The white fog instantly engulfed the entire Koh Chang like a tornado and just like the other remains.
Those tour guides and boatmen who had just left Pattaya still had not recovered from the shock. Had the Golden Foundation not chased them away in advance, they could hardly survive in the remains.
Unlike the Heavenly Network, the Practitioners here would never put in much effort to save commoners for selfless reasons.
On the other hand, at the Beimang remains, the Heavenly Network spared no effort in rescuing all ordinary soldiers inside. After all, an inaccurate aim of the bullet would be completely useless against the skeletons.

How big must the remains be for them to be so scattered? Lu Shu's brows knitted together as he tried to distinguish the slight difference in energy waves in the atmosphere. However, there was no clear indication of any variation in the Spirit Qi concentration.
Then, Lu Shu raised his hand in secret to summon Li Dian's compass, but even the compass failed to identify the core region.
This was unprecedented. Who would expect the abnormally uniform distribution of Spirit Qi in this remains?
Then, how could he confirm the location of the core region?
Meanwhile, the other two had already started a conversation. As far as Lu Shu could hear, they were actually acquaintances!

Refusing to buy it, Tandy tested the water with a few other questions, only to receive the exact same answer.
Then, he whispered to his partner, "He doesn't understand English. Although we are from different organizations, we can totally join forces now and test that Asian's capabilities. If he is weaker than us, we'd better wipe him out before looking for resources."
Despite their low volume, it was completely audible with Lu Shu's extraordinary hearing.
"I agree. If he is stronger, get rid of him," the other Caucasian said.
The two were communicating openly in English with the assumed language barrier as their defense. They had met each other in Europe as two low-level individual Practitioners. In fact, the environment was not so friendly overseas and violence was a common scene. Thus, it was their subconscious reaction to exterminate the weak.
As a matter of fact, they were considered rookies as well, both at the peak of Class E. But in their eyes, the bare-handed Lu Shu did not seem like an expert either. Which expert would not bring any magical weapons with him?
Among unaffiliated Practitioners, the two's capabilities were slightly above the average.
Besides the Metahuman was a Practitioner. He asked Lu Shu with a kind smile, "ABCDEF?"

The two men drew a startled breath. How unlucky must they be to bump into a Class C pro?!
Before they could recover from their surprise, Lu Shu added, "I like C-Cup!"

Who the hell asked you what you like? We were referring to levels! Is it the right time for such discussions?!
Tandy explained again patiently, "You! ABCDEF?"
Lu Shu mused for two seconds, frowning, "ABCDEFG, HIJKLMN, OPQ, RST…"
Why did you start singing?! The Caucasians were utterly confused.

μια ομορφιά της αγάπης; Mia Omorfiá Tis Agápis. That's my real name. I'm adopted. Thoughts hurdling around in my head. I'm adopted. I'm adopted. I'm fucking adopted. I scan through the adoption form over and over. The monster isn't even my real father and yet he treats me this way. As I look back on my life I realize I don't have the same eyes as neither the monster, nor my 'mother', in fact I looked nothing like them. I guess I never really cared about differences since I was 10. I read over my name a few times and realize it isn't English nor Spanish.

I live in Madrid, but the monster speaks English with me being his first language. I speak both, but as I look at this, this name, I feel like I know it. Like an meaning behind it. I say the foreign, yet familiar name, and it rolls off my tongue as if a regained knowledge. 

As I stare at the scripture of writing in my hands for a while longer, I hear the door slam shut. I quickly grab a broom and stand in the hallway, not before making sure it was in the perfect order, as it was before. Cleaning the nonexistent dust, I keep my head down, a habit I've developed over the years. Stomping sounds through the house as it stops right in front of me. I flinch inwardly, not making eye contact. "Get me some tequila from the bar." He snarls throwing a 20 at my face. Just as I am about to protest, I stop myself. A punishment would be more painful than going to a bar. He got me an ID just for these occasions. 

I am currently 22. Most people in their 20s are living it up, doing there studies, and having jobs. Any of those would be better than what my constant day consists of. Hell, I don't even remember the last time I ate. Life would have been so much more simpler if the incident didn't happen. Everyone would be so happy, I would have had friends, a happy loving family. And perhaps even a boyfriend. But before it gets any further, I quickly shake the saddening thoughts out of my head and make my way out the door. 

