since there are many insectoid-type monsters in the dungeon, it's indeed only a matter of time till he gets one.
My clothes had already been a bit torn here and there after my fight with the goblin, and reason dictated that they would turn into rags completely after a few fights. I would fight naked if I had to, but I was no exhibitionist, so I would rather avoid that situation.

Nah, he can get more skills from the same species of monsters but he has to eat more every time. Also *spoiler* he can get a skill from each human he eats and he can also make new, stronger monster species by force feeding dungeon monsters with cores.
I also felt there would be other monsters with heightened senses deeper into the dungeon, so there was no need to dwell on the loss. Increasing my immediate survivability took priority.

It wasn't enough to eat part of a monster's flesh to absorb its essence, as shown by the fact that the Hunger only started working the moment EVERYTHING had been consumed. I didn't know how my skill prevented the monster corpses from turning into dust during my meal, but I was grateful nonetheless.

Dungeon monsters don't have rep organs and the intestines are clean for newly created monsters, but yeah.

It's not implying that he would get persecuted, only that he would gain a bad reputation. Eating raw monster flesh is kinda gross.
It was time to claim my prize...but first, I had to get to a place where I was less likely to be spotted by my fellow adventurers. After all, I was sure that If anybody saw what I was about to do, I would have a hard time showing my face on the surface...
