I did read MTL version. It's very solid SS fanfic. I read three of such and this one was the best one. In general, the SS world is really cool with galactic virtual reality, war against different races, solid cultivation system. The fanfics that use that world well are passable on default. It's just ultimately, rather than reading those FFs, I would've been better to reread the original.

He always gotten books before but now instant knowledge? Doesn't feel right.

Instantly, a torrent of wand-making techniques and arcane knowledge flooded Kael's mind, granting him an intrinsic understanding of how to craft a wand. A wave of exhilaration washed over him. While this sign-in reward wasn't a physical item or a new spell, the knowledge of wandcraft was invaluable. With a proper wand, his magical power would double, allowing him to cast the more destructive and powerful spells that were currently beyond his wandless capabilities. He knew that without a wand, attempting something like the Killing Curse, for instance, would likely result in him being the first casualty.

He already broke cannon of Edgerunner just by arriving. Why is he still worrying about it.

But if the start of the canon could be smoothed over like this, what about the continuation?

This isn't the first Cyberpunk FF I found in which MC doesn't use cyberware. I find it very weird choice as cyberware is one of most defining factor of the verse. Why bother writing Cyberpunk FF if you don't include it. (As normal person in 2025, I would also be rather resistant to implants in general, so I can follow the logic but common. And no, MC being resistant to implants in this FF, isn't a story reason but rather author's choice to not give MC impants.)

Started off well. But then it turned from Cyberpunk FF into harem FF. The story barely progresses, while MC just spends time with more and more girls.

I read it till the end with MTL. This is the best LOTM fanfic, that goes from beginning of the story all the way to the apocalypse battle that happened at the end of COI. The early arcs aren't that impressive, with story being on the rails of the original. But eventually the story does become it's own. The later arcs that cover the high sequences arcs are pretty much better than original. In original, the author rushes through them towards the ending. here they all get proper development. There are some insane plot-twists involving MC as well, that get revealed so late into the story. There are weak points in here as well. In a way, this is also a wish-fulfillment/"fix the original type" of fanfic. All those emotional beautiful deaths and all sorts of terrible outcomes that happened in original get fixed in this FF. If someone tried to write this kind of development with 0-08, the quill would answer "this isn't reasonable". In the world of LOTM, it certainly isn't.

It does start off like this yes. But the further the story goes, the more the story stands on it's own. Though it does take a while. Still when this FF gets to later sequences, it's actually better than the original. Eventually it also starts incorporating little bit of COI and the story goes all the way to the old ones apocalypse battle. Because of that in a lot of parts this FF is better than original.

Even if the world was ending, and time was of the essence, my Geralt would still decide to play the round of Gwent first.

Watches Eskel and Lambert losing in succession, Geralt has no heart for playing and waves his hand peremptorily: "I'd prefer to spend it on wine or abalone."

Too many is too many. On first glance, it's the angel's doing. But it doesn't feel like he has that much power. And it would be more tragic if this was simply Lumian's passive aura. At this point almost every non-beyonder named character that Lumian interacted with died in this inevitable way. Except Charlie. Each time someone gets saved and then dies anyway. (reminds me of good old "this is very reasonable" developments.)
