It’s not about torturing Mc, it’s about letting him know how his life could be ruined with one wrong move after everything he had done, and to make him a little more ‘evil’ than he is now. If he keeps going at the pace he has been, he’d probably suffer a much bigger setback since as of right now, he doesn't take the world seriously.
