Amidst the booming crack of ear-piercing gunshots, Xin Lei bumped into the ex-army officer, Major Bai Li, who recently got a dishonorable discharge. He was the only hope for her who could help her in digging the truth behind not only that syndicate chasing after her life but also to find about her father and brother who have mysteriously disappeared.
Together, they set out to search for the truth, but it shapes into something much darker and sinister as they learn about the case Xin Lei's father was working on - to prove a father innocent of his little daughter's disappearance, plunging them into one of the dangerous worlds, hidden from everybody.

My foot was stuck in the pit and I pushed Bai Li away from me who was trying to get me out. There was no time. The sounds of sirens were growing closer and closer. How can I let the police catch him?
But my strength wasn't enough. I tugged his shirt. I begged him. 'Please go.'
Bai Li grabbed my arms. "Don't push me away, Xin Lei. Soldiers never leave anyone behind. It's either we are caught together or we escape together."
Before I knew it, his lips were on mine.

An apt title for the storyline. The story starts like a spider web, beginning from different points, inching towards the centre. The progression is rapid but realistic. The thoughts, actions and behaviour exhibited by each character are professionally displayed, in vivid format. Personally, this book is my cup of tea. ๐๐๐
I can't express how in love I am with this crime-mystery novel. I am not a big fan of this type of novels but I started reading it because I wanted to support this great author reading all her novels and the end result is total OBSESSION!!! my admiration and respect for our dear Author. This book is sooo thrilling, sooo full of mysteries, twists, adventures and most important it has all readers on the edge of their seats asking for a quick landing. Our Author has an incredible world inside her mind that has bewitched my heart and soul. I feel very lucky to find this great author committed to the passion of writing and pleasing all her loyal readers bringing a world full of emotions and fantasy to our world when for some of us, real world is turmoil. It's important to mention that this book is a master piece and we should support it more! I wish I could support you more and spoil you every day as you do to all of us. Thanks tons for this adventure!!! ๐๐๐ (and for making me fall in love with Bai Li ๐คญ)

Took me a while to review because I got slowed down on reading!!! >.< So here it is: BEAUTIFUL. Story, pacing, plot, and concept are well-presented. Characters โ simply dynamic. I donโt usually read these types of novels but this simply gave that vibe of both a mystery and an intriguing read. Grammar-wise, I donโt see much of a problem. Nothing much I could really critique. Thank you for making such a great craft! Keep on writing!
You dragged me in a gunfire. I wanted to live longer so I saved my ass. YOU are the collateral who got saved... that was heart wrenching .. ๐คฃ๐คฃ Damn damn... Major is cold. but also, when the fight started, i was startled.. and like the mute woman, I was shocked when he couldn't see. and I'm like... How the did he fight? Very nice one, author..
This fellow Author of mine never fails to amaze me with her writing style. I love the way she could intrigue and attract her readers with the cliffhanging and suspense scenes in the stories. I like the mystery and action in this story. Oh my Gosh, Bai Li is so cool. Both the MCs are very special characters. Their unique situation made me love them more. They have flaws but it made them more stronger. The story is well-written, matched with an interesting and exciting plot that would surely hook its readers. Keep it up, dear Author. Wishing you the best for the Spirity Events. This story is fantastic and truly amazing.
Oh God, I love this crime mystery story. It's too exciting to read. Each chapter has twists and turns and the plot is excellent. I feel like I'm watching a movie or a series. If this story is going to be a series or a movie, I'm sure I'll be the first to see it. It's wow no more than that, there are no words to describe it. And Author I love your every books but this will be in the top of your other books. โค๏ธ
This book is really really really interesting. If you are fan of crime genre, go for it. It will be worth our time. The story development, the character development, mysteries after mysteries will keep you hooked with this book. Talking about writing style, it is really good with humor and not so twisted. It is very hard to find the books of our taste, and I am glad I found it. And grammatical mistakes are zero to none. Author did really hard work. Lots of love dear Author๐๐.
This is the second time Iโve ever wtitten a review but this book deserved it. I have never read a book that i literally never took a break from. The characters are so well written. The Imagery made me feel as though I was watching a movie. Seriously i love this book. I dont even know what else to say.
Absolutely stunning and everthing its so addictig for some reason i just cant stop but i do stop when my eyes start getting all tired.
Give it a try and you won't regret it. Everything is nice and I don't see any error. I really like the prologue as it makes me wanted to know more what will happen. I even buy the privilege just to make sure that my reading won't be disturb.. It's interesting novel and I will follow it for sure.

I have to say that I struggled to write a review for this novel, I wanted to be objective about it, but I couldn't! Because this is exactly the type of novels that I like. The endings of your chapters are really hooking! I noticed that your writing balances between descriptions, actions, and dialogs flawlessly, something a lot of writers wish to achieve! Btw, I don't say this very often, but you cover is just too good to ignore, I love it! I wish if they add a cover rating system, I'll definitely give u 10/5! I really don't have any bad stuff to say, but some of the last chapters were shorter than the first ones, I hope this isn't a lack of motivation from your side stopping you from finishing the story. Because if you don't, the universe will never forgive you! You have to continue writing! Thank you for such a great novel!
