Dracula's body stopped cold in midair as he caught sight of Urien and Krassu approaching the restaurant. He immediately landed at the end of one of the lines, and squeezed out a smile as he said, "A regal vampire like me wouldn't stoop to something like jumping a line. Master Urien, Master Krassu, it's a pleasure meeting you two here."
Dracula turned away, and the smile on his face instantly disappeared as cold sweat poured down his face. Even though it was very humiliating for a 9th-tier vampire like him to concede in such a spineless manner, there was no way that he could stand against the Lord of Ice and the Lord of Fire.
What's happening with this world? Thank heavens I stopped just in time. Otherwise, I would be receiving a brutal beating right now. These two are the ones who drove all of the ogres into extinction! With that in mind, more cold sweat materialized on Dracula's forehead.
"Little Amy used melee magic to defeat a 4th-tier magic caster today. As you can see, melee magic is far superior to long-range magic." Krassu turned to Urien with a smug expression. He couldn't be bothered to deal with trash like Dracula.
"A 4th-tier magic caster?"
"Is Amy already that powerful?"
"She's a four-year-old 4th-tier magic caster! What an exceptional prodigy! Surely even Princess Irina wasn't a 4th-tier magic caster at four years old?"
The customers in front of the restaurant immediately burst into a flurry of commotion upon hearing that. Amy was so adorable that everyone thought her to be a harmless little girl, but she had defeated a 4th-tier magic caster! All of them were surprised beyond words to hear that.
A 4th-tier magic caster was an intermediate magic caster. In the city lord's castle and the Gray Temple, someone like that could become the leader of a small squadron.
"Looks like Little Amy is a hidden powerhouse of Mamy Restaurant. When she says she is super fierce, she really is super fierce!" Harrison sighed with emotion.
"Indeed. When Parmer came home today, he told me that Amy had become the hero of Chaos School today, beating two powerful magic casters from the Magus Tower by herself, and forcing them to concede the match." Gjerj nodded with a smile.
A four-year-old 4th-tier magic caster? Looks like this little girl really is a super prodigy. I have to notify my brethren about this when I get back. We have to make sure not to mess with a supreme prodigy like her, especially when she has two terrifying masters like Urien and Krauss. Dracula made a mental note to himself as he overheard everyone's conversation.
"That's just a 4th-tier magic caster. Even a 5th-tier magic caster will be no match for Amy's ice magic soon." Urien pursed his lips in response. He wasn't enraged in the slightest by Krassu's words. Instead, he appeared to be brimming with confidence.
That declaration caused another stir among all of the customers. How long had it been since Urien and Krassu had accepted Amy as their disciple? How could she improve at such a phenomenal rate? She was most likely going to shatter all of the records established in the magic world in the future. As expected of a disciple that the Lord of Ice and Lord of Fire had fought over. It made sense now why they were willing to set aside their century-long feud to take her under their wings.
"When that time comes, even 6th-tier magic casters will be trembling in the face of Amy's staff." Krassu wasn't backing down either as he joined the sweet faction.
"We'll see about that." Urien chuckled coldly as he joined the savory faction. Freezing winter descended on one line, while scorching heatwaves swept through the other as the atmosphere instantly became very tense.
Dracula was very relieved to see that Urien and Krassu weren't paying any attention to him. As he passed by Blour, he took a glance at the latter with a hint of surprise on his face. "An elven brat?" 
"Oh, look, if it isn't a high and mighty demon." Blour turned to Dracula with a hint of mockery in his voice.
"Are you talking about me, little brat?" Dracula stopped and raised his chin in a proud manner. He looked at Blour with an arrogant expression, and said, "We vampires are indeed high and mighty creatures. We only drink blood and are all gentlemanly beings of refined grace."
"Oh really, now? I heard a vampire was forced to eat grass by Princess Irina; is that also one of your so-called vampires who only drink blood?" Blour raised a barbed question.
All of the nearby customers were struggling not to burst into laughter. They didn't know whether what Blour said was true, but the image of a vampire being forced to eat grass was absolutely hilarious.
How the hell does he know about that?! Dracula raised an eyebrow. If he were to admit that as true, he would be too embarrassed to ever come to this restaurant again. Thus, he put on a calm facade, and said, "How could something like that possibly happen? Even if it did happen, it couldn't possibly have happened to one of us vampires, and it definitely wasn't me."
"Really?" Blour looked at Dracula with a suspicious expression, wondering why he insisted on reinforcing the notion that he wasn't the vampire in question.
"Of course it's true! We vampires have great pride and character. There is no way we would ever eat something like grass," Dracula replied sternly.
"What flavor tofu pudding do you eat?" Constantine suddenly asked.
"I eat the savory tofu pudding of course… Uh…" Dracula looked at the amused smiles on everyone's faces, and he felt as if his dignity had been swept to the ground. He glared at Constantine before falling silent.
"That was a good question." Blour looked at Constantine with a hint of approval on his face. He didn't think that he would suddenly pose a question that would embarrass the vampire like this. It was quite a pleasant feeling to see the arrogant vampire taking a loss.
"You're too kind. May I ask you name?" Constantine looked at Blour with a fawning smile. He was a little frightened by the glare Dracula had directed at him, but being praised by Blour filled him with joy and confidence again.
"Blour," Blour replied indifferently before looking away.
Blour… At least I know his name now. Perhaps I can learn the secret to Shirley's heart from her brother. Constantine's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Why aren't you fighting today?"
Right at that moment, a little girl emerged from the restaurant with a kitten in one hand and a stool in the other. She sat down on the stool with the kitten on her lap and looked at everyone with a confused expression.


