Synopsis
"Step into the world of Ashiqui, an alternate universe where celestial beings dwell amongst the mortal race. Follow along the journey of Raiszadah, an adorable catlike Fire Goddess who falls in love with an androgynous guy named Zhou Bai. This is the story of how they fall in love with each other and how they both overcome their own personal struggles through a series of chaotic events." The story begins in the 18th century with Raiszadah mourning the deaths of her fallen comrades after a bitter war. In despair, she forces herself into a catatonic state, isolating herself from the mortal realm for several years. Frustrated by her antics, Jahei, the God of Water, revives her and urges her to live a more peaceful life. Agreeing with him, she tries to move forward but to her dismay, Raiszadah is plagued by nightmares of a mortal's sufferings instead. Meanwhile, Zhou Bai faces his own grave predicament. The poor lad is sold off to a brothel by his cruel grandfather where he is forced to become a courtesan and degrade himself to survive. Due to these circumstances, Zhou Bai decides to beg the Goddess of Fire for help through prayers in hopes that she will take pity on his and save him from this cruel fate. Fortunately, the two minds think alike. After hearing his pitiful cries in her dreams, Raiszadah decides to embark on a journey with the help of Jahei to find Zhou Bai and rescue him before it's too late. I have had the absolute pleasure of knowing Riri-sensei for some time now, and seeing her actualize her dream and create this story has been an absolute treat. The character development and the way she rites dialouge is so REAL and the character's interactions and way they deal with situations even more so. The dramatic relationships, and twist and turns in their hearts are something to behold! I could not recommend this more, and if you are on the fence I suggest you jump off and start reading!

This story has a lot of potential to grow. I like the character so far but I'm curious about the world of Ashiqui. Hopefully we get to learn more about this universe as the story progresses. [img=update]
