Namake: The people who keep flaming the story despite being this far into it are really starting to piss me off. If you hate it that much then ffs stop reading it and let others enjoy it.

Murakami_Takai: Hrmm... I don't really know what to say. Personally, I dislike Eastern Fantasy nowadays, mainly because of the over-saturation (you had one job, Webnovel), but this one is decent, I guess?
By decent, of course, I mean probably the best quality original Eastern Fantasy I've read on this site. There are a few tidbits that had me cringing, but again, it was probably my natural aversion at play.
Writing quality: 5/5. It would be oh-so-great if everyone on Webnovel had Track's eloquence. Occasional grammar errors, but nothing that the "normal" reader would notice.
Stability of Updates: 4/5. Honestly, it's pretty stable--it's just the rate of releases that falls short. I'm tempted to give it a 5, but Webnovel emphasizes quantity over quality.
Story Development: 4/5. Again, natural aversion.
Character Design: 4/5. IMO, not enough cast so far, and pretty stock-standard character tropes if you ask me. Sure, they work and are fleshed out, but seem to fall flat thanks to their genericness?
World Background: 5/5. There's not much to comment about the world, since it is an Eastern Fantasy. The one thing that brought it up to 5/5 would be the way the little snippets of info are sprinkled into the text like a good dash of salt and pepper on a juicy steak. Really good sh*t.
Anyway, Track's a good writer. Total score is 4.4.

Namake: So, apparently giving yourself shameless 5 stars is standard fare and I'm "not allowed to give myself a 2.6 star rating" cause it's "dragging down my ratings."

So fine! If you want me to be shameless, shameless I shall be!

This is the BEST story in the WORLD. It is INCOMPARABLE. You will REGRET it if you don't read it. I DESTROY other cultivation novels with FACTS and LOGIC.

Alright but actually, I'm just a dude who's writing a rough draft of my story and hope y'all might enjoy reading it while I do so. There will be mistakes. I'll fix the minor ones, but I have no intention of going back and fixing anything larger until the volume is done.

I still care about quality, and I do my best to update daily. Hope you enjoy the story.

Well, I was wanting to have pretty epic scale, but we’re still in early days. I’m trying to introduce the characters slow enough that people can get accustomed to them. View More

Murakami_Takai: The characterization is already pretty good (better than most others, kek). Again, tropes, yada yada, blah blah. It really depends on whether you want a more epic fantasy or a heroic fantasy for cast size. What you have right now is perfectly fine for a heroic fantasy.

Haha yeah, it'll be much better in its finished state. Also, this is my first novel. I've been focusing a lot on the characterization, but it's good to hear I have a long way to go. Thanks for the feedback man. View More

Murakami_Takai: I should add, discovery writers completely baffle me. What goes on in those heads of theirs? Alas, it probably means that I'll have to re-read the first volume when Track revises it.

Thanks for the feedback! I've definitely been wanting to revise those first few chapters, but as a discovery writer I know I have to finish the volume before I do that haha. Will keep this in mind for when that day comes. View More

Lappidappi: I don’t like or really dislike your writing style.
Your descriptions are detailed and your sentences flow nicely into each other making it pleasant to read.
Sadly the writing is not quite my cup of tea, I can’t put my finger onto the reason for it so it’s hard for me to give a feedback in this part; still 5/5 stars.

Stability of the updates are in my opinion not fast but neither slow; 4/5 stars.

I can’t say much to the development of the story yet, with only reading till chapter 5, but I can say that the story feels fast paced and well thought out. I could feel that the author had a plan in mind while writing of how he wanted to mold the story.
However similar to the writing, where I couldn’t find a real fault I don’t feel the desire of continuing to read the story.
The first chapter made me feel as part of the world and it’s people exiting me and making me worry for the MC, but with the start of the second chapter I lost my interest fast. I mainly attribute this to the next point characters; 4/5 stars.

The character design for me was the biggest flaw in this novel I just couldn’t see myself in the role of the main character. I found his motives lacking and questionable from moment one.
He is an interesting character but his personality has no realistic background to make him believable; 3/5

World background was good.
Even with the the worlds system being overused in other novels the author successfully build an authentic world.
Still I am bored to read about similar worlds in different novels again and again, which is only my personal preference, which is why I give; 4/5 stars.

