It was already the afternoon and Angeal, Arlo, Arvid, Frey, and Dharvey were already having their classes. Usually in the afternoon, each of them would be having their major classes of their degree so they don't usually meet each other unless they plan to go home together.
Angeal was in her Stylistics class, listening to Professor Leon. He was already telling the class what tasks they would be doing for the week, already giving them what they would have to do today.
It was also known to the class that Professor Leon is Angeal's father. When they knew about it through rumors that spread ironically from the faculty room, the people who knew were surprised and now understood why their resemblance is uncanny.
Angeal looked like the female version of Professor Leon. Other than that, they both share the same interest in writing—the difference is that Professor Leon lived to teach how to write, and Angeal learned to make stories.
"Now," Professor Leon said as he wrote two titles of a poems on the board, the eyes of the students focused on it. "We would be doing The Passionate Shepherd and The Nymph's Reply."
When the students read the two titles on the board, most of them weren't familiar of the titles. They stared at Professor Leon expectantly, waiting for him to explain further what they are about to do for today's class.
Since this is Stylistics class, the students already expected what they were about to do.
Stylistics is a branch of applied linguistics concerned with the study of style in texts, especially, but not exclusively, in literary works.
Also called literary linguistics, stylistics focuses on figures, tropes, and other rhetorical devices used to provide variety and a distinctness to someone's writing.
If not a short story or a novel to study, sometimes, poems can be used for literary studies in Stylistics.
"We will be studying two poems today namely, 'The Passionate Shepherd To His Love' by Christopher Marlowe, and "The Nymph's Reply To The Shepherd' by Sir Walter Raleigh. For further information, Christopher made his poem in the year 1599, and Walter's, in the year 1600."
As everyone was about to reach out to their phones for them to do a research, Professor Leon called out their attention by clapping his hands thrice, surprising most of his students to stop them from using their smartphones.
"Hey, if you search everything on the net, what will you learn?" he reprimanded, everyone's eyes on him as he leaned on his desk, continuing to speak. "You are to study two poems, correct? We have discussed about ways on how to study poems the other day, now I want you to do just that."
With what Professor Leon had instructed, everyone got their notebook instead, getting a piece of paper at the same time to jot down what they have observed from the two poems.
"Since you are given two poems, you are going to do comparing and contrasting. Once you start, you would find it interesting—the connection of the two poems," he said further as he flashed on the white board the two poems, beside each other.
The moment the two poems flashed before the students, most of them smiled, seeing how each stanza of the different poems came out to be replying to each other.
"Now with what I told you, you are given the whole period to do your study about the poems. Five minutes before the bell rings, submit your papers then you are free to go."
With the instructions now finalized, everyone went silent as they read the poem, the students already making notes before doing an in-depth analysis of each.
Angeal, however, read each poem at the same time, reading one stanza for the other, and another stanza for the second. In this way, she would see how the two poems were connected.

From the first stanzas of the two poems, Angeal wrote on her notes the two characters namely the shepherd and the nymph. Since the poem was made in 1599, obviously, the poem by Sir Walter Raleigh was made to reply to the poem Christopher Marlowe had done.

From what Angeal has read from the first poem, she deduced that it was a pastoral lyric—a poetry that expresses emotions in an idyllic setting. It is associated with Shepherds writing music to their flocks. The tradition goes back to David in the bible and Hesiod, the Greek poet.
As for the Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd, Angeal has yet to read more in order for her to deduce what else she would find out.
"Hmm…" 
Angeal tapped the tip of her pen on the table as she blankly stared at the poem by Sir Walter Raleigh, mumbling to herself at the same time. 
"This is more than just a reply."
"That's right."
When Professor Leon spoke, Angeal was startled for a bit as she did not notice that the professor was actually behind her, getting everyone's attention as each student looked at their instructor.
"The poem by Sir Walter Raleigh is more than just a reply to the shepherd. Look closely—read between the lines. Look at its theme—look at the words used. Do not only skim above the surface."
With his reminder said, he continued walking about in the room, the students continuing their task at hand. 
Angeal then continued reading the following stanzas of the poems, in hopes that she would understand what she was missing.


"Devin, do you love me?"

Hearing her question that had snapped him out of his thoughts, the Soul Eater opened his eyes slowly to meet her blue eyes once more. He smiled foolishly as his right hand reached out to her face, his thumb caressing her bottom lip.

