If anything I'd say that what the MC is doing (fighting with 2 identical swords) is the mark of an amateur, anyone who wants to use 2 hands and who knows what they're doing would choose either a single 2 handed weapon (for better range and power) or use something less cumbersome in the off hand for defense since that is what the off hand weapon is for.
Some commanders and soldiers came out to watch the boy and Lomas fight. Lomas picked a tourney sword while the boy picked two. That sent some muttering through the crowd. It's very hard to dual wield. It's a gift reserved for the progidies.

My problem isn't with him calling it difficult, it's with him saying it's 'reserved for prodigies', being able to use 2 hands independently from each other isn't rare, I mean look at drummers, or people typing on keyboards or all of the IRL swordsmen that fought with something in their off hand, a parrying dagger, a stick, their scabbard, a shield or a gun.

The first thing that struck me when we finally reached Kings Landing was the smell. I know many must have said that, but it is truly bad. How anyone can live like this, is beyond me. If I were king, I would probably run it into the ground as quickly as possible. This is an embarrassment to any architect. The walls seem thick enough, but there is a major weakness in the harbour. The River Gate could be attacked and it would be hard to defend that should it ever happen.

I ignored this before but the castle of a lord paramount would surely be surrounded at least by a small town instead of a village.
We make our way off our boat and across the harbour. I look at everything and add it to my ever-growing memory. This might prove useful in the future. You never know what will happen in this world ... never. The only thing that is guaranteed is the greed and scheming for man. I take it as it is, an obstacle to deal with. The Guilds I am creating are an answer to this problem. It is a long-term investment and one of the reasons I am investing so much money into Storm's End and the village. I will be sure to gather people. Not loyal people, that comes later.

The Red Keep, the royal castle located on top of Aegon's High Hill is probably the dumbest thing they could have built there. The location gives access to the part of the city, which should be the most protected. If I created a catapult and loaded it on a large ship, the Red Keep would fall quite easily. That is simply trash in my opinion.

A catapult wouldn't have the power to reach the castle or even do anything more than superficial damage, to actually stand a chance of bringing down a castle (especially ones as massive as the ones in GOT) you'd need explosives and the only faction we know of that has explosives (the pyromancers with their wildfire) are based in King's Landing and are loyal to the King.