In conclusion a well thought out story and world with writing that makes you forget the time while reading.
The characters could be better not to say they are bad.
In the end my preference makes me uninterested in continuing to read the novel.

BUT it’s definitely one of the best original novels I have read till now. 10/10 WORTH TRYING.

The one thing that really stuck with me was when (touch wood) was written in dialogue. That was a bit distracting, aside from that I can't really remember the other things so they mustn't be that important. View More

Yeah, I agree with the minor distractions stylistically. Just so I know, how would you recommend remedying it?

Will keep writing ^^

JadedCat: This novel is seriously one of the most well-written ones I've read so far on WN. The updates are relatively stable and most importantly, I can't seem to get enough of Song Yi. I keep wanting to know who he is, why he's currently in the place he is now and how he's going to make himself more powerful. Trust me, you're missing out if you don't read this! Keep up with the good work, author!

It is an honest-to-God sin that novels like these don't get the attention they deserve on this site.

With that said, let's get into this.

Writing Quality: 5/5
No grammar errors that I noticed as of yet. There are some minor distractions stylistically, but they're so insignificant that I wouldn't worry about them whatsoever.

If I had to give a criticism, I would say the flow could be improved by adding more short somewhat 'biting' sentences for impact and to break up the monotony.

Stability of Updates: 5/5
I don't comment on this.

Story Development: 5/5
This is the kicker. This story from the immediate beginning has you wondering what the hell is going on. Suddenly, a cut to the other side of the world happens after a shocking ending to the first chapter.

When you get to the third chapter, you begin to get some hints and understand that there's something far deeper beneath the surface.

I truly think this is a masterful start to the story and I look forward to where it will go in the future.

Character Design: 5/5
As of now, there are few established characters. That said, the characters (who may or not be minor) that have appeared so far have all had distinct voice and characteristics. There is a clear layer of realism to this story.

World Background: 5/5
It's obvious that the author has done their homework. Information regarding China (where the second and third chapters take place) is correct. While I'm not a medical professional, the environment and details in the second chapter seem natural to the point that whether they're true or not doesn't matter, as few would be able to tell the difference.

Overall: 5/5
I almost never give 5/5 reviews. That's partially because I have to change my scale depending upon whom I'm reviewing — since this website has such a range. Obviously, there is no story that's a true 5/5, but as far as this site goes, if I'm not going to give it to a story like this, then I don't know whom I'd give it to.

Keep up the good work. View More

Writing Quality: 2/5
There were many grammar errors throughout this. I believe they can be improved upon, but as a native English speaker, I found them distracting. It took a good deal of effort to read past these. The main issues are punctuation as well as tense shifting. That said, for Webnovel, I believe this isn't anything too abnormal.

Stability of Updates: 5/5
I don't comment on this.

Story Development: 4/5
The first chapter is well paced. Introduces the characters, providing just enough information to allow the reader to visualize the scene. The action comes in at just the right time, as well, propelling the plot forward.

Character Design: 3/5
The characters are varied, which is great. That said, I don't get a sense anything particularly unique about them from the beginning. I think some more fleshing out or description beyond just physical characteristics would go a long way to adding life to them.

World Background: 4/5
The world is intriguing, and there are hints at the beginning that make you as a reader ask questions about the place. I think that's a good thing.

Overall, 3.6/5. I had to stop at chapter 2 because of the writing quality, but if you can get past that, or if the author improves the grammar, I think this would be a good read. View More

Elyon: Writing Quality: 5/5 The writing quality is well fleshed out and I can tell that the author have great command of the English language and is able to bring out complexities in word structures. As long as the author will be able to continue such quality in every chapter, this novel have a very promising future.

Stability of updates: 5/5 It is a bit too early to tell on how stable the updates will be. So far, I can see that the author is keen to release regular updates and I'll be looking forward to them as well.

Story Development: 4/5 There are still a few chapters and so far, there's not much development going on. I'll come back to this as more chapters are released and hopefully, I will find surprises on my next visit.