The chilling breeze brings shivers to my spine. Goosebumps trickle down my body. I start walking towards the big bar a few miles away. The bar was the biggest club of Spain. 'Lujuria' was the name, meaning lust. As I walk, stumbling a few times, the street lamps flicker with an eerie white light above. I hear a bottle shatter to my right, and swivel to find a man grinning with revolting yellow teeth. His bloodshot eyes signal he's either high or drunk. With a Cheshire Cat smile, he slowly steps closer. "Well isn't it my lucky day," he said in an revolting manner. "I've gotten myself a pretty little girl." I shrink back. "Ah submissive I see, just the way I like 'em" He slurs crawling closer. "I do bet you have a tight little cunt on you, don't you. Maybe even a virgin?" He beams sickeningly. 

Just as he is about to catch hold of me I sprint toward the bar in the fastest manner I possibly can while sustaining injuries. He yells roughly and starts running after. I cross the street in hopes of losing the crazed man. As I glance back, I see a light flashing and a loud car horn going off. Thump. He falls and rolls to the ground blood spilling. The driver jumps out and assesses the situation. Due to the psychotic man's groaning, I can infer he is alive. And with that, I continue on my journey toward the sound of beating music and cheers, while hyperventilating.

Once I've calmed down, I hear that the notes of the music get louder; I soon recognize it from the times I have come here for my fathers bidding. 'Chantaje'. A/N; song up top. It's a good song, in my opinion. But I don't dwell on those thoughts as I near the entrance. Standing in the line for a few minutes, I make it to the front and hold up my ID. The guard nods, but I see him silently judging my gruesome outfit. My shirt is torn, some of my cuts probably leaking, and pants are now a murky red color. Caring not for it, I make my way to the bar. As I look up I see a piercing picture of two maroon eyes. Intriguing, perhaps contacts, but something in my gut tells me that they aren't. However, my gut also thought the monster of a father would love me, so I'm clearly delusional.

Continuing, I start to feel light headed, the lack of blood, food, sleep, and energy are finally getting to me. With one more look into the curious strangers eyes, the darkness consumes me.

She was a simple quiet girl, but not for the reasons you may think. Dealing with an abusive household is tough, especially when you are forced to get drinks from the biggest bar in the country. But nothing could go wrong, except for getting beaten for non-existingly being late, right?

He was always lonely. As misfortune follows him, the story and plot always ends the same. Alone. Coming to a bar to fix his problems, he downs his creations, to give him a taste of forgetting. What he doesn't expect is to see her.

She finds her escape.
He finds a plot twist that may be the calm to his madness.

"Four!"

Here I am, lying down on the canvas. I hear distorted cheers of the audience. I'm dizzy and I feel like going to sleep… did I drink warm milk? 

A memory then came inside my mind. It was… unpleasant. I remember myself curling my body against a temple pillar, desperate for warmth… and food. Life here in Thailand is hard, even harder without parents. I didn't have a name, so I gave myself one. Chatri Pricha which meant "Brave Knight", and "Clever". I wasn't allowed to sleep inside the temple, because I lost in a small bout.

Parents usually send their children to Muay Thai temples so they can tend to their farms. I could have been a Farmer, but I have no choice.

"Seven!"

I feel really sleepy right now as I remembered memories leading up to this bout. Should I stand up? I'll just get hurt more-

*thud* *thud* *thud*

I look over to the ropes in front of me. There was my coach slamming his hands down to the mat- I recognize this… our Revival Rhythm!

More *thuds* came and I had no choice but to stand up. With all of my might, I rolled to the side and stood on my knees and hands. I willed myself into standing up- pushing off of my hands and standing on one of my foot and then the other, before-

"Ten!"

I hear a bell ring… and the referee waved his hands out, signaling that it was… over. I… lost, even before I can stand up.

My gym mates rushed over to my side and checked if I was okay. I told them that I was just suddenly down- and they told me that I was caught with a lead left hook to the chin as I changed angles… I see.

The referee then came to me and grabbed me by the wrist, along with the winner. The winner's hand was raised and I congratulated him on winning- but it hurts. All of that training, that hard work… taken by a single blow. I have a weak chin, huh?

My gym mates then assisted me to walk off the stage and into our team's changing room. The room is quiet as they assisted me in taking off the gloves and the hand wraps.

