I understand what you mean but it was part of the story because Edith learned a hard lesson of not protecting Mila from Veroc that will carry heavy consequences. if you read, Edith was frozen because she couldn't believe that her actions blurred the lines. This is an one of the reasons why she will never agree to sharing Mila ever again. At the end of the day it's the love between Mila and Edith and not outside parties. Don't worry it's a life lesson for Edith that will force her to put her foot down and protect Mila.

On that day they tried to save them yes, the doctor took the babies out immediately to fed them, so they won't die of thirst and once they were out through C section. they started trying to save Mila. It really looked hopeless for Mila at that point.During all of this the Crystallines castle got Attack by Vampires who wanted to Usurp the Crown, using Tyron as a pon. since Tyron was of royal blood by was born through a one night stand that happened at King Aron's bachelor party before his wedding to Lucy who is Lucien's mother.
