Yeah, I guess the show writers just wanted Rick to get on and out from Atlanta, and waiting the night would basically mean he wouldn't be able to follow Glenn to the others.
The guy on the other side laughed and then replied, "Yeah, well that's the bad news...There isn't any good news either, actually," I rolled my eyes at that point and just continued listening, "I've only got some advice for you two: Make a run for it. The walkers are pretty focused around the back of the tank and the ones coming from the surrounding buildings are really only limping along. You've got a window to run right now. You got anything that can cause a distraction?"

Pulling it on after pulling it off, I began slipping clips for my M4A1 into the holders. All the while, I was speaking to Rick, telling him I'd give covering fire while he got the duffel bags out of the tank.

You know, normal stuff," he trailed off before looking up at me, "I know you said your memories are all weird and that you think you were a soldier but do you remember what else you used to do?"

Trying my hardest to balance the strength of my strikes so I could deal the most damage possible without breaking the bat under my own exceptional strength. Two blows caved it's head in but I did a third one just to be sure and it's head completely broke open, it's brain mulched and oozing out of the cranial cavity I'd broken open.

He would've picked up the MREs if there were any. Food is no doubt picked clean from the surroundings. Anyone with a brain would've gone for the MREs because they last long and they're easy to store.
Moments after he finished dressing Rick's wound, Morgan got to cooking something to eat. He offered the food to us and neither of us could see a good reason to deny his goodwill. I was starving and Rick was too, no doubt.

Bruh, he's still human lol. Just because he's been trained doesn't automatically make him immune to fear. Saying that is like saying soldiers should be the ultimate killing machines just because they've gone through basic training - which is absurd. The MC has been trained, sure, but he's got zero experience yet outside of his experiences in his prior life.
"...You're saying Batman is gonna train me?" I asked, just to be sure I didn't somehow hear the Godly being wrong. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't feeling a little bit excited about it, however.

Because a bullet to the head would still kill him. A dozen walkers out of nowhere and a single bite, and he's dead. He's still very much mortal lol.

I was intent on following him, knowing that sticking next to him was the most logical thing to do. I knew some of the major events that happened next to him and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat excited about changing canon for the better just to see what would happen.

Saying 'All the time' is a bit of an exaggeration. Rick has had his own lines, MC has said original lines that I haven't ripped from the show or stolen from Rick and Rick's done plenty of stuff up till this point. Not the MC's fault that he's a quicker thinker, less indecisive and a more natural leader than Rick is.
Suddenly it hit me. The walkers hear and smell you. That's how they find you.
