If you wanted to make it "Strong desires" then make the desire match with the skill. Solo Leveling worked because the MC was chosen by the equivalent of death for his "always close to death" lifestyle. A good example as to why I think Jesters was a career meant to test the king's worthiness to keep his crown. If the king can't handle being made fun of and tries to execute the jester, it would be a sign he has a short temper and would bring ruin to the kingdom. (of course the jester wouldn't solely mock the king as everyone's patience needs to be tested but the king is the most important mind to gauge)