"Is that a question you dare ask your husband?"

Angeal pouted like a child. 

"Tell me you love me... or I’ll cry."

Devin chuckled, making Angeal pout more as she narrowed her eyes at him. When Devin ceased his jovial laughter, he didn’t answer her question. Instead, he bent down as he pulled her closer to him, his lips smoothly landing on hers to give her a loving kiss. 

’I love you, Angeal. Before I even knew it, my heart yearned for you.’

Punished by the Almighty Seraphim, Devin was branded a fallen angel and was given a curse to become a Soul Eater—a being who is hungry for souls and feeds on them for sustenance.

Devin was bound on earth, looking for clues on how to cure his irrevocable curse until a desperate old man saw the Soul Eater and begged him to save his newborn granddaughter’s life.

However... it comes with the price of selling both of their souls. 

With the old man giving both of their lives to the Soul Eater, what path lies ahead for Angeal as she grows in a house full of magical immortals?

What is it to feel pain? How would one explain even an iota of the purest forms of fear: the oozing infection that hides in the anticipation, experience, and remembrance of pain? I cannot use the narrow confinements of linguistic tools to portray it, unless in the crudest of manners. Even such fundamental tools are incapable of creating an adequate point of reference. It lacks the nutrients to effectively satiate the imagination. This is my story. This is the apparatus I will use to construct the complexity of the implications. This is the extensive list of consequences that better summarize it than finite literary devices. The story is not in the words, but the spaces between them. The story of my life undeniably, like every other, started with my birth. But that is a problematic revelation, one I will hopefully fill in later. For the sake of this story, I must start somewhere more apt for my purposes. Remember, this is not an outlet for my self-pity. I am above such a thing: Not the act, but the state. This is, in its simplest terms, a long-winded anecdote about the appreciation of pain.    

Coasting through life, the only intrigue in Noah's life is his seemingly odd lack of pain and the rather dubious circumstances of his birth. That is, until potential answers to the roots of his idiosyncrasies and the depths of his past come to light.

In front of Lin Zhi, stood a bald man in a weird hero costume. Without breaking his forced smile, Lin Zhi pointed at an area opposite to him. "It's over there." 

"Ah, thank you." The caped baldy nodded before heading towards where the toiletry section was located. 

The door slid open again as Lin Zhi quickly bowed again. "Welcome!" 

This time, a teenager with spikey brown hair wearing a familiar uniformed walked in. 

Walking up to Lin Zhi with a pervy expression, his eyes darted around as if trying to scout out the convenience store. 

"Hey, did any new magazines come in?" The teenager's eyes shined with a glint of excitement as he whispered. 

"Yes." 

"Thanks." 

As Lin Zhi returned to stocking the items behind the counter, the ringer sounded again. 

"Welcome!" He greeted under the counter as he restocked.

This time, a bubbly voice called out. "Did the latest edition of 'Pro Heroes' come out? I can't wait to see the Hero Rankings! I hope All Might is still first..."

Without even bother to reply, Lin Zhi grabbed the latest edition of the 'Pro Heroes' magazine and put it on top of the counter for the excited green-haired teenager. He knew who it was and trusted him enough to not run away with it.

This was the current life of Lin Zhi. A transmigrator from another world where the supernatural didn't exist. 

Generally speaking, when a transmigrator goes into an anime world, it'd be based in one 'anime'... But this wasn't the case for Lin Zhi! 

There was too much anime mixed together in this world!

Except for this guy. The Badass Nobody is a background or minor character who shows significant or surprising fighting prowess or strength against a major threat. Whether it's a doddering old man beating a Chromatic Dragon, a salaryman going toe to claw with a werewolf, or even an unknown pilot defeating a Gundam!]

'I see...' 

"So I'm going to the past and whatever I do will affect the present? Does this mean I can even get missions for One Punch Man and even My Hero Academia?"

Yun Xiaotian had originally been infuriated because of the news, but once he thought about it, he let out a bark of laughter. Young Jiu had always been a slow girl who was clumsy with her words. How did she suddenly become so intelligent? By asking him to beat her to death, she was obviously trying to get an advantage by making concessions.
Yun Xiaotian sized Yun Chujiu up carefully. No, he was not mistaken. This was definitely Young Jiu. Why was she suddenly so clever? Could it be that she was hurt so horribly by Bai Moyu that she was suddenly enlightened?