Character Design: 5/5 I see no problems with character design. The changes between a Grandpa and an Emperor who acts like an older brother that is trying to teach his little brother on how to cultivate is tickling my curiosity.

World Background: 4/5 From the current chapters, it is not enough to envision the world where they reside in. I'm thinking that this continent or world they belong to is very vast. I'll get back to this as well as the author release more chapters so I can have a better feel of the world where the setting of the story is taking place.

Overall: 4.6

When I read this novel, the vibe that I felt is pretty similar to the novel "NightFall." Will look forward for more chapter releases from the author ;)

Mr_McGuffin: I have to give this novel all the stars for two main reasons. First and foremost is that it is one of the best written novels I have read. The detail in its descriptions are top-notch and the characters are both well presented and believable. Secondly, the author himself seems to be an amazingly good person. I found very few mistakes that I almost didn't even notice. When I pointed them out he took this critique in stride and even thanked me for helping edit his work. This novel is a must read for all people!

noctifer: You are seriously missing out if you're not reading this novel. Argubly one of the best written pieces on WN, everything about it is fantastic. There is no overused repetitions of the MC offending everyone everywhere he goes and killing every young master he meets. There is no random girls falling at his feet - no, this novel is a massive breath of fresh air and uniqueness that makes me feel alive after reading dozens of novels with the same storyline over and over again.

Quality

The writing quality is impeccable. No grammar mistakes to be found, and the flow is amazing. Everything is smooth and glides like water in a stream. Every sentence is like a work of art. This should be a published novel >:0
Description is thorough enough to enable the reader to sink into this amazing world of cultivation. Fight scenes are well detailed and thrilling, adding that spice of action. I could totally see the scenes playing through my head like a movie. Please let this be a movie in the future.

Stability

Long daily chapters. That's all I need to say. The author chose and stuck to their schedule, and that warrants a 5 star. Thank you and please mass release soon(I'm jk)

Development

A medium paced novel, so not too slow yet not too fast. Events that occur are natural and makes complete sense - no bs reasons for why things happen. 15 chapters in is enough to see the massive potential this novel has to grow as a huge thing in the future, jumping into the top 10 easily. Revive the xianxia genre! There is a lot of foreshadowing and drama, and I look forward to watching everything play out. There are little to no cliches used(the ones used all turn out to have unique twists, which made for great plot twists and make me chuckle at times). The MC isn't overpowered, he obviously will develop and grow on his own and I can't wait to see that! I won't go into too many details of what happens because you can read that yourself, but just know that reading this novel is so. worth. it.

Characters

Song Yi: I LOVE his name hahaha. As the MC, he's an amazingly realistic character - a bit childish and impulsive, just like how one would expect a 15 year old would behave. He's not perfect, and he makes mistakes and uses these mistakes to grow. At the same time, he's obviously not dumb - his street smarts as a thief push him through many situations. He's not a pushover, but he knows when to back down and he isn't arrogant. Can't wait to see how he grows as cultivator in the future, as well as future characterisation.

Old man Wang: this is just my nickname for my absolutely FAVOURITE character in this novel. He's just there trying his best man. Snarky and grumpy, he constantly makes things hard for Song Yi - but is also one of the best teachers around. There's so much mystery surrounding him, and I can't wait to see his past to be revealed and finally have the answers to the multitude of questions I have about him.

Su Bai: Another character we are introduced to early, amd roughly the same age as Song Yi. As a girl, I have to thank the author so much for giving us a female character who honestly has a point of being there as a character, and isn't sexualized, nor is treated solely as a "love interest". She has her own motives and personality. Love at first sight? Not a thing. She and Song Yi get along like fire - but they fight as well at times, and it truly shows how a realistic friendship works. Not everything is rainbows and cookies. She's strong and doesn't need saving, she'll fight and grow like any other character. God, I love her.

Each character we are introduced to all have their own unique personalities and have their own motives. It adds a lot of depth to the story, and this is obvious to see even only 15 chapters in.

World background

At the current moment, there aren't enough chapters to fully see what kind of world this is. But from the amount of world building that HAS occured, one thing is apparent: the author has put in a
