It’s ten minutes away from the eastern end of the town. Far from the Baron’s manor, yes. But close to the town.

It was episode 2 (or was it 3?) of season 1. It is just before that season where Ainz obliterates those two ‘Seraphims’.
Author's Note: Shoutout to those who managed to realize the easter egg that I've left in this chapter. You and I are not too different. *wink*

Because there was no real need to do so, prior to the wolf attack. And even that was sudden and unexpected. Before coming to this town, these men and women were simple farmers. The only ’battles’ that they’ve seen and experienced are limited to drunken brawls and friendly spats. It was only three months ago, that they heard about the war breaking out in the kingdom. A month ago, they were displaced from their homes and entered the forest. In the mind of the average peasant, the events that had transpired in these recents months are dubbed surreal. You could say that they’ve yet to grasp the complete reality of the situation, and that of the war surrounding them. This wolf attack and the death of the miners is a wake-up call of sorts.

It’s a reference to this scene from an anime called ‘Overlord’ (It’s this small and really obscure show. I don’t think many people know about it). Anyway, there’s a scene where this character called Gazef Stronoff says the lines quoted by ‘Jason’ to his men, while they face this insurmountable attack from the Slane Theocracy. Check out the show and the LNs. It’s great. I highly recommend it.

I assure you. Nothing about his character has suddenly changed. The note simply tells you that he will become a ‘better’ person through the progress of the story. Making fun of someone based on their looks, race, or habits, while sometimes funny, is a terrible thing to do. One must learn to exercise restraint and think before they speak. This is the lesson that Atlas will learn. The Author Note was merely a disclaimer requesting the readers to not be over by offended by his words, deeds, or actions and to remind everyone that these characters are FICTIONAL.

He INDEED does have M-factor within his body. (a paltry amount) However, while the hardware (body) is compatible with the world and magic, his software (soul) is completely unsuitable towards it. Atlas Constantine will never, ever, ever be able to use any magic.
The young girl had no idea who spoke those words or even of what half the words meant. Nonetheless, she was glad that it had happened.

Four other transmigrators?…What? Atlas is the only transmigrator/otherworlder within this story. Everyone else are inherent residents of Avaritia.

Atlas’ mentor is not relevant to the current plot progress. Details will be shared in the future when and as they are required.
'Ah, now I really want to see what it will look like once it reaches perfection. Will it really live up to my mentor's claims?'

Atlas was given the ability to speak and understand every language within the world. This includes Human Speech, Beast Speech, Monster Speech, etc… He cannot, however, read or write those languages. Separate learning is required to do so. Who gave it to him and why? That’s something that will be explained in the far future.

Short Answer: Plot. Long answer: Since the dawn of time, everyone living entity within the grand world of Avaritia is born with a certain factor within their blood called the M-factor. The quantity of M-factor within an individual’s blood is varied and random; not entirely as parentage, chance, luck, etc all play a role in its determinism. However, after an individual’s birth this quantity is fixed. Nothing can change it. M-factor is important in the determinism of a person’s talent. Individuals with a higher count have greater and wider affinity with elements. For those with low counts of M-factor, it’a vice-versa. As mentioned above, M-factor is in a constant state of flux until birth. While educated guesses can be made, they are never accurate and might even greatly differ in reality. This is true even in the case of Gods. (Hence the saying, ‘God does not play dice.’) The reason this particular little girl was chosen wa because of her unusually high M-factor. This bought her the favour of a God. Now you might ask, ‘Hold on, if the girl was born with a high count of M-factor, why didn’t her parents or the House of Hestia know about it?’ To you, I answer; it’s because the process of testing is expensive. Since the House of Hestia was already poor, testing became an impossibility. For more detailed explanations on M-factor and how they determine an individual’s talent, please refer to-[CONTENT REDACTED. PLEASE AWAIT FOR PLOT EXPOSITION.] Have a great day. :)

Apologies for the sudden hiatus. I’m taking a temporary break for 2 weeks (till Dec 24th), in order to concentrate better on my 2nd novel, Capital of Greed. I was originally planning on releasing it on Jan 1st, however, the recent WPC matches well with the theme of my story. This being the case, I brought forward the original release date. I have no intentions of stopping or dropping this novel, so rest easy in that regard. While you wait for more chapters to be released here, I urge you to check out my second novel: Captial of Greed. It’s free, fun, and in all honesty, has a MUCH BETTER written start when compared to this one. (I still have nightmares when I recall my first written chaps for this novel. *shivers*)