"Don't let it get to you, man. He's a strong puncher- and you just got caught in the wrong time.", my cut man stated in Thai.

"I'm sure you'll-"

"No.", the main coach stated as he interrupted my cut man.

The main coach then looked at me as I sat down. He then tapped both of my shoulders.

"Chatri… you're a good man. You did your best, honing the techniques I taught you. You have great defensive and offensive footwork, fast snapping jabs, good clinch game… but."

The main coach took several seconds to continue.

"You… can't take hits very well. I'm sorry… but I'm not letting you fight anymore. I won't let you… break yourself, Chatri."

So… that's it. All of my life leading up to now, I was trying my best to fight. I trained five days every week with two days of rest, just for… this? One thing that I can never change, taking away all of my hard work… shit!

"…I… understand.", I responded. The main coach then hugged me to comfort me, but the ache inside my chest was just too great. I got no prize money too since I lost. I could have… made money- made a name for myself, if I just had… a strong chin, you know?

"Here, Chatri."

The main coach then released me and he gave me a small bottle.

"If your shins hurt, fill this with hot water and slowly rub it down your shin. Consider this… a parting gift."

So it's… real. The gym won't train me anymore, and won't let me fight. This… sucks.

I accept the gift and I thanked everyone for staying with me- up until now. We then left the small stadium and parted ways. I walk back to my apartment and the first thing I notice inside was the calendar. Tomorrow's the billing date- and I've got no money on me right now.

"…Damn it!"

I was about to punch the wall- but I'm glad I'm too tired for the punch to even damage my fists. Back to square one, Chatri. Better pack your shit up.

I then wash my face before packing everything. From English to Thai Dictionaries to clothes, I packed everything in a big bag. I didn't have much stuff anyway- but… I can take this loss. 7 wins, 10 losses, huh? That sucks… but I was planning for retirement anyway.

During my rest days, I was studying English. Maybe I could take a small Call Center job… but we'll think about that later.

Before sleeping, I boiled some hot water into a big pail with a dipper inside for a hot bath and for the small bottle the coach gave me. After a hot bath and the shin massage, I slept.

…

I woke up the next morning before brushing my teeth and taking a morning bath, wearing a black tank top and some pants. Moments after that, loud banging came on my door.

"Pay up, son!", my landlord shouted from the outside. This is it, Chatri. Time for the hard part.

I wore my bag and I opened the door before explaining to the landlord that I have no money, and I lost the bout yesterday. I'm just… glad that the landlord actually let me go away. Maybe it was the black eye?

Moments later, I am now walking on the road beside grassy plains. I don't really have plans right now, but I'm headed for the City-

There was a Flyer being taken away by the strong wind- and it landed on my shoulder. Being a curious man, I picked it up, and it said: "HIRING NOW! We need Beta Testers for Lumidia RPG! Requirements; AT LEAST Elementary-Level English, NO JOB, Good Mental, and Physical Health, and NO HOME (Optional). Head over to…

The rest of the flyer then gave an address. It seems fishy though, "No Home" as one of the requirements? …Well, I don't have a home. This is a chance given to me- and I can't be picky about it.

I then marched from the grassy plains and into the industrial area, the city. It was quite a long walk- around an hour or so? My feet are aching now- but I don't have a choice.

The place didn't have a huge sign on top- just a flyer attached to the walls of what seemed to be a center from before. Now, that reminds me… how did the flyer get into the road where I walked at? Maybe they're looking for farmers as possible candidates.

The inside of the building was clean- quite big actually. Reminds me of a hospital though.

"Oh, welcome!", a woman greeted behind a counter.

There was a woman that had a lab coat on top of casual clothes.

"Oh, um. I came because of this flyer."

The woman then examined the flyer.

"Ah, yes. Project: Lumidia."

The woman then pulled some paper and she asked me to fill it up. All I had to do was fill up the name, previous jobs to which I put in: Nak Muay (Muay Thai Fighter), and check some boxes. The woman then reviewed the form on the spot and she told me to proceed into the basement through the elevator.

I then proceeded into the elevator, pressing the "B" button inside. That's… cool. All of this building, just for a game- and they have a basement!?

Inside the basement was filled with computers lined up with each other- and curtains similar to hospital curtains between hospital beds at the other end of the room. The room was air-conditioned too.

"Hello there- I know you!", a man said in English.

