Synopsis
In less than an instant the world as we knew it was at its end. That’s right. The Apocalypse. In a single blink Zombies appeared and mutated monsters began to rampage all throughout the world. Now it was the human species turn to fight for survival and planetary dominance! On the same day that the world descends into chaos we meet Yue Zhong. Initially only hoping to get to his friends and escape to a refugee camp our protagonist sets out, inadvertently building a team along the way. After a series of fortuitous events and a few serious hunches our hero decides it’s time to do more than just survive! Yue Zhong begins to form the foundations of an enormous survival plan… before he suddenly discovers that he has only gotten over the first hurdle….
Unbeknownst to Yue Zhong and company, the world outside of China is mostly a wasteland! Country sized swathes of nuclear radiation and an extreme shortage of supplies in the world after the nuclear explosions was quickly becoming the “norm”. Mutants, Evolved animals and what’s worse, intelligent out of control dinosaurs had quickly appeared and claimed their own sections of the planet. There were several innately powerful Evolved races which appeared that were more than 10 times stronger than humans, nearly all of them possessing bodies impenetrable by normal bullets. The fabled orcs’ were another of these Evolved races, the leader of which had in fact enslaved many of the remaining human beings. Unceremoniously exposed to such a cold and heartless new world, Yue Zhong is faced with a choice: Find a deep dark hole and hope it goes back to “normal”? Or overcome all obstacles and struggle towards Evolution!!!

Interesting story in a post-apocalyptic world, I do not recommend it for people that cant stand critics to their country as anyone can deduce after reading the negatives comments. On my opinion, it's a fantasy story on what the author thinks would happen after apocalypsis and you should no take it at face value, in the end it is fantasy, so I think that people that say that the author is too nationalist are overreacting and they seem a little bit stupid to me (the author is chinese, if you want story where EEUU is great or something go read a book of Donald Trump or vote him... or not, that has already happened, stupid people)
4.4 - Dark - Worth a read! Not for the light of heart or social justice warriors. Blood, gore, killing, rape and pretty much the darkest side of humanity you can expect. Humans are mutating, adapting, evolving and... Surviving, no thanks to the hordes of zombies and other creatures trying to constantly kill them. The world is ever changing, mostly based on hordes of zombies. Creatures have very little similarities with their old selves as they mutate and evolve. The story is a bit repetitive and the characters do not always change and adapt according to what the reader wishes, but ultimately none of us could really tell what we'd be like or who we'd turn into in an apocalypse setting.
The story kicked off great with a nice beginning and a MC that was a regular guy. But believe me, he didn't stay normal for long; after tiger-village arc he turned into a guy who used women as trophies, killed whoever he wanted to and with the believe that he's always the best and he's the righteous one. Basically a tyrant. To make it worse the author re-used the story, just changing the support characters (you can't even remember all the names of the girls frankly, they just keep adding more and more) and adding another type of zombie monsters, well until the zombies were getting bored and he just added another thing. Solid start, but poor finish.
This is a story from a very very racist, xenophobic viewpoint. the MC travels around the east to slaughter Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Indonesians so far. every time he goes to a new country the mc rationalize his mass murdering spree's as "that country is racist towards china". the mc is not a hero or good guy in any way. expect the mc to never try to actually help people after chapter 50. wouldn't be surprised if Australia is next and the mc complains about their import laws or some dumb **** like that. then he kills everyone. the story is extremely repetitive when the mc starts "visiting" other countries.
Man after reading some of these comments on this site I've got to wonder if the people have their head on straight. Firstly the people of asian descent from the countries of China, Vietnam, Japan, etc are all of the same race. Discrimination amongst themselves is not called racism. Second, this about what happens in a post apocalyptic world where everything has gone to hell in a hand basket and all law and order breaks down. This is a place where the strong devour the weak, evil men commit evil acts and people will do anything they can to survive. In this kind of setting, it's only natural some people would devolve into tribalism and militancy. It's entirely as expected. Moreover as the author pointed out, nationalism and tribalism are useful methods to obtain recruits. The downside been, it results in tremendous suffering for the group of people been targeted as scapegoats. Now when the MC encounters his people been victimised by these groups, he naturally gets outraged and retaliates. But this is no different than the way he dealt with the numerous bandit groups in the past. Furthermore unlike what some commentators are implying, he did not go slaughtering everyone like a maniac. After defeating the groups, he only singled out the perpetrators of the crimes to be executed, thus fairly dealing out even-handed justice and bringing closure to the victims. The rest who were not involved were able to join his group without discrimination for good food and promotion, just as long as they were willing to work and follow his orders. Frankly if the author had actually used country A, country B, like Japanese authors do. Nobody would of batted an eyelid. Only when it's China been used you got all these haters coming out of the woodwork. I suspect it has something to do with too much anti-China propaganda in the western media.
