I'm pretty sure that you're asking about the knowledge stat. I added this to chapter 3. 'If I remember correctly, each of the major gods gives an extra stat based on their dogma. This must be what the stat for the God of Knowledge does.'

Here is the updated section. What's most out of proportion is the knowledge stat which is almost up to five hundred. I focus on the knowledge stat and a description appears. Knowledge: For every one hundred points in this stat, one bonus point will be awarded per level. [I could accumulate bonus points much more quickly this way.]

You're right. And actually, it is the function of the knowledge stat to give an extra bonus point per 100 points in the knowledge stat. That doesn't have anything to do with the Index title. Thanks for pointing that out!

each personal level gives 5 bonus points. nick gets an extra 4 points per bonus level due to his title making it 7*9 which is 63. then he gets points for raising his job level twice. 1 point for level one and two points for level 2 again, he gets 4 additional points per level which would add 5 and 6 points to the total making it 74. so I was off by one so let me change that. thanks for pointing that out.

True, but is that not the same as closing your eyes or covering your ears? By not being aware, Nick is choosing to not focus on his senses in much the same way. The concept of a stat is to denote the maximal usage of your physical abilities. This is the same as the strength stat which remains the same even when Nick is not using his full strength. The reason I chose perception is because I wanted to encompass all the senses including the ability to sense people around you. I don't want to have a stat for each sense. Also, the average adult has an average of 30 in each stat so he is still well below the average there.

I've been thinking about what you said and while I agree that Nick is dumb and doesn't notice things happening around him, I think that is an issue with awareness as opposed to perception. If he had worse eye sight and couldn't physically see her then I think that is a perception issue. Either way, I appreciate your feedback.