There was a white guy wearing a lab coat too. He wore a cap, shades, and similar-looking lab coats.

"Um. Hello, mister?", I said in English.

"I've bet on you on one of your fights. Thanks for the money, pal.", The man stated as he walked over to me to give me a tight handshake. He then led me to the line of computers and asked me to sit.

The white man gave me instructions to create a character on a booted computer- but I told him that I'd want an accurate representation of me… so he took over and tried to make me a character that looked the same as I am- without the black eye, haha. Black hair in a flat-top, small black Asian eyes, slanted nose due to it being broken before, and a round chin.

While creating my character, the white man explained what "Lumidia RPG" is. Good thing I studied in English. Lumidia RPG is a fully immersive RPG made for a "Virtual Reality Headgear" but… Lumidia RPG takes it further. They want it to be capable of registering muscle memory- that way athletes or acrobats can move the way they want in-game. …Seems like a great job!

After the character creation part, they then asked me to change into boxers so they can register my muscle memory inside the game. I placed my bag to the sides and changed into boxers… the one I wore during bouts. They did some tests with some science stuff attached to my body and they asked me to just shadowbox.

While shadow boxing, I always stayed true to my stance. It's an orthodox stance but I always stood in an angle, meaning that the upper half of my right foot is always in line with the lower half of my lead or left foot. That way, I can easily work in other angles just by stepping with the lead foot before pivoting with it and rotating my hips back into the same stance again. This stance focuses on jabs and staying out of the opponent's firing line while giving me more openings.

"That's enough.", the white man stated.

After the shadowboxing part, they then asked me to get on one of the beds. While walking through the initial beds- I saw people with the same science stuff attached to their bodies while wearing a headgear that covered the back of their heads and their eyes. I was asked to lay down as they attach the same headgear to my head. The headgear seemed dark at first- but it looked like a television up close. It stated: "No turning back now.". in a light-blue message. After that- I could feel cloth being pressed into my nose with a sweet scent- and I slowly lose consciousness.

Another message has arrived.

"Welcome to Lumidia RPG!"

Chatri Pricha had been fighting ever since he was young. He's left with no family, no food, no money, and he could only turn to Muay Thai. He fought for the Muay Thai temples, sometimes winning, sometimes losing. He eventually found himself in the "Boxer's Muay Thai Gym" where he finally found a place he could call home. Despite his hardworking attitude, his record is 7 wins and 10 losses- and he knew that he could never be big. After losing his job as a Nak Muay (Muay Thai Fighter), Chatri left his apartment in search of another job. A flying flyer hit his face though- and it said that an RPG is looking for beta testers. Chatri had always been true to himself- but can he keep that attitude when he is put in a Fully Immersive RPG? Can he survive without weapons- and be the weapon instead?


In the morning, Zhang Zian opened his eyes and glanced around the bedroom as usual. The elfins were sleeping. He turned over and had planned to get more sleep. It was early, and dark and cold outside. A strong wind was blowing. 
But after lying for a while, he fully woke up. Something was wrong. After careful thinking, it seemed that Pi was missing.　
He sat up in bed, and searched carefully with the night lamp of Famous. The chair given to Pi as a temporary bed was empty. Pi was gone.
Did it go to the bathroom?　　
Zhang Zian turned his head, but didn't see any light beneath the bathroom door. So it was not in the bathroom. He hit his head. Pi was an imaginative elfin, why would it need a bathroom? He must have been confused after sleeping.　 
Tap, Tap, Tap!　　
A slight keyboard tapping sound came from the living room. Zhang Zian put on a jacket, passed by the sleeping and kicking Famous, walked over quietly, and saw the back of Pi.　　
It sat on the floor in front of the coffee table. The light from the laptop screen drew out its fuzzy shape. The nameless book was next to the laptop.　　
Pi was short. It was not comfortable after using the computer on the couch for a long time, so it crossed its legs and sat on the floor. Luckily, there was a carpet near the coffee table and the floor was not too cold.　　
A new Word document was created on the computer, with lines and lines of numbers. Needless to say, it was good old Pi. Mixed in with the numbers were some meaningless English letters. Maybe it was practicing how to type. 　 
The pince-nez was clipped on its nose, and the light from the screen was reflected on the thin lenses. Looking from one side, the lenses seemed to be without power, as there were no circles of the prescription lenses.　　
Pi was a slow typist. Sometimes it couldn't remember the location of a certain key, and its finger stayed above the keyboard for a long time. Even so, it didn't use two fingers to make the typing easier. In order not to disturb the elfins' sleep, Pi was gentle in every movement on purpose.　　