In Chaos City on the Norland Continent, there is a strange restaurant.

Here, elves and dwarves share tables. Beastmen are prohibited from making a din, and giant dragons can only seat around the tiny square in front of the restaurant. Even demons have to bring their own stools…

"Eat, pay, or you will be beaten to death." says a cute little girl in her childish voice as she trots forward. A five-meter tall dragon shivers when it meets her eyes.

After the service, fellow Christians shook hands with me, they all almost said one thing, it was like they were prepared to tell me this 'powerful message man!, the service was great!, whenever the Lord chooses you next time to share his word please don't make your heart to be hard, just preach to us.'
On our way home, Trevor and Lindy kept on whispering to each other, they kept on poking, and I knew something was up but they did not want to speak.

"You know what? Suit yourselves; I won't listen to whatever you've got to say now." it seemed like these two were defaming me. I'm aware of the fact that, When the Holy spirit enters you. You can never be the same as you were before, but these two. 
"Sorry my friend, if we have offended you!"
"Hey please stop at that Black and White wall,"
"What are we doing there?" asked Trevor
"That's my house, where I live." answered Lindy
"Oh it is?" I asked "But you didn't give me any direction to your house, how do I know where you live, How did I drive and come here?"
"Look Mon… you are acting strange today…" Trevor tapped me on the back. 
"… And we forgive you, we will not tell anyone." concluded Lindy I was frightened myself. I knew I was driving but it never occurred to me that I might drive and reach Lindy's house, things that the Holy Spirit does sometimes do scare me, when it enters you its strange.
I sort of found myself on a similar situation today as Ezekiel, the Spirit of the Lord led him to a mountain filled of dried bones, they had no skin, and you wouldn't even recognize a relative even if you had one.
God spoke to him to breathe on those bones and he gave life to the bones, And with my situation. Trevor and Lindy kept on talking I didn't want to attend them but I ended up paying attention to them and listened whilst I kept my hands on the steering wheel Boom! Here I am at Lindy's street, it was totally confusing.
"Hey Joe, tomorrow is Saturday, I prefer that we start early for our painting lessons."
"Any time is fine with me, just come by my house and we'll continue where we left off!"
"Ok cool see you tomorrow then."
The gate opened and a mature woman stepped outside the gate.
"Wow that lady is pretty, I suppose it's her mom," admired Trevor.
"Hey Ncane." said Lindy, meaning Mom's younger sister to be precise, she lived with her Aunt. 
"I've been worried sick, where have you been?" She asked.
"Am sorry, i should have called…"
"…I tried calling you several times, but your phone kept on sending me straight to voice mail…
"…Sorry I put it on silent when I got in to church."
"Ok, that's a relief,"

"….Actually never mind the place we wanted to visit we'll go tomorrow." Trevor was so eager to enter Lindy's home. He even had the urge of coming up with a story. 
I got upset. Whenever I tried to create an idea to escape, I always don't find my way with this guy. But then maybe it's for the best! We got into the house.
"Wow it's a lovely home you have here Ncane." Trevor admired.
"Yeah it is beautiful, I heard you kept on admiring my house and paintings so, where do you hide your work?"

Coming out of the training center, Shesmu looked around to see that most of the shadows were still practicing their skills. He then just continued walking forward until he reached the reception counter.

The receptionist at his sight was surprised. He then sat up from his seat and greeted Shesmu with a small bow.

"Your grace, this lowly one is honored to meet you. What do you require of humble me, oh gracious duke?"

