Synopsis

One night, a 21-year old man named John Skuna just got a grimoire out of nowhere after his birthday. The grimoire was too small to even be called a book of magic. He unknowingly enters the realm of magic he never knew existed all along, just hidden in plain sight.

Warning: All of the text below may be copy-pasted somewhere inside the story, so you don't actually have to worry about not reading this part.

You may choose to read the text below or not. It serves as a guide to avoid confusion haha.

There are currently three known mage bloodlines amongst the mages left in the world (though there may be even more); S, P, and F.

John Skuna was unknowingly a S.

S are the ones with magic specialized to inflict despair and hope. Their power is not absolutely clear and may be random, but it will always inflict despair or hope. They are also one of the rarest known mages out there.

P can bend and alter light and energy at will. Many of them are silent serial killers.

F can alter mass movement of matter, depending on their power. They are the most common of all the mages, with some of them having an almost identical magic with those of the P. Their magic ranges from renovation to total destruction.

There are also the fabled SKs who use others' respect, praise, trust or even just a belief in them to get stronger. They are thought to be big figures in society, but no one is yet to observe anyone with that magic yet.

There may also be magic bloodlines that are lesser known or not even known yet.

Mages have a magical energy source known as Mana. One is powerful if one has considerable amounts of mana and vice versa.

Once mages obtain their own grimoires, they will emit a unique aura which can feel overwhelming but safe, signifying their mana. Only mages can feel this aura. Mages with more mana emits a stronger aura, but some magic can disable this aura, muffling the casting mage from other mages.

Although the amount of mana a mage has can be oftentimes random, more powerful mages having more mana tend to be near the original bloodlines with both parents having pure magic bloodlines. Although mages may arise from parents where one is human, one can be cut out of the bloodline when they have little to no mana at all. In that case, they cannot spread their magical bloodline anymore.

Someone with a magic bloodline will automatically obtain a grimoire after the day they somehow triggered their power. It may happen at their birth, or later in their life. Those who do not obtain their grimoire through triggers will obtain theirs after the day they become 21 years old.

The magic one can cast are listed in the grimoire written in complex metaphors one must understand in relation to their personality to fully harness. One may obtain a small grimoire with 10 pages only or a big grimoire with 200 or more pages. The list of one's magic gets random after that.

This is the first story I wrote here in Webnovel. Yeah. So if there are inconsistencies in my storymaking, don't hesitate to tell me.

I am writing this book for fun and just for my own past time... Planning to give away the idea to another writer I know, so a big no-no if you steal the idea XD.