Her narration was an extremely lively and realistic one!
Yun Chujiu talked so much that her mouth turned dry. When she saw that Yun Xiaotian was deep in thought, the glutton actually crawled over to the tea table to pour herself a cup of tea. She gulped it down and saw some pastries on the table. She picked up a piece and started munching on it.
Yun Xiaotian slapped the table. "Young Jiu!"
Yun Chujiu almost choked on the pastry in her mouth. She quickly crawled back to her original position and knelt down in an obedient manner.
"Grandpa, I promise you that I'll definitely change and become a better person. I'll get you so many Soul-Unleashing Pills that you get to eat them like you do with candy, let alone Soul-Gathering Pills!"
Yun Xiaotian felt so aggravated by her words that he actually cackled because he just did not know how to react anymore. 
'This Young Jiu… she really knows how to run her mouth!
'Soul-Unleashing Pills are grade four medicinal pills!'
There were only three grade three medicinal pill refiners in Donghua Nation, and grade four medicinal pill refiners who were capable of refining Soul-Unleashing Pills were even fewer!
Yun Xiaotian glanced at the shards on his study table and asked solemnly, "Young Jiu, what on earth happened to the door of your residence?"

Anna gained sobriety at a certain time during the flight journey itself, she looked around for Clyde and found him on her right; she presumed he had carried her over till her seat from the lobby. She was hungry, she pushed the button above her and soon enough the hostess stood by her. She said what she wanted, the lady returned with what she asked for; bread, bacon, cheese, cookies, orange juice and a galaxy smooth milk. She switched on the screen in front of her, clicked on the movies option; there were many languages, she chose English; and further she chose American Soldiers. She plugged in the headphones and began watching as she ate. Although her food was over thirty minutes into the movie, she continued watching; the plot was intriguing. She watched it with keen interest and without a blink; within her she admired the director's brilliant work. The 1 hour 50 minutes came to an end just as the landing announcement voiced through the voice box. She pulled the headphones off and turned around to see an already awake Clyde watching her. She smiled and quizzed him, “What, you've been spying on me; I was kind of freaked out when I saw you looking at me. Jeez!” 

“No, American Soldiers is one among my favorites too; I was just, you know, looking.” 

“Just don't gimme that stare again, that's it.” 

The plane soon was racing through the runway as its speed gradually depressed, they didn't waste much time on the plane this time. After collecting their baggage, Anna booked them a cab to her place, when Clyde asked about that, she replied, 

“I have my car in the porch, we'll have some breakfast and drop you home. Don't worry, we'll eat at a restaurant, you needn't suffer my cooking.” 

“Woo; you cook, I thought you couldn't. Just joking, I know you do cook. That black spot on your wrist just tells me you got it burned while cooking not more than week from today.” 

“Jeez, are you from the FBI or something; you are smart. Yeah, I had it while cooking just the day we left for Canada.” 

Their cab arrived; they got in and headed for Anna's house. Clyde was confused when the driver finally stopped between tall buildings. 

“I thought you lived in a house when you said about having a porch and car in it. So you live in an apartment, it seems.” 

“Well, that was just a literary phrase. Don't worry again, this building's got a basement parking and I've my car there.” 

They walked up into the building, went up the floors and finally the elevator doors parted on the 17th floor, where Anna had her apartment. She swiped the card and the door clicked open, they went in and closed the door behind them. Anna's flat was somewhat like her, beautiful yet careless in a way; Clyde put down his bags in the living room and sat on a couch, the walls were draped all over with red wallpaper, it had yellow lights and a King size bed, and so it was also the bedroom, the kitchen was also there as it was a studio flat. Few minutes later, Anna emerged from the other room having changed. 

“Would also not change, those clothes look weary on you.” 

“Yeah sure; by the way, what are you keeping in there?” 

“I've got my closet, laundry and all the extra stuff installed in there, I rarely have visitors and so I prefer not having a separate bedroom. Come on, go in and change, I'm starving.” 