At this grandiose greeting, Shesmu was confused.

Oh, Is it because of the eyes?

In his past life, Shesmu didn't know of the ability to become a noble just by changing your hair and eye color, so he didn't do it. He knew that noble players received special treatment, but for their status to be this high, Shesmu didn't expect it.

But, if this was the common treatment nobles get, then why did Leonard have such a carefree attitude. There was also that killing intent he displayed at first, maybe-

Shesmu's trail of thoughts was interrupted by the receptionist in front of him.

"Your grace, my name is Thomas. If your grace desires, we could start the process of registering you as a high noble for you to receive the skills that are yours by birthright."

Nodding to his words, Shesmu just gestured for him to continue.

Understanding Shesmu's gesture, Thomas continued.

"Have your grace ever heard about the Inspect skill?"

Shesmu nodded, faking interest in the upcoming question.

"The skill is given to us by the Goddess of Light Aida, it helps us identify basic information about the object on which we use the skill on. This information depends on what type of object you use the skill on. If it's a living being, it will display its level, Tier, basic stats, and name. If it's not a living being, it will show its durability, rarity, and possibly spec conditions. Of course, in special circumstances the skill might not work, due to the high level of the object you used it on, or due to a disturbance from another skill."

Of course, Shesmu knew all of this. However, he didn't feel it right to cut the poor receptionist mid-explanation when he was only doing his job. Plus with Shesmu's new identity, if he shows his displeasure, the receptionist might be stressed for days on end because of job security. Shesmu felt that wasting 20 seconds of his time is not a terrible price to pay for Thomas's peace of mind.

Thomas kept explaining the drawbacks and potential use of the skill for another 20 seconds before a notification appeared at the upper left of Shesmu's vision. As expected, the system notified him of his acquisition of a new skill.

"Now that your grace acquired the Inspect skill, let's start the registration process." As he finished speaking, Thomas went back to his desk to search for something. After a few seconds, he came back with a yellow paper in his hand.

"This is paper of light, but we usually call it Holy paper around here. It is used to document important information that is related to the country as a whole. Anything that is written on these papers has a backup that is automatically copied at the level of the royal palace. It is much different from the silver paper used to record information about newborns, and newly registered people of the golden generation. Those have a backup at the level of the city lord's palace of their respective city. But my humble person won't bore you with such details, your grace, let us start with the registration process."

However, even though Thomas assumed that he would be bored from these details, Shesmu was far from that. In fact, he was pleasantly surprised. This was information that he never knew. Of course, he knew that there was silver paper because that's what is used for most paperwork, and he knew about golden paper because he was invited to many high-level conferences and meetings because of his status as a high diamond Tier adventurer. But he never knew the differences between the two and just assumed that one was used by nobles and the other by peasants. He thought that it was just one of the many ways nobles used to distinguish themselves from normal people in this country. But to think that there was such a secret behind it, Shesmu would have never guessed it.

"But, let me just go find the blood stamp, your grace, and I'll be with you shortly." Thomas then sprinted to behind his desk once more, rummaging for the blood stamp. At this sight, Shesmu hid his chuckle behind his hand. Seeing Thomas being so stressed out due to the difference in status, Shesmu couldn't help but find the situation funny. This whole occurrence reminded him of his fan meetings and how awkward most of them were.

Finally finding the blood stamp, Thomas hurried over to Shesmu.
Standing on one knee, Thomas presented Shesmu with the blood stamp.

"Your grace, please grant us some of your blessed blood. So as to finish the registration process."

Shesmu rapidly complied and put his thumb on the blood stamp. The pain that he expected never came, the only thing he saw was his red blood dripping on the blood stamp before being absorbed by it. The small cut on his thumb was instantly healed moments later.

Well, isn't this the complex artifact? So many spells, just so that a noble doesn't experience even the slightest of pain. What a joke!

Shesmu was surprised at the level of ingenuity put into this small device, but even more disgusted by the noble's tendency to spend so much on such useless tools.

As Shesmu was rambling in his head, Thomas wrote some of the details needed for the registration before stamping using Shesmu's blood.

"Your grace, with this, the registration is done. This humble one will no longer waste more of your time, as the goddess Aida should have already sent you all of the information that your grace will need. If you have any inquiries about your new skills, this lowly one would be more than happy to give my small opinion on the matter. But if not, this humble one bids you farewell. "

As Thomas was speaking, Shesmu received a notification. However, he ignored it for the time being to respond to Thomas.

"I'll take you on that offer. If there is something I don't understand, I'll require your help. Farewell, friend."

