Synopsis
After Ru Wen moved to Shanghai permanently with her boyfriend, at that time she thought they’d get married and live happily ever after in their small apartment. Until one day, that never came into her thought that her boyfriend would pack his bags and leave as he gave an excuse that he “needed space.”
In storm of her newfound single status and being alone without notice in this big city, Ru Wen buries herself in her artwork and paintings lifelessly.
But one night she helps a mysterious intoxicated stranger get home safely. Little did she know the mysterious stranger is none other than a bachelor CEO and millionaire, Mu Kai.
When morning reach, Mu Kai awake soberly and finding a strange woman in his kitchen and assuming she has broke his #1 rule about letting a female sleepover. Instantly he becomes intrigued, not only by her stubbornness and defiance, but by her kindness too.
Mu Kai, emotionally dead and damaged, that stemmed from his tragic love as he has made a vow to never love or fall in love with a woman, until Lee Ru Wen walked into his life by accident. After she opens up and shows him her world Mu Kai starts to feel emotions and feelings he never knew existed before. Despite the rumours and warnings regarding Mu Kai and his use and misused of her kindness, Ru Wen finds herself being drawn into his world unnoticed.
Ru Wen knows they can never be together as she is harbouring a her past that could destroy Mu Kai emotionally forever.
So would they have a happy forever after as they embark on a journey of courage, love and strength.
Yet, will their journey save them from being apart again?

Omg. I like it so much. Thought FL was a bit innocent but she quite pity too. ML a bit arrogant at first but playful. I think if ML started falling in love with FL. I'm sure FL will pamper her badly.
Quiet an enjoyable novel to read. However some points can be improved. First, not sure if this story taking a set in China (by the names it should be), if it is than culturally people don't allow stanger to have a cheek to cheem kiss and even if you are close you won't allow your spouse being hugged that easily. Secondly, for a cancer patient she is too lively, sure she should have a spirit but none of the sequence depict a serious illness. Who goes to the beach after treatment and still take alcohol?, thirdly, if this novel wants to put an emphasize about love it surely fail, lust perhaps. Fourthly, while the lady is not that likeable, she is tolerable more than the male lead. His words of loving het is not really shown in action. He is male chauvinist who treated his wife nice as long as it is up to his standards. I cringed each time the words love comes from his mouth as he gave her cold shoulder when she didn't listen and never realized his wrong doing unless Gu Min told him so or he sees her tears. He thinks he is a gentleman but he is not Obviously, this couple have trust issues and don't understand what love is. They claim they love their other half more but all their action shows their ego is much more important. I will still read this novel for now as I see the potential to become better.
I freakin love the CHARACTERS!! Every. single. one. of. them! The female lead is so 🔥 👌 💯 🙌 fiery. Absolutely love the development of the story!
This story is so beautiful in its simplicity, as if I am reading a haiku. Everything is perfect but.... honest to god author 🥺 if it is bad ending I don’t think I will survive it 😭 #readingwithpleasure&fear