He went into the room and locked the door; before he changed he just looked around the room. The big brown closet, the ironing table, the laundry bag, the washing machine, the big mirror and the makeup set everything ideal to that of an actress's caravan; but there was something in that room that is not there in an actress's caravan, a dozen pcs. Five laptops, three i-pads, three mobile phones and a large TV; also some devices he couldn't recognize. He changed and was back in the living room where another TV was playing the live news. He looked to see what were the recent updates; and the next news shocked him out; 

Heavy Blast at Simpson’s tower; around ten people are seriously hurt and many others also hospitalized. It was just half an hour ago that the blast occurred very unexpectedly. Anna said nothing, when the news-reader moved on to the next report she let out a deep breath. He then asked, 

“Did you just feel that we escaped by an inch?” 

“I don't know about that, but, those reporters are very mean. Why did they have they have to describe those two men as by their religion; they could've just said two men. After they had their meal; Clyde asked her to drop him at George's office. She pulled up outside George's office; Clyde took along his bag, thanked her and walked into the building. Miriam was at the entrance, she was arranging the place; he asked about George, she replied he was upstairs. He put his bags there and walked up the stairs, he knocked at the bedroom door. The door finally opened and George beckoned him in, “Clyde you rascal, when did you return; how was the whole trip?” 

Clyde replied nothing, he working on his phone while George waited for a reply. Clyde finally raised his head and also his phone, the phone screen began to play a video, 

“Explain this, Detective George Miles,” Clyde said. 

The video showed George's encounter with Axel including the kill. George replied, 

“I will….I will…Gimme an hour.”

When Clyde is back in hometown after being deported from Germany, he thinks the interesting part about life is over. As he rekindles old relations, he comes across a lady with whom he travels to Canada and back; his life gets back on the exciting track after he confronts one of his friend with something he had seen in Canada. As the friend, also a private investigator removes the sheet, what's coming up before him is a big challenge that demands him to be back in Germany, where he had stopped. Their journey to Germany, the reason, the aftermaths and everything forms the crux of the story making it a decent thriller that discusses some social issues in a lighter manner with a strong theme.

I would've never envisioned this happening again, being trapped inside those steel walls, sitting on that cold chair, fidgeting my hands on top of that rigid table. He comes in, he isn´t happy.
"Do you know why you're here this time?"- He approaches me and leans to face my side profile; I'm looking at my sweaty hands.
As his warm breath grazes my neck, I can only deny timidly with my head. He then proceeds to sit down and throw a little, yellow walk-man attached to a pair of black earbuds; it slides to the middle of the silver table. I glance fleetingly at him; his charcoal-colored eyes have an undeniable glint of fury. My heart dropped, I wasn´t getting out of this very easily. I remembered the first time they took me to this room; I'd managed to get rid of taking the weekly dream test, and I'd broken several rules in doing so.
"I'm sure you are well aware it is strictly forbidden to use devices other than those that are granted to you. In addition, I do not allow you to consume any multimedia material including music, cinema, or literary works that are not available to you. That said, where did you get this from?"- The vein in the right upper part of his forehead was pumping and ready to explode at any given moment. I had to choose my words very carefully.
"The walk-man was given to me by Ms. Addams for history class, I have only used it to listen to old audio in old formats like these for a research project. Nothing belongs outside, I swear."- I try my very best to maintain a firm and convincing tone.
I look at him, waiting for a response. His eyes are fixated on mine for a few seconds. If I look away, he'll know I'm lying, but if I don't, he'll suspect that I am pretending to sound certain of what I am saying, and in fact faking it. Before I can continue deciding how to act, he breaks the tense silence.
"I know that isn´t true Bianca. Do you really think I'm that oblivious to the content you're learning and the material you're given in your classes? I really expected you to be honest for once, it could have saved yourself a big part of the punishment, now before I start, I want you to recite the refraction and proper disciplining."- His face is impassive, I have not been able to get rid of this. With a lump in my throat, I do as he asks.
"I have broken rule number 8 about extracting and using objects from the outside and rule number 12 about listening to unauthorized music. The appropriate punishment is 4 days of complete isolation and during those days 6 hours writing the broken rules with the heavy quill."- This is the worst kind of punishment; the heavy quill is a big pen that makes writing the simplest of words the hardest of tasks. I look down defeated and he stands up with a blank expression on his face.
"I'm very sorry Roman, it won´t happen again."- I venture to say, he looks at me and answers briefly before leaving the cold room.
"Prepare your belongings for isolation, you have a lot of time to reflect on things."

