drawings explaining how to properly throw a punch and to properly kick. Going into details about how to create space in fights, proper stances and footwork.
It was an incredibly useful book for Hadrian, the skill he would hopefully learn from the book should supplement the knowledge allowing him to correctly use the knowledge.
It was not too long later that he heard the ding.

Allowing himself to digest his new knowledge, Hadrian sits there stunned. Originally he expected the manual to be kind of useful, helping him sure up a weakness. But it turns out it was a bit more important than that, while the hand to hand was great but the real winner was the battle awareness.
It gave Hadrian an incredible ability to plan his battles on the fly, greatly increasing his battle prowess.
"Holy shit that's dope, it's like my mind has been rewritten for battle.... Which now I say out loud is absolutely fucking terrifying"

Putting down the book he just threatened, Hadrian picks up the third book in his pile. It was the book Hadrian was most looking forward to, the book written by a sword master. Sitting down he opens the book and starts reading through it, the first few pages were about the sword master's experience when he first started learning how to wield the sword.
It detailed what he learned from his master and the mistakes he made and how he would have changed things, already the start of the book was absolutely invaluable to Hadrian. Giving him a massive boost to his foundation as a Swordsman, reading further and further into the book he became more and more excited, it was probably going to be the most useful book to him of the lot.

The flying sword strike was the next major thing he learned about from the book, going in-depth about how one can train to execute the technique to how to use it in different ways from sending multiple slashes out to creating different wave shapes allowing didn't effect. The main technique that Hadrian was infusing the blade with his Affinity fused MANA, greatly increasing both the strength of normal attacks and flying sword strikes.
Nearly the whole end half of the book was about sword intent and sword force, as he read more and more Hadrian gradually became more confused. Trying to understand either intent or force was most likely something way beyond Hadrian's ability at the moment, but he carried on through the book hoping either to get a better understanding or a skill related to that.
Finishing the book he felt he gained a vague understanding of both techniques, he learned plenty of technical details about them but actually understanding and executing them was a completely different thing.

A massive amount of information flooded into his mind, filling in any gaps in his knowledge and forcibly making him understand others. Hadrian sat there for a while in a daze the conceptual Knowledge of the sword intent and force while only pseudo opened his mind to a whole new way of thinking about the sword and what being a Swordsman truly was.

When humanity was on the brink and their Gods dying, a desperate attempt was made to save the survivors.
