Synopsis

Unfortunately, Bil was betrayed and his family was assassinated. However, Bil secretly survived along with his newborn children, a brazen, ambitious boy named Jash and a calm, collected daughter named Nelphy.
After eighteen years of secrets and hiding, Bil settles down by the city. Finally, Bil can retire and enjoy life as best as he can while living in the shadow of society.
But the journeys of Bil’s two children, now official citizens and adults, have only just begun. They no longer have to wander and travel aimlessly. Finally, they get to live life as they’ve always dreamed of!
Jash rushes into the world of veita and training! With a grin on his face, Jash has the determination to leave his mark on the world, no matter what he has to do. He’ll train with experts, decimate the battlefield, and… secretly destroy the empire?!
Nelphy, however, accidentally learned Bil’s identity and now seeks to learn EVERYTHING that Bil has kept secret. She scours books and legends for every hint available. She’ll search for the aunt she never knew she had. She’ll… be hunted by her own brother!?
And Bil… may be forced out of "retirement" to try and clean up the mess.

With 50 free chapters released and more steadily on their way, now is a good time to write a first review – one I will gladly come back to upon this work's conclusion sometime in the future. This is the third work in the author’s collection, one completed and one on hiatus, and the experience clearly shows. The author has continued to fine-tune their craft while leaving their core style clearly identifiable, and I am very excited to see how this story develops. The style is simple and succinct, though not lacking flair. Ease of reading and clarity aside, it lends itself particularly well to the expressive, larger-than-life dialogue, a prominent feature in the author’s works. The vivid and emotionally charged interactions of the characters play an incredibly active part in all aspects of writing, from characterization to world-building. It is a breath of fresh air in lieu of the swathes of grimdark and apathetic one-liners we readers are all too familiar with. The characters themselves live up to these expectations, their outlines clearly defined from the start, while leaving more than enough room for growth as the story develops. At the time of publication of this review, the main trio has been introduced and developed in great detail, yet sacrificing none of the mystery of unknown or untrustworthy character backgrounds. As the main powerhouse prepares for a wholesome exeunt, the two main protagonists, almost direct opposites of each other in all manner of ways, provide the author with a blank canvas to develop alongside the story’s progression. The world-building of the last fifty chapters provides a solid foundation for this approach, hitting all the right buttons. There’s intrigue, mysterious world politics, an innovative power system and enough enemies, hidden or otherwise, to keep the protagonists occupied for many story arcs to come. The power system especially is one I’m interested in learning more about. To avoid spoilers, it takes an unique three-pronged approach with some tasteful strategic terminology that leaves a lot of room for individuality. Unlike in many stories out there, the protagonists are not blessed with a completely unique class or unheard of element. Seemingly aiming to subvert this trope we instead have common building blocks, which will certainly build up to much more by virtue of characterization and originality, and not a fated bestowal of power because you happened to be in the right dungeon at the right time. The story is set up to be an epic progression fantasy, but with a twist best described as “out with the old and in with the new”, which you may have already picked up on. There are no issues with the grammar or linguistic quality of the writing, so the readers will have an unimpeded reading experience. I am rating it five stars for the quality so far and the great potential beyond, and would certainly recommend everyone to try it for themselves. If you are interested in well thought-out and slow power progression, lively characters, a methodically structured and intricate world, and an adventure story leaning more towards wholesome than dark, this is the book for you.
I can't get enough of this book. It's quality writing and I LOVE the character development. I also have to appreciate how unique the whole concept is. It's not like anything I've read before and it need to know what happens next!

SilverQuill is my favorite writer at this point, I've finished his achievement junkie, I'm almost through Divine Beast Ascension, and I'm over 130 chapters into this here Fallen Conquerer! I just can't read anything else at this point because he is just so much better than anyone else I've found on the platform. characters are in depth and feel real with real struggles, relatable, and the story progresses at an actual realistic and desirable pace. just fast enough to keep you in suspense without drowning you in progress. I would 100% recommend giving Fallen Conqueror a read through and hop in Quill's Discord to be able to even talk with the man jimswlf about what you might want to see.
By far one of the best novels I've read on webnovel. World building is superb, even filler chapters feel important. Not to mention, the main character is an actual person with complex motivations.
The world is intricate and vast, there is so much yet to be discovered but I'm drawn in every chapter, Who is the Conqueror, what is each characters puurpose? Well each chapter release has me beyond excited, I hope everyone gets the opportunity to read this!
Great characters, they feel almost alive as I read and imagine them all interacting with each other. It is a great standalone story, and I believe as a fan of the author's Quillverse series that it will only get better as the story progresses.

Such a good book! It seems complex at first but TheSilverQuill does a great job at making the different perspectives flow and It's easy and intriguing to follow along. I'm curious to see what happens next!
I say this as the author. Of all the stories rolling around in my head, this is by far my favorite tale. I've had this on the back burner for years, but wouldn't let myself write it until I was fully confident in my abilities as an author. Now, after I've already published 1.5 million words under other premium stories, I'm ready. Now, I can do this story justice. So, of course, I'm giving it 5 stars! I'd give it 10 if I was able :]