It started really fckin good. Like, too good to not read. Then it starts to get repetitive, but still readable. Author made new arc! The locals are crazy rapist anarchist MF! MC take control! Add more insignificant harem members and characters! Author ruined the series! Really, the first 200 chp was sooooooo good. Then the communist propaganda starts, which is kind of gross but still acceptable. Then, the point where author just start assuming all people other than Chinese are just rapist anarchist shameless crazy people. Being nationalistic is great, author. But being stupidly racist is not. Yes, racist. YOU assumed 90% of the population are just rapist MF. I mean, do you even look at ur own country? Now, count the criminal and there you go. A rough data for apocalypse. Just multiply it by 5 and u get it. And then u realize, that ur own country has a **** ton more than the one u accuse for being full of rapist. Haha. Really tho, i was so disapointed with this. If i only read till c200. I probably would've made this review full of praises and 4 or 5 stars. But u know? Author ruined it. Drop it before c300. Just read till the Vietnam arc and be done. Don't continue and treat it as finished. Author, u ruined a series with huge potential by ****** it repetitive and biased. Read > Vietnam arc > Done Trust me, u would not want go further than that.
I had a read of that story long ago, a hundred chapters or something, what I remember is that it's a trash story written by a trash author, where everybody is an asshole and the mc is a bit less an asshole so he shines like a rock in a turd. You don't need to read very far in that story to see the reality of what the author truly wishes to express, basically he uses the excuse of returning to the primal world to explain his view on gender equality, racial equality and patriotism but well many are patriotic so that point is not really important. Basically, after a week in the apocalypse, you can expect Everybody to turn into a crazy asshole because if history taught us something, it's that we are better at being auto destructive assholes than to help each other and make a society. women degraded as cows in a world with a magic system that makes them more equal to men than they have ever been, we men all know that right, even with an ak47 in their hand's women has no survival instinct they are just good to suck big d*ck. situations where strangers that are very arrogant, lazy and weak got their deserved punishment because we all know that white, black or Japanese skins make you extremely arrogant and stupid even after the apocalypse in a country where they are a minority because for some reason minority rules right. And more than anything you can expect a narrator that possess the power to bend logic and make the mc appear right and just instead of a little ****. Seriously the logic bending in that novel is what kills me, to all little cunts that can't help but say ho another triggered SJW, I like heavy stuff, but more than that I like a novel when they are realistic, well-constructed and also honest with itself. I don't mind reading stories with rape and all others crazy ****, but I really hate when the mc do obviously dark **** and having the omniscient narrator explaining to me just how much right the mc is.
Ok. First after looking at so many negative reviews on here about propaganda this, or repeating that, or racist view point, i have to say that all of you are extremely, extremely stupid and narrow minded. Also you need to go demand back any money you may have paid for any educational expenses, as it was a waste. Now let me break this down into easy to understand thoughts for you. China has had a really, really, REALLY messed up history in dealing with most of the world. The Japanese have attacked multiple times and occupied in a ruthless and basically evil fashion. They made all Chinese people who didn't demean themselves to the Japanese into lowest form of life or damn near slaves. They have also had conflict with Vietnam in bloody war and have had deep long lasting hatred between them for a long time. Oh and lets not forget that America, Europe and Japan even jointly occupied china and deemed the Chinese as " sick yellow men of the east". Now as fir the B.S. of saying there is communistic propaganda that is laughable. Lets look at the MC. He is from a communist country, right? So what do you think he will do after forming his own group? Do like the idiots in the cave that, thru "democracy", had the strongest guy be treated like garbage while he did all the work to get food and supplies? Screw that noise!!! I am with the MC, if i have the power then i would be in charge and those that I care for and can trust will run things with me. Also this is the apocalypse for crying out loud. The more hands trying to steer the ship the less stable the course will be, as everyone will think they know best. Also, if you notice though he is in charge he is not stupid and listens to the advise and counseling of those around that have good charater and have shown that they put the welfare of the people before their own greed. And he doesn't kill for no reason either. He shows mercy to those who do not fight him, and is ruthless to any that dare to be a threat to his people's well-being. The only others that incur his wrath are those who do or have done unforgivable horrors. (Example: the people in Vietnam that were teaching kids to see Chinese people as food or things that have no value.) Now as for how it looks like everyone other then him is evil or racist or morally corrupt, that has not been shown. All that has been shown is that some people have very dark corners to them and if they have nothing to keep them in check, they will give into their more sinister side. So there you go. Now you should be able to understand things a little better. So before you go spouting off nonsensical thoughts, next time maybe try to understand the overall picture or setting.
Brilliant novel and setting. I've never seen such a fresh take on the zombie apocalypse genre. The storyline is gripping from the start to finish. Incredibly intelligent battles with great thought and effort put into the details and strategy by the author. Absolutely fun and enjoyable to read. It's a shame the reviews are plagued by trolls who make up bull**** about the story and non-english speaking illiterates don't even understand what "racism" is. (They're all Asian, it's nationalism at best not racism).