After hearing Zhang Zian's footsteps, it turned its head and grinned at him silently.　　
Zhang Zian pointed at the desk, then picked up the laptop and put it on the desk. He then adjusted the chair to the maximum height, and added a cushion. He asked Pi to sit in the swivel chair, then took another chair next to it for himself.　
The height was perfect. Pi was sitting in it comfortably. It pointed at the screen to show something to Zhang Zian. It typed in English: "I want to learn Chinese."　　
This line of English words were typed among a string of numbers. Yet compared to the time at the library, the numbers were much fewer. Although it was still awkward to read, it was less tiresome for the eyes.　　
Learning Chinese?　　
Zhang Zian stopped for a moment, extended his arms, and replied by typing in English: "Why?"　　
Pi clearly wanted to learn to type in Chinese.  It was much harder than speaking and reading Chinese. For a westerner, switching from an alphabetical Indo-European language to a pictograph Sino-Tibetan language was extremely difficult to do.　 
Pi typed on the screen: "Because Chinese is everywhere."　　
It pointed to the functional buttons in Word, then at the variety of books on the desk. Both the words on the buttons and on the book ridges were Chinese, with very few in English.　　
If Pi wanted to live a long time in the pet shop, or in China, it would be very difficult and inconvenient if it didn't know Chinese at all.　　
Zhang Zian nodded and typed: "I get it. How do you plan to learn? Can you learn from your book?"　　
Pi shook its head and typed: "There is no Chinese in the book."　
Zhang Zian thought the book contained everything in the world. He was surprised to find out about this.　
Pi noticed Zhang Zian's confusion, then typed: "The book is full of knowledge."　
All right. He finally knew something about this book. It was a book about life, universe and everything. But maybe it was written in English without any Chinese. So Pi couldn't use it as a textbook for Chinese. 

Zhang Zian thought about it and typed: "You don't know Chinese, but you can understand me talking?"　　
Pi responded: "I know Pinyin. I can hear."　
What the heck? The book had Pinyin but no Chinese characters?　　
Zhang Zian encouraged it: "If you know Pinyin, it will be fast to learn Chinese. I can help you."　　
Pi cheered up and typed: "Thank you. The book taught about how to learn Chinese fast."　　
Next, Zhang Zian found a lot of free Chinese lessons online, and asked Pi to study with the videos.　
Pi was very focused when studying. It could stare at the screen and sit in front of the computer for hours, while referring to the nameless book with the videos. Zhang Zian had to remind it to get up and move around. Only then it would stand up.　 
After the pet shop business, Zhang Zian played hide-and-seek with Galaxy, finished the daily training with Zhan Tian and Famous in the green field, and spent most of the remaining time with Pi, offering help. For instance, choosing an easy-to-use Chinese input software for it was how he helped. 　 
Maybe because it knew Pinyin already, or the learning methods in the nameless book were very effective, or the Chinese input software was intelligent, that a sentence could be accurately entered by typing the first letter of each word. Or maybe it was because Pi was an elfin born of Strength of Faith. It was impossible to predict it with common sense. Anyway, Pi was learning Chinese extremely fast and progressing at a miraculous speed. It was able to type some simple Chinese sentences within a day. By the second day, it was able to express itself in Chinese, although there were numbers and wrong characters mixed in the sentences, and some grammatical errors that would make people laugh. But it was making solid progress. 
The grammatical issues were hard to solve, as the Chinese grammar was too complicated. When the same word was placed in different places within a sentence, the meaning of the entire sentence could be completely different. Also, identical sentences could have completely different meanings depending on the context. 　 
Zhang Zian found some old newspapers for Pi and asked it to type out the news from them. The newspaper wording was very formal, clear and coherent. After mastering the written language, it would not be too hard to study the spoken language then.　　

