I’ve nerfed quite a few of the time-related magic elements from the Harry Potter universe. The Time-Turner, for example, I completely removed from the equation. This is a Marvel + multiverse story, and while the Harry Potter universe is definitely not as high-tier as Marvel, some of the magic in HP is honestly just a straight-up worldbuilding bug when you start looking at it from a multiversal perspective.
The rules governing restoration depended primarily on how much time had passed since the subject in question had first changed. Simply put, something left broken for too long could not be fully returned to what it once was, no matter how much power was poured into the attempt. At best, only a fraction of it could be reclaimed.

If you analyze closely at that duel you mentioned, it actually has legitimate spells being used, just without mentioning. I brought up the spells here to emphasize that even though my characters use magic, however powerful they are compared to canon, they are still, at their core, those very spells. I was worried it might look like a Dragon Ball Z fight otherwise. 🤣 I do agree though that how I presented the fight might not have been, no, wasn't as engaging as the great author J.K. Rowling. Anyway, I'll keep that in mind and do my best to improve ✌️