MY GOD , THE ABSOLUTE WORST NOVEL IN EXISTENCE! This novel is the example of pure Chinese propaganda and the extent of their racist homophobic indoctrination in their society . Ugh . [P.S . This is not an sjw rant.] First lemme clear out some of the issues that every half hearted novel suffers from . 1. Repeating arcs = check 2. Plot armor and super luck = check 3. Side characters 1D and forgotten after each arc = check 4. Idiotic arrogent weak ass 1D villians= check Ok , let's get to the atrocities unique to only this novel . 1. Women are nothing but objects. The women in this novel are garbage . They have no value other than for sexual relief. Sure some will argue that there are strong female characters , but here's the catch , they fall under three categories . a . She is ugly , dies in 1-3 chapters max . b. She is hot , becomes MCs f*ck toy , only to be forgotten 10 chapters later . May have a cameo later ( not more than a mere mention ) c. Hot , but won't be his b*tch , so he kills her or she dies somehow . And also she's more evil that Hitler . That's all you need to know about 'powerful women' in this novel . Ordinary women , they are trading objects , men will make them their dogs , break them , eat them , kill them , abuse them , beat them , grill them , fry them , roast them and dismember them . You think I'm joking , NO , all this actually happens . In chapter 584 , one women is being r*ped , with her hands broken , eyes gauged out , tongue cut off and while being eaten alive . You get the idea . 2. CHINA NUMBA 1 I've seen pro Chinese novels , they are upto the level of " wow , China is most technically advanced ". This is on another level . Upto chapter 585 , mc goes to Vietnam , Japan , and Indonesia . He also has contact with European forces . EVERY person in these nation's is a monster . They r*pe women , make them their broken toys etc . Every time their nation is introduced , the author starts a monologue about how before the apocalypse , that nation was anti Chinese , they killed and hunted Chinese in their country . Etc etc etc . You get the idea . Then he proceeds to kill innocent people , unless it is some hot chick of course . At first the author tries to act like there is a language barrier , but next line , there is a Chinese dude who can translate , and boom , no more barrier . He then proceeds to conquer the nation , while rescuing fellow Chinese people being abused , here and there he finds some Chinese abusing the other nationalities , but he forgives them . BUT WAIT , when the foreigners do it , instant death . He kills foreigners left and right , for saying the wrong thing , or refusing him , or ignoring him . But one Chinese dies , his eyes become red , he becomes angry , his brain starts to mourn for his fellow Chinese brother , his soul brother he never even interacted with , and he goes on a killing spree. I can go on and on , but I'll stop here , you get the idea . 3. Forgotten game world mechanics?? This is more like another common mistake , but I'll just put it here anyway . At lv 10 he finds a newbie village where he gets his class , there are all kinds of other classes that are important to the world , clearly a very important aspect of the novel and the world. 500 chapters later, it's nowhere to be found , not one mention . At this point , I'm just reading because this novel is actually a very interesting piece of work . It provides a deep look into the mind of a racist , homophobic , communist Chinese nationalist . I read chapters at the rate of 1 chapter in 15-20 seconds . The title itself gives away what happens anyway . This novel is the holy Bible for brainwashed Chinese . That's probably why even qidian picked it up . I can't fathom to imagine how this novel has so many 5 star ratings . I'll give this novel 0 STARS . Quality and updates make it to 2 .

muchos consideran esta historia racista, homicida y machista al extremo, llena de violaciones y asesinatos, pero la verdad esta historia solo es REALISTA!!!!! como imaginan que seria un mundo así? lleno de héroes y doncellas haciendo el bien, de manera bondadosa y honrada? mejor y vayan y lean cuentos infantiles, jajajaja no inventen así NO SERIA!!! seria cruel y oscuro tal y como se plantea en esta increíble novela!!!
This novel is really good. What i want to say however is that i am most curious about how this racism BS is so exaggerated for only one human race exists and its called "homo sapien". One who hates some other nationality is called nationalist not racist. TYVM to The Author , Qidian , Translators and editors.
A great Apocalypse story thus far. It minces no words (very direct) and pulls no punches what so ever (aka don't fear what others say about it).
I like the novel so far, but the extraneous editor/tl comments added into the text of the story was really annoying. They were way too immersion breaking. It's great that they stopped doing that now, but I hope they'll also get around to fixing the earlier chapters as well so readers in the future can have a better reading experience. Anyways thank you very much for bringing us this novel!
Cool novel. Not sure why it gets all the hate. Ppl projecting too much me thinks. I really liked the cool ways the MC dealt with the zombies and mutant beasts in the story. Plus ripping off their hides to use as armor, using their claws as weapons, what a great and ingenious way to make use of the environment!
Translation quality for most part of the novel wasn't too great, however it was better than a lot of Japanese translations I've read. In the later part of the book, the translation improves greatly! It's almost as good as Night Ranger! As for the book, its pretty entertaining. I blazed through the whole thing in a few days, couldn't stop reading! I thoroughly enjoyed adventures of this smart bad-ass MC. Thanks for bringing us this book TLers!
Man, this is not a fairytell story, but more like a end of the world and everyone is crazy story! So if the bloody killing, raping and how crazy people can become doesn't scare you, then this is a great novel! Everything is done to show the drak side of humanity, but hope is still their for you if you are strong enough to reach it and keep it. Only the story development is repetive in a few arks, but the fun is their for you if you like it!
