True for now. He will get a steel type and a ground type. Also he can make synergy with duo teams. For example Cloyster and Urshafu rapid strike, Charizard and Exeggutor, Tyranitar and Gliscor.

Why? He already had a Cloyster and getting a pokemon from Hoenn is more difficult and almost every fanfic has a MC that has a Milotic. More accessible pokemon are pokemon like staryu or slowpoke if he wants another water type.
Nice chapter. For better battles more on his level he could try the battle frontier. In Fire Red I remember there was one on the sevi islands.
If it’s weird like that don’t take it to heart. People can distinguish good and bad criticism.
Author's Note: I have told before I can accept constructive criticism and change as a writer to give better chapters , but if some lousy idiots just put AI slop or give 0 or 1 reviews and when questioned on what part was it they just say looking at the cover without even bothering to read or check any chapter just to spread negativity , honestly I am not gonna bother with those much yes the fics ratings will take a hit but the genunine readers will still read the fic , as if I was writing with AI i would have had daily uploads rather than breaking my head thinking and writing a draft then editing it to a chapter and I would have had perfect grammar without making gender mistakes like the mess up with charmander so much .

Never seen a good pokemon fanfic that uses Deoxys. In some translated I have seen them, but almost all of the time they are bad. This fanfic is really good and he can go to Birth Island and that would be a great addition to is team. Also in the Anime we have seen people with legendary or mythical pokemon. If they can do it so can Grey.