Pi was tireless once it started studying. It could not leave the pet shop, and Zhang Zian was the only person it had contact with. Unfortunately, Zhang Zian often needed to tend to the customers during the day, and could not stay around it all the time.　　
When learning a language, the most important thing was to immerse oneself in the language through the daily conversations and interactions. Unlike the other elfins, Pi could not speak, and nobody else was able to communicate with it except Zhang Zian. Pi's progress in learning Chinese soon hit a bottleneck. For the same reason, Pi felt lonely, and often appeared low-spirited.　 
Zhang Zian noticed the same. But he couldn't duplicate himself. He had to handle the customers as well the elfins, which didn't leave him much time with Pi.　
He wanted to find a way to make Pi less lonely.

However, this time, although he roughly comprehended the meaning behind the emotions, he wasn't one hundred percent certain regarding the details. And he felt like he needed to unravel its accurate meaning this time as it didn't come to him naturally.
He also grasped one transparent distinction between the previous batch of emotions and the new one. While the former was a type of instruction and enlightenment, the latter was a type of description that was trying to transmit specific words in the form of emotions.
Or more plainly, while the first one felt more like processed experiences and memories, the second one was more like raw emotions which you needed to understand by yourself.
That's why, Virus had this odd feeling that unlike the former chain of emotions which he could clearly follow, he needed to decipher and contemplate deeply on the second one in order to apprehend it precisely.
'Hmm… I don't fully get the specifics… what should I do…' As this line of pondering appeared within his head, immediately, he thought of a possible solution.
'What if I translate these abstract emotions into concrete words?' As this possible answer revealed itself to him, a very complicated algorithm started to take shape within his mind.
This was happening because his plausible resolution was the production and creation of an extremely complex algorithm that would be capable of translating, converting, and deciphering 'Origin' sensations and emotions into concrete terms.
This process included him, first, considering every feeling that was directly transmitted into his head by 'Origin' plus every external feeling that Virus had experienced up to this point. And second, it comprised of the procedure of comparing them with concrete words and finding the best definitions or words for each of them. In short, he was creating the perfect [Emotion to English Translator] algorithm.

As the production of the Algorithm was perfected in a certain sense, Virus pondered, 'Hmm, first, let's see what the former emotions which gave the accurate instructions, enlightenment, and experiences of the 『Origin Passage Creation Art』 are about.'
Immediately, he put them through the algorithm as he waited for the translation to appear before him.
Unfortunately, the result disappointed him greatly.

'Hmm… something's stopping me from translating it into words. Right, 'Origin'! But… why won't it let me translate it?' Confused, putting on an imaginary frown, he wondered to himself.
He also deliberated further, 'Although I knew the full translation of the knowledge of 『Origin Passage Creation Art』 would be out of the questions since it consists of complicated experiences and enlightenments which can be never put into raw and one-dimensional words alone, I assumed, my algorithm at least would be capable of translating a few words of the said Art… but even that was prevented by 'Origin'! Damn it!'
'Sigh… whatever, let's try the second one.' Wanting to see if it also prevented the second rush of emotions from being translated, he put them through the algorithm.
『Translation Successful!』
'Oh!' Luckily, however, it worked this time, meaning that the 'Origin' wasn't against the translation this time around.
And also, since it was devoid of any experiences and enlightenments, Virus was confident the translation would be almost perfect.
'Let's take a look at it then.' As this reflection showed up within his head, words and sentences revealed themselves.

Without any further ado, gazing upon the words hovering in his line of sight, Virus began to wonder as a shimmer of understanding was flickering throughout his caged consciousness.
As his attention was focused on the first requirement, which was 〈1. Fully Annihilated Energy Pathways/Erased Energy Pathways from The Roots.〉, he delineated in an extremely passionate manner, 'Oh… I see… so that's why 'Origin' erased my Energy Pathways! Well, it totally makes sense, to be honest! Since every single body can contain only one set of Energy Pathways and having two sets of Energy Pathways is like saying two parallel lines will eventually meet… simply impossible and against logic or common sense.'
'Anyway… it all happened due to it being a crucial requirement of creating a new set of Energy Pathways… Sweet!' Smiling from ear to ear, Virus exclaimed happily. He was very jovial because this simple fact alone meant that 'Origin' also wasn't harboring any hostile intentions against him from the very start.
It wasn't trying to trap him. It wasn't attempting to replace and steal his consciousness or physical body. And neither was it trying to imprison him. Overall, at least for now, it had no intention of harming him in any way and that was extremely good news for Virus.
'The second requirement, 〈2. Absolute Comprehension of [Origin Passage Creation Art].〉. Hmm… I think the only way for its full comprehension was through the emotional transference of Art's knowledge… otherwise, I don't believe even ten thousand years would've been enough for a normal cultivator to grasp everything that needs to be enlightened about.'

