I recognize that profile picture... I'll be seeing you over on Patreon, planning on publishing another chapter or 2 today. The goal is to get my Patreon viewers at least 30 chapters ahead of the free publications, and we're slowly but surely making our way there.
Hey, everyone has their cup of tea a little differently. Hope you find something you truly enjoy 🫡
To sum it up, clankers are clankers, though some are better than others, therefore elevated to the title "Robot/Bot"
"Yes, though not entirely correct. Bots have enough intelligence to do as requested. What I'm printing are demolition drones, thirty of them, to be exact. Compact, strong, and fast. Each equipped with plasma torches and cutting beams far more stable than the tools you and I wielded today. And twenty cargo drones for hauling the materials back here. Once the workforce is in place, then we can begin on the frigate."

Not in this context. Sure, they are both mechanical cosntructs, but they are separated by what they can do and level of autonomy and decision making. A drone is a remote-operated platform, directed through the orders it recieves. It has limited onboard logic, cannot make meaningful decisions, and only performs the exact tasks it’s given. A bot, on the other hand, is a robot. Bots have higher intelligence, built-in decision making, and a level of autonomy that lets them interpret orders to a much higher degree than a drone, adapt to changing situations, and operate without direct human input. For example, you can tell a bot to go collect this metal. They will understand that as you want them to go, cut, collect, and bring the metal to you. A drone will see it as "Go get metal, cant get metal, task failed."

Well, people deal with trauma differently. But then there is also the fact that we, guys, tend to talk like full-blown rtards when we get comfortable with the homies. You should know the saying, "men never mature," and I'll tell you what, work in a construction site one day and you'll see how true that saying is. But your point is taken.
Anahrin let out a low, weary sigh, the kind that was half exasperation and half amusement. "No, Mark. That is not how tracking systems work. You know this. They are not blind calculators that only expect one set of data. Live tracking allows for firing ahead of where the ship will be, no matter the acceleration. You go faster, the tracker aims further ahead. Hell, you could burn out half your coils pushing beyond what they expect, and the computer would still place you within the cone of probability."

Yes. his Navy experience will be key in shaping his way through the beurocracy that will attempt to hinder his plans
The Strathari were a diplomatic and peaceful people who did not believe in MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction). They tried to use everything they made for good, while still innovating on weapons enough to defend themselves, though not making it their focus. They were inventors, and early on in their history, just like humans, they had seen the effects of MAD. Also, when they experimented with antimatter, they deemed it too volatile to use without extremely undesired side effects.
"Heed my words when I warn you, Mark, you may not be human anymore by your DNA, but your mind and perspective are as human as they come. Do not," Anahrin's tone of voice changed from one of a kind professor to a very stern parent giving a speech to their child after they did the most ungodly thing possible. "I repeat, DO NOT make any attempt to utilize Antimatter Reactors, or anything dealing with antimatter. Unlike fusion, which consumes and transforms, antimatter annihilation leaves nothing to salvage. Trust me when I say this, my people unfortunately know the aftermath of antimatter failure far too well; it was strictly outlawed for a reason. Not even the brightest of minds attempted to glance at it, let alone its intricacies. There are things in this universe that are not meant to be discovered, let alone utilized. Promise me you'll never tamper with it."

I'm not supposed to be giving any spoilers, but here I am. I plan on further exploring his past in the Navy, his past in general, along with relationships, in Book 2.
