Synopsis

Angie is a rich girl that grew up with everything that she needed. From a young age, her father had groomed her to become the heir to the empire he had toiled to build. All goes well till one afternoon when she receives a phone call that changes her life forever. Her mother is killed in a fire and she is kidnapped and tortured. Also, not only is she betrayed by people she trusted and held dear, Ashley and Marcus but also watches her own death announced on TV and her brother arrested. What she did not know was whether the death announcement was a way to flush her out or a way to hasten the transfer of funds to her ex-best friend and ex-fiancé. Will she survive the attacks she is served after her mother is killed in a fire? And, what prompted Marcus and Ashley also successful in their own businesses to come after her?

The author throws the reader into the heart of the action. No background or exposition were necessarily given at the beginning of the story. It was a quick recap and done. A rushed introduction is not a bad thing and this novel has the potential to pull it off. The novel could benefit from a slower pace. (Do note that this is a hard thing to do. You get better at pacing as you write more.) The grammar is decent, but there are no jarring mistakes. The author has talent and I hope they continue writing.
