I figured that Hermes would take my actions as a sign confirming me as a hero, but that was preferable to the trouble that would be brought down upon me I it was known that I let him die. As the world slipped back into its normal pace, I was already blasting off toward the attacker. Hermes had noticed something was off and was turning just as the knife wielder lunged forward. The speed of the lunge told me that I was dealing with a level 3 at least, but I wasn't too concerned.

In the end, I was able to get two more spells under my belt, Flamethrower and Firewall. I was tempted just to start working on the last spell I would need before I can get Flame Manipulation, but I sensed the approach of an unwelcome guest with Magic Sense. Hermes casually strode down the back alley street where the abandoned church was located. He obviously knew I had some sort of sensory skill and had purposely taken off whatever device or magic he had been using to conceal his presence last time. When he spotted me sitting casually on the crumbling stone wall, he acted surprised to see me.

I would say that I am using Fate, Fortune, and Luck pretty much as the same thing because I think they are all just ways of describing the same thing.
Fortuna was more affected by our fated bond than I was since she was a Goddess of fate and fortune and was much more in tune with that sort of esoteric stuff than I was. I simply gave her head a pat while waiting for her to stop crying. Eventually, she pulled away and wiped the last of her tears from her face.

I didn't stop until I was on the eighth floor. I saw the dungeon open up much more, with patches of grass growing on the floor and moss covering the walls. I made my way to a far corner of the floor and cleared a patch of ground, preparing it for the circle. Once everything was ready, Great Sage relayed the information on the creation of the circle to me. I got to create it as soon as I knew what to do. I dipped my fingers in the paste inside the bowl and began to trace the circle on the ground. It took me about an hour to complete the circle, but it only felt like a few seconds has passed for me.