With this, Shesmu made his way to the doors of the building. As he was walking he checked on his notifications.

Please, let me guide you to your resting place before your brethren of the golden generation comes. Only then will the challenge commence."

And you can make it the way you like for your own personal use. So they decided to buy furniture. And other things for it.

When Russ got the mirror, he looked at his eyes and saw no iris. He saw a red-black glow in his eyes. So he Shrugged and put his mirror away. Wait a minute! He took his mirror back out to do a double-take. Russ saw that he was a guardian. A real one! He couldn't even use his disguise ability to change his eyes. (Blitz wanted to get fucked now, so she turned around to stick Russ's dick in her pussy)

"Alright, bro. If you continue to walk this path, then I will show you the error of your ways." Desi said in an intimidating tone. Desi then looked at his brethren. "Get him boys! Show him what we are all about. And when you are done beating him up. Make him watch how real guardians can fuck his wife!"

We are not allowed to hurt humans, but you, Fragment, and Kilo are fair game. And we all have followers that can kill your flag's losers in a blink of an eye. Just sit back and take your punishment like a real man, bro."

"Aren't you all forgetting something?" Russ asked them. "If any of you plan on getting on my good side. Or even use the silver coin for your own gain. You can forget all of that if any of you touch my flag. If you become an enemy of us. All deals with all of the dealers we'll go straight to the house. So if you plan on getting money from the coin it will come back to our pockets instead. Even if you win a flip."

The ones that actually wanted to use Jeopardy or the coin stopped and backed away. While All the other Guardians stopped and waited.

"What? What are you talking about?" Desi asked Russ. He looked around and saw his brothers. They had an unsure look on their faces. Some of them have the face that says 'You're on your own bro.' While some looked like they were willing to fight their own brothers. For this chance to get on good terms with Jeopardy. Desi thought about attacking without them. But he's started to get the feeling if he attacks. His own brethren would defend Russ. And ally themselves with Russ.

"If I were any of you. I would tell all of your followers to stop going after my flag, right now. Any attack against the flag would anger me. And you'd see my Fury." Russ said with a hateful tone. Some of the Guardians immediately started messaging their followers.

Everybody hated walking up on a Monday morning and so did Grace P. Santillan. There was no work for the last three days and she was fine waking up late. While her superior Dr. Jose P. Gatbunton simply delegated almost all tasks to her, Grace was untiring in giving her service to the school. It was always to her that the kids run up to whenever some medical attention was needed. They loved her, particularly that she was kind and modest. Though she moved slow, she was always precise and meticulous with her actions. She believed that there was no room for mistakes for people like her. Other than her commendable work ethics, she also looked pretty, demure, and really young at 25. Unlike her, Dr. Gatbunton was loud and careless. Despite being in his mid-40s, he looked older with his gray and untidy hair, unkempt clothes, and oversized glasses. He also always kept himself locked in the clinic office, leaving Grace to do all the chores. In fact, the students and teachers rarely saw him but they knew he was present because his old tan car was always parked by the clinic.

Grace had no issues working with Dr. Gatbunton. Subangdaku was a small rural district that there was actually not much things to do everyday, except when there were scheduled medical activities. Besides, she enjoyed the company of kids. She had no problem whatsoever dealing with children of any age, possibly because she had a number of little siblings.

Back at home, she had two little brothers and one younger sister. The girl was already in college, taking up education. Grace hoped she could graduate that school year. The older brother was a freshman in high school while the younger one was in fifth grade. Life was hard for the family and so Grace needed to contribute in the family's funds. Both her parents were engaged in small businesses whose income were not always reliable. Thus, Grace felt obligated to help, especially to her younger sister.

"You see, Miss Grace," Cecilia spoke up without being acknowledged, "a meteor just landed here in the district. It could contain allergens and unknown substances that could trigger different ailments, particularly those affecting the respiratory system of the body."

"Dr. Alvarado, the great scientist, met up with the health officials yesterday," Tara added. "In the emergency meeting, he recommended to take precautionary measures to prevent possible spread of diseases caused by the meteor. The mayor agreed and we are here to assist in conducting these measures."

Grace recovered from her initial shock and listened to the two women. Only then she was able to size up the two. While Cecilia looked regal and authoritative, Tara was cheeky and aggressive. The former seemed to be in late thirties while the latter appeared to be at the same age with her. She decided she would get married early to start her own family and give her children so much love. she swore she wouldn't play favorites with her own kids when she had them. She met Sam while hunting for college. Boy meets girl then boom! A love story. A catastrophic love story for another day.

