During Gon's and Killua's stay in the NGL, they get to meet a rather unusual character. A two-star hunter by the name of Ashton.
Btw, the stars are not decided by strength, but by contribution to society.
Romance will be later in the series btw.
This is a HxH fanfic starting at the beginning of the Chimera Arc.

Although the novel is well made, he's little too emo and dull for my taste. And there's no real direction nor goal for the mc. It's not something that work well with the hxh universe.
it's really an interesting story for sure but disappointing enough that i couldn't say it as a good story, decent might be the best way to describe it. and what make it disappointing at least for me is mainly 2 things. the way how author try tell or describe the author original main character and how unrelatable the motivation that the mc have in make a big and important decision that literally altered all the entire HXH universe the author instead tell the story with the way "show don't tell" the author choose at early stage of his story to just laid it all of who exactly is mc is, and that's make the mystery of the mc and my curiosity of him just answered very quickly and abruptly and that make feel unsatisfied in receiving the answer. instead of creating situation where all the qualities of the mc could be shown or shined one by one, step by step which the author actually did at his early chapters but somehow instead continuing it the author choose to create a semi information dump chapter of the character and make all my curiosity just instantly gone for the mc. but still I am interest not to the mc, but to what he exactly he gonna do and then he make the decision, which is a big important decision where i personally couldn't make any sensed of it or related it or feel justified of it. because for me I couldn't see myself doing it if I placed at the position of the MC neither any justified benefit of why the mc make such a big important decision. and because of that I personally choose to stop right now reading it, at least for now. we will see.
I absolutely despise stories that start in the middle and try to act all mysterious by not giving you any information about the mc. I hate this and I hate you for writing it.

Good story with bad ending. MC unalives himself after getting strong just because of "humanity" when his partner will die. Not recommended. [img=faceslap]

I like it. I'm not a huge fan of Hunter x Hunter, so I don't really understand how nen works, I just accept it. The story does explain how Ashton uses nen to do the things he does, and I'm just assuming it's all plausible. The way the author presents all the applications of nen (hehehehe) is interesting. The protagonist is OP, and bulldozes pretty much any obstacle in his way, so if you don't like those types of stories, this won't appeal to you. I do like how Ashton is characterized. In a very ironic way, I find him similar to Gon-- in that they only care about the people close to them, and not much about strangers and other people. For Ashton, most of those people he cares about are dead (Netero, Zigg) or gone mad (the beasts that raised him in the Dark Continent) but still. Sometimes the writing gets exposition heavy and more tell than show, but it doesn't really hurt the reading experience that much. Not sure if I'll keep with this, but it seems like a very nice OP MC story.

What can I say ....................................................................................................................................
A well-written story. The grammar is good. The character design of MC is fleshed out, although the MC is not my cup of tea. The author knows what he wants, and it's clearly shown in the plot, even if I don't like how it ended. Romance is okay at best. Anyway, if you love indifferent and neutral evil MCs with a bit of character development in the latter chapters, and hates harem, then this is for you. Otherwise, stay away as it might just turn you off when reading the early chapters.
Its ok. But megalomania is dominating the taste of nearly every topic in this novel. MC = OP, there is a lot of plot armor (basicly its not even hiden its just feels like there is no real chellenge in this novel). In a way MC is a God of novel world, and that's whats makes this novel pointless to read.
