She knelt in the rain. The water was cold and smelled of cut flowers. She got both hands under his good arm, and he was so heavy she thought for a moment she would have to leave him. Then she braced her boot against the doorframe, hauled, and the armor slid with unexpected ease across the threshold. It weighed less than a man his size should, as if the plates were hollow. The rest of him weighed exactly as much as it looked.

monster para again
The three moons sat in the glass, fully formed now. Below them, the sky-island she had glimpsed sat in the middle of the frame with its silver river curling off the edge. On the island was a city built out of tall thin towers of some pale material that caught the moonlight and threw it back in long lines. It was beautiful. It was also, she noticed with a professional's discomfort, wrong in a specific way. The towers leaned. Some of them had cracked from top to bottom. The river had a brown scum along one bank. Whoever had made this picture had painted a city halfway through falling apart.

monster paragrap, breakdown it
There were forty-one pieces. She laid them out on the felt in the order they wanted to sit, which was a skill nobody could teach and everyone in her trade pretended to have. Edges first. Then corners. Then the interior, where the shards fit together with a faint magnetic tug, as though the glass had memories of its own shape. Every piece she placed changed the sky. When she joined the moon-side fragments, the yellow moon swelled into full view. When she slid a piece from the lower edge into place, a river appeared far below the clouds, a slow silver ribbon winding through land she could only describe as floating.

Her aunt's ledgers lined the wall behind the bench, forty years of provenance in cramped handwriting. Seraphina scanned the spines out of habit. Nothing under M for mirrors, nothing under O for obsidian, and the only entry under T was a tea service that had turned out to be tin. If anyone in this family had handled a thing like this before, they had not written it down.

u got an gud explanation here
They passed a wide, low building with its doors thrown open, where three men worked hides stretched across wooden frames, scraping and stitching with a patience Cassian had never had the luxury of learning back home. Further along, a woman knelt over a shallow stone basin, grinding something dark and fragrant with a heavy pestle. The smell of it, bitter and sharp, reminded him instantly of the ink on Toma's arms.