While in high school, Hillary's best friend, Grace Dennis was the cool kid. She had many friends and always managed to be in one trouble or another. Hillary, not one for trouble, had to always save Grace's neck. Until one day.

It was chemistry class. Grace and Hillary crushed on the chemistry teacher and always sat in front. That's the only class where Hillary decided that front row is the best. On this day, Hillary came in early and saved a spot for Grace. Grace rarely makes class early. She takes the back gate through a hole they discovered close to an old school building. Both girls hang out there to share their stories, secrets and tried smoking there once. Hillary had hated it. Class started, still no show. Hillary decided to go look for Grace at their hangout. Dust and debris still fell as she approached quietly, then she heard voices. 

"....and what do you know about that?" - a male voice said
"nothing" Grace answered shakily.
"What's your name?" - the first voice asked
"Hillary Trent" - Grace reluctantly answered. 
"Well, Hillary. You also caught me. This girl stole something from me. I was just trying to scold her"

Hillary was taken aback. Grace must be in danger. she was torn between running to get help and leaving her friend. She decided quickly. Looking around, she saw stones but none was big enough to render an adult helpless. She was beginning to sweat. She moved closer to the voices. 

" But she is bleeding"
"It's just a little blood. She will be okay"
"What are you going to do to me?"
"Do you want to end up like her? " he sneered creepily. Then he kicked the girl sprawled on the ground. 
Suddenly the girl bit the man on his leg. He screamed in pain and dropped the long stick he had. Then he grabbed the girl by the hair and repeatedly punched her. Grace, in her panic, looked around and saw Hillary beckoning. However, Grace picked up the wood and hit the guy twice. He collapsed on the floor and passed out. 

Hillary ran towards Grace. Grace wouldn't stop crying. "What happened? " exclaimed Hillary. "omg, Hillary. I think I killed him".
"omg!, who is she? what happened?"
"I came to check you here and walked in on him beating up the girl"
"Is she okay?" Hillary wanted to run away but couldn't stop staring at the girl. She touched the man's chest. "He's not dead"
"Let's run away Hillary"
"We can't just leave her. What if he wakes up?"
"I don't know...oh God!"

Hillary pulled the girl by her shoulders. Grace lifted her legs. They dragged her out into the open. Classes were still ongoing. 
"Hillary, what do we do now?"
"We need to get the teachers and the police. Grace you stay with her, let me get a nurse from the health department. Then we can go report to the principal together. Hillary rushed quickly to the school clinic. In few minutes, she rushed back with some medics wheeling a bed for the sick. 
Hillary noticed that Grace had disappeared. 

The girl was wheeled away into a waiting ambulance as her injuries were too much for the clinic. The nurses asked her for a report. She told them what she knew. Then the head nurse walked with her to the principal's office to report. They asked her to lead the way to where the man was. He was gone by the time she got there.
She then ran to the class to get her bag and Grace. Another session had begun. She asked some of their mates if anyone saw Grace. "Did she come today?" many asked. Hillary searched all the rest rooms. 

Hillary walked back to the principal's office. She asked to call Grace's home. Grace's mother picked. It was put on speaker. Thank God!  
"Hello, Mrs Dennis. This is Hillary. Is Grace at home?"
"Of course she is home. She felt under the weather earlier and couldn't come to school today"
"uh? Can i speak to her ma'am?"
"No. she's not well. She'll see you in school when she is fine." she hung up.

Something is not right here. "Please let me go to her home to check on her. There must have been a mistake."
"Are you sure it wasn't you that beat up that girl?" the nurse asked.
" Would i have run to get you if I did?"
"That place is out of coverage. We can't verify any of what you said."
" How is that my fault?"
The principal raised his hand to stop them. He had been deep in thought. "Why did you go there Hillary?"
"Grace and I hangout there sometimes. We had a class and I went to get her"
"Why would you go get her?"
"I can't explain that to you. it was important for her to be in class". Their secret crush was their secret alone.
The principal sent for the Chemistry teacher. He verified that Hillary had left the class at a certain time but he didn't see Grace at all. Hillary was detained and her parents were called.

"What about the girl?" the principal asked the nurse.
"One of the school nurses is with her. The nurse recognised her as one of the senior students. She comes in with sprained wrists and hurt fingers a lot. She's a trouble maker too, that one."

"What is she saying about this incident?"

"Nothing. She never tells the nurses how she gets injured. I hear she lives with her mother and step father"

"Have you called them?"
"They don't have a registered number"
"Great!" the principal retorted sarcastically. 