"Ting!" A faint notification sounded on Hadi's smartphone. Hana's eldest brother immediately stopped working on the image of a bank robber suspect to check the message immediately. The sound was dedicated for family members only, and they only contacted him when there was something important. His family knew how busy he was all the time, working in the Police Department. 

Hadi hoped that it would be something new about her missing sister. He had done all he could and even checked the security cameras within the minimart his sister frequented and the public security camera from outside. Although there was none installed directly outside the minimart, he had painstakingly used his connection to tap into multiple cameras around to check. The only clue of a foreigner his sister had bumped into was gone once he checked that no such person was registered in the local college nearby. He had been distraught with his inability to understand how Hana was gone just like the wind in between the minimart and the outside doorway.

A clear picture of a hand drawn scrawl on a dirt floor was shown in the picture with a headline, "Hana's rough location. She sent it over just now. Please help check this map, Bro Hadi. Appreciate the help. - Arash" 

The map depicted a river-like line from the upper right corner to the lower left corner, with a number of clustered misshapen triangles on the upper right side where the line originated. A single tree on the lower right, and a dot in the center with an 'X', presumable where his sister resided. A cluster of misshapen rectangular shaped landmark was above the 'X' position. That was it.

Hadi nearly fell from his seat! 

[It was like a three year old drawing! This da*n thing is just too obscure and even without a scale! And what's with this kindie-like tree here? I thought she was in a forest with an abundant of trees right now?! How is this tree being singled out over here?]

Hadi felt an incoming severe migraine. He knew that news of a map was hard to contain, even how 'cincai' it was. This will escalate the hope of their mother.

Nonetheless, he still called up another friend of his and sent over the picture out again with a sigh.

[I really hope we can get something out of all this farce.]

As what Hadi has predicted, few days later, a distraught Ma'am Shaza called her eldest son in the middle of the night. As soon as he answered with trembling fingers, his mother was already yelling while in between sobbing. 

"Did you find the location?! Hana has not been answering my messages at all this couple of days! She didn't even message Arash! Do something! How's the map doing? Tell me now!"

Hadi clenched his palm tightly with helplessness. He wasn't home for a few days since he received the map image from his brother-in-law, as he stayed together with his friend to witness his friend's working on matching the location based on all the information he had accumulated and roughly triangulate the most probable location. He too had tried contacting Hana a few times to ask more about the map but to no avail. 
 
To Hadi's expectation, not a single match could be found. 

[What can you expect from a 3 year old drawing?] He complained helplessly in his heart with bitterness.

However, after some fine iteration by excluding certain factors out and rotated the map's orientation multiple times, thousands of matches emerged. This had further increased Hadi's headache. After spending some time browsing through the list, he was stupefied to find a familiar name. 

It was the locality of Arash and Hana's little hometown, including the surrounding state area and mountainous natural water reservoir area. He had just given the list to Arash and informed him of the peculiarities before continuing on the wild goose chase. He wasn't going to give up from this!

Nonetheless, he knew his mother was going to explode anytime soon. After weighing the options, he answered with cold hard facts. 

"Mak (1), please forgive this useless son of yours. I can't find her, yet. However, I won't give up. Please be patient."

Silence.

"USELESS!" The call was ended just like that.

He immediately dialed his little sister's number in bitterness to give her a heads up of their mother's turbulent temper.

[Sigh. True. I'm such a useless brother.] Hadi sighed helplessly.

It was a hot Saturday; a time where the tropical sun shone the harshest. A humble open-air popular eatery known as "Itik Salai Masthar" was packed to the brim with local diners eating their heart's out. Some newly arrived ones even had to wait for a turn to get a table. In between the sweltering heat, a group of young men were playing cheerful songs at the side to lift the mood of the customers while collecting donations for a religious school. A little boy was sweating all over while eating beside his mother. He curiously looked around and saw a miserable-looking grown up man on his right. The man was with two cute girls by his side, presumably his own daughters; one was a toddler, similar to himself, and another one was way younger. What awed the little boy the most was the man's action of pouring a bowlful of yellow colored soup with a slight green tinge atop his own white rice with a sorrowful look.  

