"I, dear Lin," Luc chuckled, looking down at me with a hungry gaze I had only seen on the faces of other demons. I resisted the urge to swallow my heart, knowing that I couldn't show my nervousness as I did my best to meet that gaze evenly. Luc's smiled widened as he leaned down to my skin, laying a burning kiss onto my chest. I moaned quietly with the gesture, surprised by how much I enjoyed it. When our eyes met again, I noticed that all three of his horns had appeared, the largest adorned with a single gold band. "Intend to give you exactly what you asked for."

"I KNOW there's no way you're giving that trash royal treatment." I turned sharply as I heard the voice interrupt the hostess, and scowled as I noticed it was one of the angel couples. The woman stood with her arms folded across her chest, fluffing her white wings as she continued. "I'M the Angel of Confidence, and yet you have ME and my date sitting at one of the regular tables."

"Well, unlike you two, I don't want to use him." I spat back, annoyed by the laughter that came from the Count as I worked my way back to the front of the Cafe where Jinx waited.

right, because of Jinx. I wondered why Jinx didn't recognize Luc from his clothing

"I doubt it. He likes to place secret rules to his deals." Luc admitted, finally unfolding his stance as he looked to the far wall. I took a moment to notice his adjusted stance and couldn't help as my eyes danced around his form. Luc was by no means built, but he had a sturdy frame, nicely accented by the dark clothing he wore. I had no doubt the golden accents were added by Requiem, as Luc had a habit of dressing in a more casual manner when given the option. It was probably his more regal dress that caused Jinx not to recognize him and I had to give that one to the Demon king. Saved me a lot of trouble.

Starting to understand that strong playing weak tag. Luc clearly has power if his voice can sound like his fathers

"It's been a while, Bar'gath." Luc's voice took on a demonic quality as he spoke, and I moaned softly as I tried to resist my instincts. His feminine voice was gone, replaced by one that was too similar to his father's. "Although you can calm down. I have no intention of telling Requiem where you are or where you go."

Pretty good start. I've read the Sealed Blood series so i am excited to see where this goes. Lucien seems to be an interesting character and one thing this author does well is characters.
