If there were only 44 empyrean tusk clans i'd be more concerned as to how they made it this far in generations. The chances of finding a new empyrean tusk seems low and they cant freeload on another tusk till they find a new one so the 44 tusks to me would be wiped out long before their present time assuming their race has been there longer than 2000 as 2000 years seems to be the normal death time by old age.
This ravine spanned a width of five kilometres, one of the widest in the Dieng Canyon, forming one of the major roads of entry into the region, frequented by many, especially Empyrean Tusk herds.