Hillary's father went to the principal's office while they got her out of the detention center. Her father was livid. 
"so, what, you are doing drugs now?"
"what?" Hillary looked at the principal. 
"We found marijuana where you said a man would be found"
"I don't know anything about that."
"Well, the doctors also found traces of this with the injured girl. Are you sure it was not a case of weed purchase gone wrong?"
Hillary didn't answer. She just thought to herself. " Grace"
"Well Mr. Trent, we will be making a full investigation on this as one of our senior students is badly injured. Hillary should be kept at home during this time."
"understood" 

He walked out with Hillary.
"Dad, I didn't do any of that. Grace was in trouble. I had to help her"
"Well where is Grace now?"
"I called her home. Her mom said she's sick. Something about that is not right. Dad, let me go see her"
"You are not going anywhere Hillary. Your mother should know you're smoking weed now."

No one would believe her. There was no one where she said a man was. There was no trace of Grace in the school on that day. The injured girl was not talking. She was a total disappointment to her parents. Yet, she held on. Grace would come around. She just needed time. 

After two weeks, Hillary was called in to face the School Discipline Committee. There was Grace and her mother, Hillary and her father and the girl they saved. A woman sat by the girl, Hillary assumed she's her mother. Hillary looked at Grace. Grace wouldn't meet her eyes. 

They asked the senior girl questions. She wouldn't answer their questions. Then her mother shoved her. "Hillary Trent and I fought over something." she muttered. That was the only name she remembered. She remembered the girl had said she's Hillary Trent while her step father beat her up. She felt sorry but her mother wouldn't let her say the truth.

Grace's mother spoke up. "I don't know why Hillary keeps mentioning Grace. Grace was not in school. The doctor's report is here." She handed the report to the head of the committee. "Grace is an excellent student. I don't know why she would hang with a girl like her".

"Hillary, what do you have to say?"
Hillary was so shocked but she was calm. Grace was not speaking. She remembered truly that Grace had given her name to that man. Who was he and why is that girl protecting him? 

"Who is he and why are you protecting him?" Hillary asked.
They girl wouldn't answer. 

"Grace?" Hillary looked at Grace. She was wearing a black leather jacket they both used to admire and said they would save money to get on their way home. 

"Your jacket looks nice.." Hillary said.
Grace started crying.

"She's threatening my daughter" Mrs Dennis exclaimed. The committee asked them to leave as there was no reason for them to be there. The girl had mentioned only one name- Hillary's. 

"We found marijuana at some spots around where you had a fight. Who did it belong to?"

"It's not mine and I didn't fight with anyone" said Hillary

The girl looked at Hillary. This girl's voice is stronger than the girl who was talking while she had been injured. But she remembered seeing her face when she lifted her. So who was this girl and who was the girl her step father caught with weed?

"It was mine." The girl answered.

The committee sighed with relief. It had taken too long, they wanted to return to their schedules. They made a decision to expel the girl and suspend Hillary for a session. Hillary's father thanked them as they walked out of the room. At least she wasn't expelled. He walked out, leaving Hillary to go home by herself.

Hillary just sat there, quiet and confused. Then she heard a slap. The other girl's mother hit across the face and walked out, looking at Hillary like dirt before storming out. 

Hillary stared at the girl. She looked at Hillary and managed a weak smile. 

"Are you really Hillary?" She asked.
"Wow...what a question after getting me suspended"

"Well my step father caught you with weed. You shouldn't smoke weed. You deserved that"
"That was not me!"
"But the person said her name was Hillary. "
"That was Grace. She's my best friend"

"I guess, now it's 'was' "
"What do you mean? "
"She was your best friend" . 

Hearing that, Hillary's tears stung her eyes. She understood what happened to Grace. Grace's parents were so restrictive that Grace felt suffocated. She had started picking bad habits up because she felt rebellious. Yet she was a smart girl. Hillary always felt proud of her smart friend that she let her get away with some of these things. Each home with its own trouble. 

She was sure that Grace had gotten weed into the school now. She must have walked in on that man hitting the girl and he found the weed on her. This girl said the man is her step father. Well, no one would believe her anymore...she couldn't tell anyone about this.

So this girl is protecting her step father right? Well, she would also protect Grace. She wasn't very school keen anyway. It's only right that Grace should not have any hiccups with school. It's worth it for her best friend.

"I think we should leave now" the girl said.
"I...uh...i am sorry you were expelled"
"it's not your fault. I am sorry you were suspended for what you didn't do too. But no one would believe us if we changed our stories now. Hillary, right? I will see you around."

