Amarok = A gigantic wolf from Inuit Mythology
The canine-like Mask—Amarok, to be specific—was extremely agile. A gigantic wolf-like monster with six legs and six blue eyes behind a black mask with jagged blue lines running over it. The Rakshasa moved and dodged every single spike that jutted out of the ground easily.

And now with this, the 2nd arc/volume has officially begun. From this point onwards, the chapters are going to be paywalled. There will be more worldbuilding and character exploration with more secrets to be revealed. As the prologue suggests, this arc in particular will be more mystery based so if you like that, great. If not...well, there's still going to be the usual plot stuff that hopefully keeps you entertained. Thank you ^_^
ch 50 Vol 2: Under The Skin - Prologue

So, that's the end of my first arc/volume. My main intention for this arc was to give you a sense of the world and the tone it is set in, a tease of the characters and the larger plot. From the next arc onwards, the plot will start taking the front seat more. The story will still be heavily character centric but now the plot will (hopefully) shine too. If you liked the world, the characters and story; it would be a massive help if you vote for it or leave a review for it (if you haven't already) ^_^ Hope to see the support in later chapters and volumes too!!

These are different words for grim reaper or atleast variations of them in different cultures. And Aatmahal is the city of Grimmers. It literally translates to "Palace of Souls". It is a made up word though.

Cuz it is inspired by it. Initially the influence is heavy but by the end of the arc and later on, it kinda goes in different direction (not to say there won't be similarities later on too)

Ardhjiv Stage = Half-rebirth Stage A made up word used for the souls that aren't a Grimmer yet but are on the road to become one. It gets further explained in later arcs.

Ruhkti = Soul energy / Energy derived from Ruh I mean, I do explain it's meaning in this exact same paragraph but yk, just in case as an official definition. Also, btw, completely 100% made up word.

Thanks, mate 😁
Thank you, that means a lot 😁
Yara-ma-Yha-who = The Yara-ma-yha-who is a legendary creature found in Australian Aboriginal mythology. It has an interesting myth of drinking blood of people, swallowing them and vomiting them back out after their nap only to repeat that process until the human becomes the creature too. I thought it was cool and didn't see something like that in other stories so I thought, why not? It's weird and interesting XD Ofcourse, as usual, I took some creative liberties with the creature to fit my world better.
“Yes, you have to. Well, that is if you want your training to move forward.” He sat down and grabbed one of the foil covered food items. “That particular Mask is called Yara-ma-yha-who. A low-level Rakshasa so you shouldn’t have too much trouble with it. To give you an idea, it’s around the same level as Manananggal you beat last time.”
