I don't know how many times I have said this but they are certainly not the strongest around. They are just the most prosperous. In terms of military Kumo was the strongest followed by Iwa. In the 3rd Ninja War, they might have lost if not for Minato and how broken the Flying Raijin was.
Despite fighting 2 wars, this Village still holds the position of the strongest in Ninja World.

First of all, thank you very much for your support and I am happy that you shared your opinion with me. As for the answer to your question, I mentioned this before right at the beginning that this is the first literary work I have written and I wanted to increase my literary skills with this. Fanfics help a lot with a that because of the already established world-building that can be modified according to my needs. Now, for the novel part, I did have some ideas about writing one based on a medieval setting but I am still thinking it over. Of course, the Lava Genome should not be so harshly called useless. It was just, in Shikamaru's mind, it was a waste of points. Lava, while destructive, is not a genome worth spending money on.