I open my eyes in the same luminous bedroom I woke up in almost a day ago, same bed, same wooden furniture, same bay windows. One thing was different, it was the fact that I had just dreamed about a very vivid experience I thought I had forgotten. Memories about what would have been the continuation of that nightmare started flooding me with harsh emotions. No, I couldn´t breakdown now, not here, not yet.
About 12 hours ago, I was in Victor's office. When he told me it wasn´t the first time we met, I had so many questions but at the same time, I didn't have any. It was this simple, I had lived my whole life without access to anything or anyone outside the institution. Atlas' affirmation was merely impossible, I had never seen or even heard of him before.
Unfortunately, any further clarification could not take place as Robert interrupted us and asked Victor to attend to an urgent matter, so the interview had to be postponed until he was free again. Olivia came soon after to bring me back to my bedroom, she explained it was provisional, and when I was completely recovered, I would be assigned a normal dorm.
I had fallen asleep as soon as I laid in bed, and numerous dreams and memories had taken place that night. I get up from the bed and go to the dresser, I haven´t had a chance yet to investigate the content of those drawers. I opened the first one, which was filled with fluffy towels, the second one had white hospital gowns, shirts, and pants, the two latter were identical to what I was wearing at the moment. In the third one, I found some hygiene utensils that consisted of a toothbrush, a hairbrush and a bag with what I supposed were little bottles of shampoo and gel. I decided to transfer it to my bedside table, I'll ask Olivia where's a bathroom I can use.
On the fourth and last one was something I didn´t expect to find in a dresser, it was a small black notebook, with the cover a little worn-out by time and use. I picked it up slowly and checked to see if there was anything else inside the drawer, nothing.
I sat down on my bed and looked at it, wondering whether I should open it or not. This seemed very odd, everything in the room was prepared for a patient in recovery, this had nothing to in a place like this. Also, who was the owner? It's very difficult to forget something so personal as a journal and not getting it back soon after.
Curiosity took the best of me and my hands flipped over the hardcover to reveal the first page, I couldn´t believe my eyes. Scribbled in stylized handwriting that was so familiar to me were words I never thought I'd see:

22 year old Rosetta didn't know what she is going to encounter, instead of running the responsibility behind. She discovers something not new to her anymore.

"From the beginning to the end, the experiences of these two were only told by them alone. As such, no one can prove their stories at all! What if it's all a lie?" Wu Xiumin asked. "What's more, what they said is really contrary to common sense!"
Captain Dou shared similar concerns, "Yes, that's why we didn't take them to the hospital! When the policemen arrived on the island, only two of them were alive, and we thought that was a bit odd!"
Zeng Ke thought about it for a while, then asked, "Wu Xiumin, what do you mean? Are you saying that you think that the killings on the island was all a plot made up by these two survivors?"
"If all of the victims were poisoned, then the cook is most likely the one who did this!" Xiumin said. "And, if they didn't have drugs, it proves that the two survivors are lying! So we have to give these two people a thorough test to see if they are lying or not!"
"It has all been arranged!" Captain Dou smiled and said, "As it is our usual routine, we have already arranged blood tests for the two. So, it shouldn't take too long to get the test results back!"
Wu Xiumin then turned to Zhao Yu and said, "I'll go interrogate those two people now. If they are lying, I'll be definitely able to tell!"
"Don't worry!" Although Zhao Yu was frowning, he was obviously much calmer than the others. "Xiumin, since they are already in our custody and are being watched, then there is no need to rush over there!"

"Captain Dou..." Zhao Yu couldn't help but ask when he saw the houses, "Are these houses where the people who guarded the lighthouse lived?"
"Yes!" Captain Dou confirmed, while nodding his head. "In the 1970s and 1980s, the lighthouse played a very important role on the island. The fishermen of Quliang all depended on the lighthouse to help them navigate their vessels safely. However, since the 1990s, electronic devices have become so popular that the importance of lighthouses has greatly diminished."
Captain Dou sighed. "Although there are not many unique points of interest or fancy beaches on the island, some young people in Quliang still come here sometimes for a picnic or to go camping. Oh, by the way, sometimes in the summer, our local schools even organize summer camps. In fact, my daughter has participated in a few..."