"What's your name?"

"Carrie. Carrie Hughley. Bye Hills"

How will Hillary, a released prisoner, reconnect with the most precious person in her life?  How far can you go for your friend? What do you do when the truth is too horrible to tell?

Deep in the endless sea, a sight that would shock any Angarian was slowly unfolding.
A team of three were haphazardly floating all over the place while engaged in a strange activity.
Of them, one man's eyes were closed, and he seemed to be concentrating acutely on something. His companions glanced at him occasionally, and each time they saw that his expression was unchanged, one of frustration would come on their own faces.
Still, this would only stay for the briefest moment before they would be engaged once again in the task that they had been given- to fend off the creatures which really, really wanted to taste humans after a long, long time.
They were already beyond the point of no return, and they would soon approach the point from where even Heroes were said to not come back once they crossed it while filled with confidence in their power. Even now, they were being assaulted left and right by multiple Warrior level enemies which, when combined together, would easily put up a fight against any Champion from the continent.
The only saving grace was that they were but a speck in the vast expanse that was the Endless Sea. At the place they were in, there were many major predators which roamed around, looking for their next meal, or the next fight to make their blood pump, meaning that not many weaker creatures would dare to go around freely. Hence, they would occasionally get periods of reprieve, but each time this happened, they would be followed by the most intense bouts of fighting and escaping.
So far, in the three hours since they had set out, they had already come close to dying thrice. The first time, they had been targeted by a school of fish which were individually just at the Warrior level, but when combined together, they had the strange ability of amplifying each of their powers and shooting forth an attack from their mouths which accelerated to such a speed that it looked like a laser beam streaking through the water. They had come upon an especially large school of these otherwise weak creatures, and being targeted by an attack that would even severely injured a Hero realm individual had made them hastily run back to safer waters before waiting for the school to pass so that they could go back to the place where they were supposed to search.
They didn't even know exactly why they were searching in this place, because their companion had only told them that even he didn't know the exact location. He said that he would get more clues after they went to a certain place, which was where they were, and the reason behind this was that there were varied reports regarding how one was supposed to get to this place which would normally be avoided by anyone who was sane.
The second had been an encounter with a Peak Champion level Great Shark, and even though they had thought that they would be able to fend it off and wait for it to give up on them and look for easier prey, it never happened, and the attacks of the Shark only kept getting stronger. It was then that their companion told them that this was a Shark which was soon approaching the Hero level, and that had led to them beating another hasty retreat.
The third was the most harrowing of them all – it had looked like a normal encounter with an Amateur Champion level Great Shark, and they had even been having fun while beating it back and seeing it mash its teeth with frustration. They saw it leave after a bit, and they had even laughed between themselves thinking that they had scared away the thing quite easily.
Yet, what happened next was something that they would never forget.
After a few moments, that same shark had been seen coming towards them, and they had thought that it was simply back for another round. Hence, they had paid no attention to it, but to their shock, they saw their companion quickly stand up and say that they should run.
Soon, the reason behind it became clear- the Shark that had run away before was now being followed by the largest one they had seen yet, and it looked like it had been quite enraged for some reason.
On looking closer, they found out why that was the case- quite a large portion of this shark's fin was missing, and a part of it was jutting out of the mouth of the one that had run away before.
They had barely managed to swallow their shock and flee, before finding out that the one that they had almost been targeted by was a specimen with a rare mutation where it had power beyond its level. It was almost like a human being born with extremely great potential that would allow them to wield more power than those that were at the same realm, and if they had stayed, they would definitely have lost any fight that ensued.
It was then that they realized that these Sharks were intelligent enough to decide to take revenge in case they found a situation where they were on the losing end. Instead of giving up and moving on like one would expect from animals in the wild, these things actually held grudges.
In this case, it is obvious that that Shark had attracted the larger one in the hopes that they would become the prey of its brethren, all while it looked on with glee.
Thankfully, they had already planned and trained in top-notch escaping methods before coming here, and that had saved their skin once more.
From then on, they changed their methods to fleeing for short distances in case they found creatures like these attacking them, and in other cases, they would try to stay within the area of where they were supposed to be while still aiming to go beyond the senses of those that were chasing them.
Although Daneel was watching all this, his main attention was on the search that both he and the system were undertaking at the same time.
Typically, he would have asked the system to do the searching while he helped his companions, but he had found a way to supplement the efforts of the system rather than leave everything to it.
And that… Was through the World which he now commanded.
