Not immune but much more resistant to it than Superman. Compared to Superman where Kryptonite sends him to his knees and makes him useless, the MC will only feel nauseous when in the presence of Kryptonite but otherwise fine and able to continue fighting if need be.

Because it adds stuff Superboy is missing without making him stupidly OP. I could add Viltrumite DNA but he'd become too strong too quickly. I could add Saiyan DNA but, again, he'd become too strong too quickly and he'd gain access to Ki or whatever. Yato DNA gives him what I want him to have - which is an increased healing factor, amped-up combat talent, better speed and agility--all without turning him stupidly OP.