The little boy stood near his mother's ear and whispered, "Ibu, (2) that uncle (3) pour the whole soup into his rice! It's like a flood lah! So terer! (4)"

"Shusshhh! Don't look at other people while you're eating. Very rude, Che' Mat (5)!" His mother was spooning herself with a piece of smoked duck with rice while making a satisfied-looking face. Different from the sad-looking man a table to his right, his mother only spooned out the extremely spicy gravy a few times and added some kicap manis (6) to her own rice to mellow out the heat.

The man was spooning his elder daughter with a mix of rice with fried chicken while the little one was playing with cucumbers. After that, he spooned himself after adding a dollop of sambal belacan to the rice 'flood', intensifying the hotness of the rice-smoked duck-turmeric coconut soup combo. The tables around the man gasped simultaneously with reverence in their eyes.

A streak of tears went down his face.

The man was suddenly crying. A group of young buskers jamming at the side inadvertently paused their ongoing song as the singer had choked on his words. They too were observing the strange man from a few meters away while performing. 

Che' Mat went over with a bottle of kicap manis and nudged the uncle gently, "Uncle, if it is too spicy, you can have this kicap. I'm sure you''ll be alright." He tried to advise the man.

Arash rubbed the boy's head after he wiped his tears away. "Thank you, kiddo. It's not that spicy. It's within my limit. I cried because I remember that my wife loved this dish so much." He smiled gently to the concerned boy, feeling a little touched by the genuine care reflected in his clear eyes.

"Ahhh..." All the uncles and aunties around nodded with a knowing glance. Sympathy clouded their eyes.

[So young, so pitiful. Even have two daughters he needed to take care by himself.]

Someone went over and placed an RM5 carrot-milk juice on Arash's table. He squeezed Arash's shoulder, "Take it, a treat for the kids. Be strong, Bro."

Arash blinked his eyes in embarrassment as he realized what all the customers around him might have been thinking. He had been a little bit too emotional just now as his wife has not contacted him for a week. The worrying had been eating at him from the inside. He nodded slowly in silence without saying a word. 

The buskers suddenly changed their song into a popular heart wrenching song by a local artiste, Kaer. A mellow serenade accompanied by a beautiful piano tune seeped into the crowd with an encouraging bittersweet tone filled the air as the diners solemnly enjoyed their meals on a hot Saturday afternoon, beneath a yellow canopy. Listening to the song, several diners' eyes misted as they catch a few extra glimpses of the unfortunate man with his two daughters.

Three black lines appeared on Arash's forehead as he listened to the serenade. It was a truly beautiful song but it's about how a deceased lover encouraged his beloved to move on! It's like a curse to kill his wife!

Arash quickly finished up his meal and immediately brought his children away. A moment longer, he might just punch the well-intentioned busker.

The other diners watched Arash leave with pity in their eyes. The man must've been too sad. He must've rushed out to weep in his car. They lamented on the fate of themselves and their partners; how long will they be together before the Creator took their loved ones away? Will they be ready?

(2) Ibu = mother (similar meaning to emak, some Malaysians prefer using ibu)
(3) the uncle.. = Arash is not the boy's real uncle. In Malaysia, anyone older will be called as an 'uncle' or 'aunty' eventhough the young one who greet the person only meet him/her for the first time.
(4) So terer! = terer means awesome, contrary to the real meaning of 'terror'.
(5) Che' Mat = the boy's name, it's like when you add -er or -kun or -chan to a name to make it more endearing. Usually to kids. Sometimes it persisted until the person grows older as it'll be a permanent nickname
(6) kicap manis = no, it's not tomato ketchup, it's a unique flavored malted soy sauce. It's sweet, salty and somewhat more umph. Don't know how to explain. Usually eaten with rice (a tiny bit only to enhance flavor). Popular local brands are Kipas Udang or Jalen  (google: kicap lemak manis cap kipas udang) or read the comments section here (https://100comments.com/habhals-cap-kipas-udang-sweet-soya-bean-sauce/) Some are in English. From here you guys can see how obsessed Malaysians are with this local brand of kicap lemak manis haha. The taste is totally different with the light soy sauce or dark soy sauce/molasses. 
(7) Izinkan ku Pergi by Khaer Azami = a sweet heartbreaking song. We translated the song as near to the meaning as possible.