Because he had his companions with him, he was empowered to use the other form of his Champion Path where he could ask the World to do certain things for him, such as make slight changes in the elementary particles in an area in order to check for anomalies that would indicate that he might be close to what he was searching for.
He carried this out in one direction, while the system checked the other. It was also scanning using its anti-surveillance module, and according to it, its resources were stretched to the maximum.
Of course, that had been followed by another scathing message about how he should upgrade the system if he wanted more from it, and Daneel had had no option but to ruefully shake his head and wail to the Heavens silently that he would do so, in a breath, if he could.
Alas, there were no options available to him right now to gain experience points, except to wait for the 'Words' that he had given to come to be.
Well, that was really something to look forward to.
They had already been at it for three hours, so Daneel decided that it was time they took a break.
With a nod to his companions who put on expressions of relief as they saw it, Daneel sent a message to the system.
"Activate Safe Haven."
[Acknowledged. Activating Ancient Safe Haven Protocol.]
As soon as the reply was heard in his mind, the system cast a series of spells with blinding speed.
First, they were raised from the surface of the Sea, and as they watched its murky depths move farther and farther away from them, they soon reached the sky which was filled with lightning that could kill a Champion outright.
Yet, a unique spell was deployed which conjured something almost like a lightning rod that attracted all of the chaotic bolts around them to a place a bit away from them, while they went through the clouds safely.
The problem with this method was that it would only work for a little while, and if this were not the case, Heroes would have had no problem going farther and farther beyond into the Endless Sea instead of returning with the fear that they might die if they did not do so.
The small period of time for which it was effective was enough for them, though, because the spot they were aiming was not far away.
They soon reached it, and as soon as they entered, it was as if the entire world around them had changed.
First, the sounds of roaring winds and crashing water that they had gotten used to after spending so much time on the Sea had disappeared, and they couldn't help but admire the charm of the silence that replaced it.
They were in a place where the sky was calm, but around them, they could still see the roiling thunderbolts which almost looked frustrated as they could not smite them into dust.
It was almost as if a transparent barrier was keeping all of them away, but the truth was that there was no such thing – it was actually a formation that was making all of the dark clouds flow around the place that they were in.
"This was made by the Emperor after using a large chunk of resources that we cannot even imagine in this age. The principle here is that this place is tethered to an object made of Ker Roots which is placed above us, and using it, a formation was made which repels the clouds and the lightning bolts by using the concept of opposing forces. It is one of the most expensive things that have ever been created in the Empire, because Ker Roots were rare even then, and its main purpose was to act as a place where those who were building the stronghold that we are searching for could rest."
As Daneel said the last sentence, the eyes of Faxul glowed as he asked, "So you already found it?"
Sighing and shaking his head, Daneel answered, "If that were true, we would definitely be inside it by now. No, I don't know exactly where it is, which is why are we are searching, but I have confirmed, especially by finding this place, that we have chosen the correct route. I guess the others were just attempts to waylay those who might try to come here, placed in the records either as a prank or with more nefarious intent. Well, that doesn't matter- the entrance to the place we want to go to was made so that it would only appear and disappear at completely random places for completely random periods of time. The stronghold cannot be reached by any other means – it is completely closed off, and it is only this entrance that must be used. Only those who are within can tell where the entrance is at any point of time, and this was a method to make sure that invasion would be almost impossible- if those within could not communicate its location, that no one could enter. So… What we're trying to do is find it. The only good thing is that because of the overall decrease in the Energy level, the efficiency of the formation must have gone down, which means that the entrance will stay for longer periods of time. I hope that I would be able to find it by randomly searching around, but I've realized that it's just too large of a place to search, even though there is only a single swathe of area where the entrance can appear."
Saying this, Daneel sank into deep thought, and the others tried to think of ways, too.
The king didn't need to mention what the difficulty was- each person only scan a limited area around them, and it was only if this entrance came within that area that he could probably detect it.
Because the Endless Sea was so vast, it would be an impossible task to cover it all, especially when the location of the entrance would keep changing. If it were stationary, they could do a blanket search, but sadly, that was impossible.
Finally, giving one last firm shake of his head, the King spoke, and for some reason that they couldn't fathom, his words send a chill down his sovereigns' spines.
"I didn't want to do this, but again, I have no choice. Well, it is a good idea. Boys…its time to spice things up. So, answer me this…which of you would like eating fish more?"

A college student struggling for cash opted for an experiment which was advertised as safe but paid a lot of money. As soon as he was strapped to a chair and had electrodes placed on his head, he fell asleep but woke up to this robotic voice in his head.

With these words started Daneel's adventures in an unknown world.
